Eusebio Pedroza - Is a retired boxer from Panama who held the WBA and lineal featherweight championship from 1978 to 1985. His 19 successful defenses as world featherweight champion are a record for that division. His cousin, Rafael Pedroza, was a world champion also, in the junior bantamweight division, although Rafael's reign as world champion was short-lived.

R.I.P. Eusebio Pedroza
I watched this video not too long ago. So sad that he passed but he gets to join the other legends that have passed in paradise. R.I.P.
An amazing athlete.
When Barry MC guigan beat him he was imo a bit past his best still good win . Pedzroza very underated consider this 18 title defences 126 lbs legend assured
How did he passed away
One of the best Featherweights in boxing history! Taking some more highlight requests as always if people have any.
Fernando Montiel
Donnie Nietes an active phillipino legend, can make a defencive, offencive highlights...dude has it all
haNZAgod man you just keep bringing that fire everytime I turn around and think you can't get no better you go ahead and and do me one better unbelievable all these guys I forgot about you bring back memories👊👊👊
Cotto and inoue for routes the body, or a defense highlight of cotto, idk if u like him but hes one of the rare boxers i see still recently use the cross arm defense, like ken norton. ur 1 of the only guys to do those type of vids its dope man
You haven't done one about sergio martinez :O One of the best middleweights in the last years!
He was the ultimate definition of a Pro Boxer. Knew every trick in the book both legal and not legal. Had 19 title defenses in a weight class that was full of Incredible talent at the time
The fact that he got folded by Alfonso Zamora is amusing to me. Pedroza was so smooth with that incredible defense.
@@adambayer9535 The great thing about that is that he learn from that lost and he became one of the Greatest featherweights of all time!!
Lucky Barry mguigan got a old version of him.
Unfortunately didn’t fight Salvador🤦🏾♂️would’ve been an all time great fight
That's the thing, his style was built around dirty stuffs to much, but he's somewhat smart enough to sneak those slick moves
Eusebio Pedroza vs Salvador Sanchez dream fight
Sanchez was a more refined boxer Eusebio relied too much on his reflexes and was a rather dirty fighter but I can definitely see the fight go either way
I got Sanchez
@@lime455 me too
Sánchez by KO
I've never heard of this man before but I'm impressed!
very under rated fighter, looks simply brilliant
Panamanian boxers had one of the best styles. Duran, marcel, pedrosa, laguna, zapata, frazer and a lot of guys. even wilfredo gomez was developed in panama.
You on point with that. Very skilled boxers in Panama.
slick and deadly.
One of the few who used the bolo punch. It's a shame he never got the chance to unify against Sanchez.
He couldn’t have. Sanchez by KO
Sal died too early man,all potential wasted, could've rematched against Laporte and he even wanted to fight Alexis Arguello at one point, while Wilfredo was trying to get to him for a rematch too.

