- (March 13, 2007) Action recently on the Hazelhurst sub division has proven to be plentiful. I recently caught some BNSF action as well as Amtrak. The state patrol also appeared to be busy on this day as well. Special thanks to Chris M. (railtalk) who is operating the trains while I shot this video and is the owner of this layout. This layout is HO scale. NOTE: THIS IS NOT MY LAYOUT.
My childhood was watching these videos on my old Grandmas Windows XP when I would go to her house.

My friend who owns and was operating the layout does EXCELLENT scenery work. That is how the road was made so realistic. I'm sure he has the full details on what he did.

I built the crossing with the grade crossing kit from Walthers. The signals are all walthers used with the new Walthers signal system. The roads are all made of sanded wood.

The road is hard board 1/4" thick, sanded and glued down. Hand painted.

The state patrol car did NOT come with the lights. My friend (who owns the layout and was operating it) installed the lights in the car himself. It looks even better seeing it up close!

I got the engines from Becker's Model Railroad Supply. They are Athearn with sound decoders by Soundtraxx.

lol nice choice of music for the pull over shot!!!!
on your traffic lights they need to go red once the flashers turn on and then go green once the train is pass. people have gotten killed at these intersections take what happened in Pomona California for example. a truck waited for a local to pass then the light turned green 30 seconds later the truck stops at a red light and stalls on the tracks. Coast Starlight arrives and cuts the truck in half the female driver and her dog jumped from the truck before the train hit it.
Cop car was made from a BUSCH police car, MICROTRONICS light bar with LED lights. Total cost around $35.

@Lunchbox77667 Those traffic lights and crossing signals are Walthers models.
That's dang near what the AMTRAK cost. Soundtraxx sound decoder and Walthers cars.
Do you have a train and a layout and if you do would you know how much that costs in Canada?

Awesome crash! lol even in the toy world the train tops as a wrecker! it totaled that Viper lol love the bloopers it stop in a DIME! the car has its revenge and takes the train with it lol, hey where did you get that Cop car with actual working LIGHTS?

Chris would have to answer this question. He owns nearly everything you see in the entire video. I do know that it wasn't cheap. Everything shot in this video is HO scale.
Those are custom crossing gates, ive seen a website where they had plenty of those.
I think we are all still waiting to find out : - )

You should try TT scale (ratio 1:120 on 12mm track) - big enough to hold onto and see, small enough to save space.

The crossing is nearly on a curve. How would they have had a chance to slow down? Even if they would have slowed down it would have been way to late to do much good.
