I feel sorry about these guys from "XLN Audio". Their VST named "XO" did just the same, but 10 times more expensive. Waves CR8 and Cosmos are killer competitors here.

*This isn't nearly the same as XO, for one, XO is a drum machine and Cr8 is a sampler... two, Cr8's Cosmos is the only compatible thing between the two but XO just does it better, probably because both serve different purposes. Honestly, the fact you thought the two are doing the same thing just shows how little you know about both products*

Great plug-in, hope waves adds a feature to chop samples n map notes to keyboard 🎹, that would be a dope idea 💡… still, much love to the waves team 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Though you can not chop samples, you can certainly edit Start/End points.
And yes, you can map samples to zones on your keyboard.

You can just click the name to load the sample. No need to drag & drop from Cosmos. You can then also cursor up and down the list to swap sample out for another.

Yea this thing is dope!!! And Cosmos Standalone is Free!!! The Sampler is well worth the money! I love it and have been using it since regularly since I bought it yesterday!!!

Can’t lie I bought it just to trial it out and see if it’s worth it since fl studio has decent sampling options... this thing blows to stock plugins out the water! XO is mainly for drums and one shots but this does so much more for a small plugin, I’ll use it for everything! Waves hit a goldmine with this one can’t lie
bro if you using FL how to load it up as a vst instead of effect cause it tell me its a effect plugin
@@lamontbrown8496 hmmm that's weird. On my end it's called Cr8 Sampler Studio in VST/VST3 format and it's labeled as a synth. Maybe a rescan or reinstall will get Fl to recognize it properly.
Also check momentum, a free vst ala serato sample for easier choppin in fl

What's good bro? I just got the cr8,to fully get the best out of this plug in is a midi keyboard highly needed?
This thing looks awesome and because I'm a Reaper user and its built in media management sucks, I'm definitely getting it. I'd also get it just because it normalizes everything to -12. I hate how every sample and synth is normalized to 0. Makes it hell for gain staging and makes me turn everything down before I use it or go through the tracks and clip gain then down before I mix them. Synths drive me crazy with this specifically and I wish they would exclude the master volume from the presets. It would help if I could just turn the master volume down on the synth and it would stay there no matter what the preset is. Drive me crazy, but thankfully there is a work around with a simple gain plug-in. But it would be nice to see more manufacturers start to consider gain staging with the output of their plug ins/ soft synths etc for those of us who pay attention to their gain staging instead of trying to slam everything to the top and limit the crap out of them. I slam stuff too when it's appropriate, but I also do a lot of real instruments and analog modeled plug ins and that's when the gain staging becomes important to me. Most analog modeled plug ins are calibrated at -18db. Not -3 or 0 or whatever everything seems to be set at with samples and soft synths.
Definitely agree big time about vst 0 normalization volumes. It's bewildered me for years why this is implemented

Can the edited samples be exported even when samples are layered? So they can be used by something like a mpc?
I want to buy this and some other waves plugin but the used laptop I purchased came with almost every wave plug-in. I feel like if I buy a new plug-in and use Waves Central it will overwrite the old plugins. Has anybody had any experience with this?
Does it organize the sounds that I have on my external drive that is plugged into my computer as well or does it organize the sounds that are stored in the computer.

I just bought it, I realized the license only lasts for a year. It states no update plan before I paid for it, after payment, it says the license expires next year. This is why I don't use Waves plugins. You don't own what you pay for.

And that is why I no longer use waves,
Theres other samplers that do exactly this, some more expensive, some as part of the DAW.
ADSR Sample manager is such a winner in so many respects.... It doesent have the XO sound , galaxy , space age , sound selection... But hey.. It can be still somewhat random. Not hard to just surf the interface..
Give me TAL sampler over CR8 anyday.... Then again , If it aint orchestral, The ASR still kicks plugins Butt's.
The Waves Update Plan means that you are eligible for any updates to the plugin for one year, not that the licence only lasts for one year.
You own the license, but the update is only for one year or extend it for more updates