RIP Eusebio Pedroza
Rocky Lockridge

all in boxing heaven
My god this is some beautiful boxing. Great work haNZAgod.
RIP Eusebio Pedrosa
Apparently some 19 million people watched his famous bout with Barry McGuigan on British television!
Beautiful, simply beautiful!
First time i saw Eusebio Pedroza he was knocked out by Alfonso Zamora (who seemed unbeatable until he met Carlos Zarate) in a bantamweight title bout. After two consecutive kayo losses in 1976 Pedroza seemed finished. But he moved up to featherweight and had an extraordinary career. He would have given Salvador Sanchez a hard time but I'd hate to pick one over the other in that dream match.
He was very weak as a bantaweight in those losses. He was much more comfortable in his true weight class. Taking nothing away from Zamora and Zarate, 2 excellent fighters but if they would have fought him at feather, different outcome. One of the great things about Pedroza is he always fought in enemy territory, traveling globally to fight. His losses to Zamora and Zarate was in mexico.
Pedroza with spidey senses tuned in. An all-time great.
I used to remember that eusebio Pedroza started out and boxed then he started wearing out an opponent and in the late rounds he'd come on like gangbusters I really think there was few featherweights that could have beat him
Pedrosa was one of. The best pound-for-pound. Fighters in the world in the early, Eighties he made 14 Defences of the. WBA Feather title, thats an outstanding achievement.
Actually he made 19 defenses and he has the record.
An absolute icon in Panama
What a master !
RIP Champ.
Damn I've just seen the news... That's so sad. R.I.P.
Pedroza had 19 successful consecutive defenses of his WBA featherweight title.
A great champion.
And it's not only just a number but he has far better defenses compared to his rival Salvador Sanchez. Sanchez and Pedroza is one of the best example of what I always says about lineal championships not being absolute. Being the lineal champion doesn't exactly means you're the absolute best boxer in the division but was simply the man who beat the man. Sanchez perhaps beats the One but Pedroza beats Everyone.
@@raygan1221late reply to the comment but who did Sal not beat ? He beat Danny Lopez, Azumah Nelson, Wilfredo Gomez, Juan Laporte etc. those are great fighters and 2 of those names are all time greats.
You can really tell it's reflexes. He sees the punch coming and he just slips out of he way mid punch not before like a Mayweather.
Pedroza is a composer, they dance to his beat, his lead
Wow, this guy reminds of Pernell Whitaker!
Was just thinking the same! Although he is orthodox...
Rip one of the best.
Not just reflexes. Great fluidity, stamina and anticipation
Pure Art 🥊🎨
Damn, Pedroza was fast and slick as fuck!
Amazing
He was also artistically dirty. I use the term dirty loosely due to how creative he was in using some of these fowls. There are some fighters that when the get dirty you get upset watching them because it is in our nature to not approve of fouls. However, Pedroza was just so creative in how he would use them. He rarely got warned. And it was not as if he used them to turn a fight in his direction.
Pushed Johnny Aba out of the ring, repeated low blows against Laporte and robbed Lockridge
0:43 two classic defensive masters having there exchange 👏
OMG what an amazing fighter! 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Thanks for another excellent video
Best technique of defense
Wow, great fighter
Perfect balance
Like all great defensive fighters he has great flexibility and quickness in the hips.
Amazing skill. Nice video bro.
Holy shit wtf ? Beautifiuuuuuuuuul.
woow great reFlex !!!
ESPN could be playing this instead of the same old classics
An amazingly talented box puncher. His earlier career with 3 knockouts didnt suggest a boxing great in the making. Amazing defence and slick boxing.
Amazing..
1:45 was beautiful
What a fight if Salvador Sánchez would had fought him, it’s a toss up, don’t no who would had been Victorious
Beautiful
En paz descanse Eusebio pegroza
Dall Italia tanto Amore. Riposa Campione.
Wow just discovered this guy. Makes more mad that Sal passed too early.
Two fighters who use angles
El Alacran!
The highlights from the Carrasquilla fight are ridiculous.
A notorious dirty fighter with serious foul play in his bouts, also defended against cans for the most part, he robbed Lockridge 2-0. Good skills and longevity at the end of the day
I wouldn't call him a 'cutie', but he was some kind of elusive. Fighting Pedroza was like fighting the air.
Great right lead also
& best best boxing
The prevention of Pedroza vs. Sanchez was a terrible disappointment for both of them and the fans.
Классный был боксер.
.
I wonder how fight with Pedroza and Sanchez or Nelson would be like.
Nelson and Sanchez had more power punching than Pedroza, however, his slick movement and skills would have been the difference. I would say at that time, I think Sanchez would have fared better than Azumah.
JESUS crafted head movement 👍🏾
I can see where Roy jones jr got some of his moves and footwork from
I thought the same thing.
yes, Roy Jones Jr have mention himself that Pedroza and Duran were two of the slickest boxers ever. He even said he copied a move from Duran, so I am not surprise that he also took something from Pedroza.
ruclips.net/video/M7W2fqCd8vA/видео.html
How on earth does Zamora knock this guy out? Pedroza defense is great.
Pedroza was still a young, learning fighter himself.
Roy Jones sent me here
Esto era esquivar golpes. No la corredera esa de maywether
The real Naseem Hamed!
Не Рой Джонс конечно ,но впечатляет👍👍👍
whats the song my man
LAINEKEN - Science Fixshun
thanks
No wonder mike tyson was inspired by this boxer. His defense is so similar
I've never seen anything in regards to Tyson being inspired by Pedroza. I'm sure he watched his fights but I don't think it had any influence on his defense or style.
@@hanzagod Mike Tyson said he used to watch pedroza fight. U can see the way pedroza bobs and weaves being similar to Mike
For sure he's watched Pedroza's fights because he's a student of the game and just a general big boxing fan however Pedroza didn't have any influence on Tyson's style. Watch Floyd Patterson and Jose Torres, the peek-a-boo boxing style created by Cus D'Amato.
Cuidado te pica el ALACRAN .RIP
He would have beaten Sanchez..
Great fighter but I'm not a big fan of dirty tactics and pedroza was up there still one of the best but he could've achieved greatness without being dirty that's how good he was so not a fan but great tribute and R.I.P
Panamenian school which died in 1989 after the USA invasion , gym, papers , books and people died . After that episode boxing in Panama doesn't exist anymore.
Eusebio era muy sucio aveces ._.
RIP Champ...
