Had RH Dupuytren's surgery in 2017, now my LH seems to be producing nodules. Also have right shoulder and forearm stiffness and sometimes very inflamed soles of both feet. Didn't really hear you mention anything about connective tissue disorder or autoimmune disorders.

    Does insurance typically cover surgery?
I have gone through traction and Xiaflex treatments at Mayo with no improvement, but curvature after Xiaflex is same as before so maybe it prevented it from getting worse.
Doctor said he would recommend surgery and after getting a second opinion, the second doctor agreed, but curious about insurance. The Xiaflex treatment is around $20k and my insurance paid for that. However, they approved a slightly smaller dose than Mayo recommended, but doctor thought that was not a problem.

    • @mr.frandy7692
      @mr.frandy7692 10 месяцев назад

$20K for that stuff is complete highway robbery. We've known about that enzyme I believe since the 70s, but since Endo Pharmaceuticals figured out that they could get exclusive rights to sell it for a number of years, thanks to the good ole FDA, it's at least tens times the price that it should be if the FREE MARKET was truly in place in this country. It's absurd, and they're laughing all the way to the bank.

Apart from traumas caused through sexual intercourse, does wearing briefs over long periods of time also cause Peyronie's? For example, underwear too tight and injuries to the penis is sustained as a result of suppressed erections over a prolonged period of time.

It's interesting that roughly 20% of people with PD have duptyrens as well. I am a FM resident, and ever since I read that in uptodate I always check their palms, and it's pretty common to at least see some skin evidence if not larger contractors. What I don't understand is why injections into the plaque with kenalog or something like that would help break down the fibrous tissue. I mean we use it so cautiously in like, trigger finger injections because it inhibits fibroblasts so much that the risk of rupture is higher. Same for OA corticosteroids, it relieves symptoms but hastens the breakdown. I have a feeling you are about to answer my question though because right when I paised to type you said there is an active phase, so I'm guessing that's the only time.steroids help.
Do you see any significant number of PD post foley catheterization?

I’ve heard that electro shockwave therapy (ESWT) has seen good results in some patients, in combination with the traction device mentioned. And also I’ve seen urologists recommend penis pumps to help the ESWT treatment too.
But it does depend on which phase, your age etc about success of treatment
And also, I think viagra helps. Something to do with nitrogen oxide or something

I gotta question for you, Peter (or anyone else knowledgeable on this topic). contrary to consensus theory, I've had this since birth; spoke to my mother and she said it was present since infancy, and that also my father has it. Had an appointment with a National Health Service (UK) urologist, who denied me any treatment solely on the basis that I did not have a girlfriend at the time (???) - ridiculous, given what Dr. Khera had discussed in the full interview, surrounding men's typically reticent attitudes toward discussing urological matters even with their partners: I shouldn't think it is too much heavy lifting to suggest that some men may forgo relationships altogether for fear of humiliation! Evidently I am not one of these individuals - one man's deepest secret is another's RUclips comment! but I digress...
Questions - If congenital, does that mean that i do not, in fact, have Peyronie's disease and it is something else? And if it is Peyronies, would all treatments mentioned throughout this video still apply despite its having nothing to do with physical trauma? Thanks.

Ain't no magic pill/ injection... Possibly stem cells 10 years from now.
Peyronis needs a GOOD DIET. Fasting. Heat therapy everyday for 30 mins (max 42 degree Celsius). AND most importantly traction (done with utmost safety in mind)
Abstinence also is important. And care in passive position when penis is in pants/ while sleeping.
All above can completely relieve symptoms.
For cosmetics purposes of the penis... Look at Dr. Victor Loria's work on penile procedures. He's the GOAT.

When a doctor performs a circumcision in an infant, is there a way for a parent to know that something wasn’t done correctly or isn’t healing correctly after the circumcision. What I’m trying to ask is.. during circumcision in an infant, can that have something to do with the curvature instead of “first intercourse or fowl play” to cause peyronies ? Can a botch unintentional circumcision in an infant cause this curvature and first time anything cause this if the I circumcision wasn’t done 100% properly?
