    I miss when boxing was just important enough to show on broadcast TV on the weekends. CBS and NBC with title fights live and ABC often showing the mega fights on replay the following weekend.

    Hey coach ... we had so many of these back in the 90s. I need to find more of my father Vidal Rodriguez :) he also follows you. I appreciate the video you posted of him.. it brought me to tears. I've been on a journey looking for them.

    Rocky Lockridge: The man behind the crying meme and he was also a great boxer who was the WBA and IBF World Super Featherweight Champion but he's also remembered for his controversial defeats against three of the best Latin American boxers of all time: Eusebio Pedroza of Panama who was the WBA World Featherweight Champion for seven years; Wilfredo Bazooka Gómez of Puerto Rico who won the WBC World Super Bantamweight Championship establishing a 100% KO ratio in that weight class and he also won the WBC World Featherweight Championship defeating fellow Puerto Rican Juan Laporte and WBA World Super Featherweight Championship; and Julio César Chávez Sr of Mexico who won five World Championship belts in three weight classes: WBC World Super Featherweight Championship; WBA & WBC World Lightweight Championship and WBC & IBF World Super Lightweight Championship

      I disagree Eusebio won that fight by a close margin. 144-143.
      You should’ve seen the fight that he had with Laporte, that was a disgrace. Laporte won that fight by UD. And they gave him to Eusebio in the most despicable way! Laporte almost knocked out Pedroza out in the 3rd.

      @@videor44 You need glasses. 🤓 Eusebio did beat Rocky Lockridge but by slit decision. There’s no way in hell he won that fight by UD. This was very close. Eusebio might it won it in the 14th round. Because Rocky was ahead in the fight after 10 rounds.
      With Juan Laporte, Eusebio almost got Knocked out in the 3rd round. Juan Laporte in this fight beat Eusebio to the punch through out the fight.
      The best punches in this fight were thrown by Juan Laporte. Even Eusebio and his corner knew that they lost this fight. This fight was rigged because Eusebio Pedroza’s managers were trying to unified the title with Salvador Sanchez.

    My favourite all time featherweight champion is Pedroza. I truly believe a peak Pedroza beats both Sanchez and Nelson on points. His height and range and his movement and him being schooled in the dark arts of Panamanian boxing 🥊 makes him have more tools in his tool box I recon.

    • @kufujitsu
      @kufujitsu 2 года назад +1

      His ability to build momentum in the late rounds, is strength & physicality, & his infighting skills would have been a handful for better the known Sanchez & Gomez.
      An aging Pedroza wasn't at his best against McGuigan but he was still able to show that great footwork.
      Pedroza's name will always be associated with Sanchez even though they never fought.
      Gil Clancy kept saying Pedroza's arm punches on the inside were having no effect, but they were good enough to slow down Lockridge & many others as well.............

    Pedrozas a very dirty Fighter, end of 6th threw Rocky face 1st into the Corner Post, tried it again in 11th(?) gets Warnings for Low Blows & no Deduction, Why'd the Ref even give him Warnings? mucho Corruption on show imo, Panamanian Ref had 10 Rounds Pedroza SA Refs Score equally baffling, what a Sportsman Rocky is knows clearly Won Fight honourable in defeat, he should have been raging!
