The way you drove that car, the way it behaved on track, the way you had to save it had COMPLETELY no such similarity with what iRacing offers but reacted exactly how ACC works. There you go, which is the best sim?? ;)
It was fully wet so that changes things significantly! To learn iRacing is a better sim, however it strongly depends on personal taste and your goals 👊🏼
Brake model and tyre model is way better in iRacing then every sim on the market

Every real racer I talked to, says iracing is better.
It's more then a sim, iRacing got people behind the sim. It's more a company, they know what their doing since 2008. The physics are more important then some graphics.

I need much dampening to make it stop oscilate like crazy.
Well in sim racing, it's not really the goal to have realistic steering feel, there's a lot more going on with the force feedback than there is in reality, where you can feel most things elsewhere. So it does make sense as to why the real wheel is dampened so much.

@@masterkamen371I race in GT7, not lobbies full of idiots who can’t drive, actually for a team, and the feeling on GT3’s is pretty real as i run low traction control and low ABS so it’s really difficult to drive and the like of snap oversteer understeer come into play, plus I don’t race with major assists like most do
@@masterkamen371same goes for real race drivers who have sims, next to no assist except maybe brake bias and ABS
That was wild! The big Merc seemed to have more top end than the Porsches. Also, so cool how you short shifted to prevent the rears from spooling up in the wet - excellent! You are quite a driver Dean and loved seeing you at work in your office!
Thanks man, keep in mind I was one of the only full spec GT3’s so a lot more aero which helps with the main straight given the characteristics of the last corner 😉
I have nothing to add or take away from that drive.
You obviously know what you're doing and I wasn't in the car and cannot feel or see what you do but the results are obvious.
You are an absolute professional and I truly appreciated watching you get after it and honing your craft as you've done.

Gran Turismo 7 has actually nailed the AMG sound.
One of my students has asked me why I keep telling him to be smooth, but he keeps seeing race car drivers sawing at the steering wheel. I've tried many times to explain - and not just to this one student - that the intent is for the CAR to follow a smooth line, for the CAR to have smooth weight transitions, etc., and for the DRIVER to do whatever is necessary to achieve that state. I'm going to show him this video so it might trigger an understanding within him. It makes for an excellent example.
I love how you make traction corrections to the rear with your steering inputs, but we can hear through the audio that your throttle foot is very disciplined no matter what your hands are doing. It is so fun to watch a master produce his art with a good tool. Thank-you for posting.

if the car is full auto, why would peak power revs be displayed? or is that just something all GT3 cars have, regardless of transmission?
What do you mean with ‘full auto’? It’s a sequential gearbox where the driver decides when to shift ;)
8:57 - I know it's slow in a racecar and frowned upon, but I love few things more than driving in greasy conditions with undulating roads like that. It lets you steer with the throttle and really hone technique at fairly low speeds.

awesome driving man! i follow your ig and notice u drive different types of cars like the Lambo or Porsche, do u have preferences to which cars u feel more comfortable with? being some are mid, front, or rear engine cars.
Every car is different, some are more natural, some demand a specific driving style. In short the AMG is the most effortless to go fast, the Lamborghini is the most specific and so also very rewarding. The Porsche sits in three between, my preference remains private 😉

I see no reply from the driver... The Vmax of the Benz GT3 is approx 280 km/h, depending on the track and conditions if you can reach it!

Is it just me, or are you killing them on the brakes and also because you seem to be accellerating way better then they are out of the corners.

Ive heard that the amg gt black series feels floaty and disconnected (feels like driving on a wet track) when being pushed hard on track, how does the GT3 version feel, does it have the same inherent characteristics baked in because of the chassis or does the GT3 suspension and tyres iron that characteristic out? And how does the AMG GT3 compare to something like a 992 GT3 cup car? Thank you!

Portimao sure is a technical, tough track. And in those conditions the AMG GT3 looked like a handful - lots of steering corrections. Well done.
This is awesome! Would be great to have a voice over to hear what’s going through your mind, what adjustments you’re making, what you’re feeling, etc.. for the first few laps I found myself on the edge of my seat on those sketchy corners 😂

Wasn’t the only GT3 but the Porsches where indeed Cup cars 😉
That was some crazy throttle control and an interesting line for the wet.
such a masterclass of handling a car in the wet track!! btw when you changed the TC from 3 to 4, is the 4 a higher TC setting (where the computer controls the traction more so it slides less) OR is it a lower TC setting (like the case in assetto corsa where higher number means less TC so it slides more and computer does not control much)
Higher number is more input from the computer

We were all on rain tires, I was one of the only GT3 cars so it’s not a fair comparison but we did win the race with +60s advantage 😅
The last corner looks so much fun, the car on the edge at high speed 😊

Can't believe it . What is the catch ? Is it an amateur race and you're the only one with wet tires? Edit : gt3 vs gt4. Im a full race we would expect a start. And cars of the same category. But I can be wrong am not an expert.
Rolling starts and multiple classes on track at the same time are common fare for various GT racing series.
It was a 60 min multi class race, I switched with the AM driver during the mandatory pitstop. Everyone was on rain tires, but I was one of the only GT3 cars. There were some Pro drivers but it was not a competitive field 😉
One hell of a driver in the wet. Very impressive.

What mean S1 and S2 buttons in the center console? And why are there white circles on the front glass?
My guess is that the circles are rock chips
The circles are bubbles in the windshield tearoffs. Pretty hard to get them perfect. As for the S1/S2 I haven't a clue.
In this case it are programmed button's with various function's.
At a guess from using that AMG GT3 dash for simracing it could be to cycle the left and right side of the dash for different information, Screen 1 and Screen 2, just a guess though
