Ciaran Bourke, handsome as he was charismatic. A tragic yet beautiful figure.

To me, it seemed --unlike a lot of other vocalists -- Ronnie's voice got more powerful as he aged. What a immeasurably great talent!

ScottInVa1760 Ronnies voice got more mellow as he aged. In the early days it was a very hard textured voice. But then it got a bit more mellow unmistakeably unique was his voice

I like the Ronnie's voice, specially between 60's and 80's. During 60's and early 70's his voice was hard and kind of a metellic bright in it, bit algo with a great low vocal register, i think he was baritone with a very particular voice color, very special. Then in the 80's his wasn't hard in the mid and high register, still very powerfull but with a smooth and mellow color, the low notes always great a gravelly. Sadly un 90's and 00's his voice got deteriorated, was kind of dysphonic, and eventually due to his illness. He was the greatest, i Also love Luke voice and how they complement each other, bit Ronnie's voice still my favorite.
      Greetings from Colombia.

think i knew about the energie decliening everywhere... Luke dead already, Ronnie had left before... and about his own mistakes. And still, look at all around them, names... who never had been that meaningful if Ronnie Drew, Barney McKenna, Ciaron Bourke, and afterwards Luke Kelly, John Sheahan, Bobby Lynch, and much later on Paddy Reilly and Sean Cannon wouldnt have dared...

Ciarán had a stroke in 1985 and he was paralyzed from the waist down and was blind because of it
It breaks my heart to see him crying since he knew and we all knew it would be his last performance among a crowd

John Sheahan still stands strong weighing in at 80 years young Kathleen, like an old but not yet weary veteran of the road he wields his musical weapons as proud as ever he did before.
John has even booked himself in to play some Dublin concerts towards the end of this year which are surely not to be missed for any of us on or reasonably near Irish soil come December...
