1.14M subscribers would so love to count the blessings the staff at NSF have become used to. Keep counting them. You are truly blessed to be so close to the action at Starbase. You deliver to the rest of us both reality and dreams. xx
Love the narration!! I listen at work so a video with no narration is pretty useless unless I really focus. With narration I can look at it when something interesting happens
Now that I know there is a clubhouse, I like to imagine the flame tread episodes are all of you dudes hanging out there with a beer! And bacon of course…!
This. Have done fabrication drawings for steel stairs and guardrailing for years. It's almost always hardened glass. FYI, "plexiglass" is an acrylic based material, fairly durable but will shatter (like glass). Lexan is a polycarbonate material... is "tougher" than plexiglass, but easier to scratch
All too true! I watch on an iPhone and miss a lot of things I think, but now that they have these narrated versions (thanks Das!) I can more easily “see” what extra details the pics are focused on. Makes me wonder what I’ve been missing all this time 😢
Tampered glass panels, is what you where looking for. The stress relief curved cuts, goes all the way back too the dehavaland comet crashes, it had square windows and the cracks spread from the corners, causeing the crashes.
what are the odds SpaceX recovered the business end of the booster as much to keep the raptors out of the hands of foreign competitors as for their own post-mortem investigation?
I really think that SpaceX should ask NSF for some collaboration in the future footage of the 5th launch of Starship. There are always a bunch of details that you guys show and talk about, but SpaceX is focused on other things. Well, it looks like we won't have to wait until the end of November. Some relief with that! Let's all help with the show. 🚀
Suggestion: put a "no commentary audio track available" as an overlay at a very start of the video and maybe include a brief instruction on how to switch to that. BTW, I preferred this narrated format of "not so daily" Starbase updates. This is just for those who wants the "old" format and not fond digging into youtube settings.
10:35 You can see the Lyra constellation and head of Draco constellation in the background. It gives a hint which direction the camera looks and what it's field of view is.
Mary, it is so totally cool to meet another female structure “geek”. I would have wandered around that truck looking at the pancake piece for the longest time I could get away with! And I would totally sit watching traffic at the port with Julia for hours as well!!! I can dream of being there with you two someday as part of a bucket list vacation!
Friend just got his acceptance letter to work down at starbase as an electrician. Hes getting a pay rate and help moving (financial). So now i have more a incentive to go see a launch!
Did you drop the F-bomb at 12:49 when talking about the parking garage? A bit unclear so if you did you may have got away with it but it kinda sounded like that! Awesome and informative content as usual - keep up the good work guys - it is most appreciated!
@@NASASpaceflight Haha. Okay. Doesn't sound like that to me but hey, awesome content neverthelss. All the best to the whole NSF crew and can't wait for IFT5 (hopefully happening this Saturday).
Question-with all the prep for catching the booster-what about the Starship itself. I mean will it be discarded into the ocean or are they going to catch it after a few catches of the booster to see if the catch goes according to plan??
Does anyone know how the chopsticks system works? That is a lot of weight to quickly move and lower. If anyone has any resources to look at, that would also be super cool!
"Anything can be a UFO if you are bad at identifying flying objects." - John Galloway EDIT: Accidently attributed to the photographer... P.S. This had me laughing.
Does anyone know where the large steel OLM parts are fabricated, and by whom? I'm assuming SpaceX hires fabricators. Are the parts made locally in the Brownsville port area, or farther away like Corpus? I haven't seen any footage of parts arriving on barges at the port, so I'm assuming the entire transport is by truck.
We NEED a joint DAS+Jack commentary!!!
Thanks DAS awesome commentary! Thank you & NSF!
Thanks Dos for coming back to the announcement side of the channel along with all the other things you do for NSF...
I love it when a plan comes together [🎶 DUN, DUN-DUN… 🎶]

I love this guys talking! Thank you Das for doing the commentary.
DAS in Boca is great to hear…
Watch out David Attenborough, Das and Jack are coming for your job.
Great video by Jack and Mary🌺🌺🌺 , thanks NSF team for another informative update.
"Here we see a Pancake Plate in its native habitat".
Thanks for another update! Wow, things changed so quickly
Those "pancake plates" looked as if they came straight from a NY suburb. The dolphin escort was cool. That was a Long Turtle.
all my thought encapsulated in a single comment, what a day
Amazing shots with the turtle and the dolphin! Thx Das and the team
A dolphin named Tank would give a whole new meaning to Tank watching.... Sawyer take note... lol
Great pun. Here's a token of my appreciation!
Maybe a turtle named Tank? Easier to keep track of lol
"Anything can be a UFO if you're not very good at identifying flying objects"....😂
The UFO joke was S tier comedy btw. 😂
The numbers on the I beam could indicate the welding sequence to minimise distortion.
Huh, that's interesting! Never thought of it, but makes sense 👍 - Das
When they load pyro to the self destruct devices i will know that SpaceX is serious about launching.
FTS explosives being installed today.

@ 1.57 “as the clouds ROIL in the background” - exemplary use of the English language. 👏👏👏Well dun DAS, ewe mustv gon to a gud skool. 😊
Lots of SAT vocabulary worksheets! 😅 - Das
8:28 Mary is the best! 😂
That internal railing on the office building is more than likely safety glass like a car's windshield, Das.

thank you to all the team for there hard work getting these views to us to see how progress going
Das commentary - DOLPHINS!!!! Awesome!!!!!!
SoaceX to FAA: Na, thats not us flying. Its UFO. Nothing to see here.
As always super informative, you voice is just pure gold for this narrated part of nsf. Keep this up!
So, if B12 gets caught, will it be static fired, or just put on display?
Hoping for a Static fire of all 33 engines once more
Probably just torn apart and studied.
@@EMichaelBall I think they will check if everything is okay and if soo, static fired !
Love the Das commentary! Otherwise I probably wouldn’t have looked for the dolphins or the sea turtle. Very cool!

You can tell, because of the way that it is! Love the VGG shout out!
Oh god now someone is going to make a stl of OLM 2 and im going to have to print it
what are the odds SpaceX recovered the business end of the booster as much to keep the raptors out of the hands of foreign competitors as for their own post-mortem investigation?
loved the style of this video
I love this guy talking!
Das been watching VGG
Das lights up my life.
I need the commentary. Don't let the haters get you down.
Those look like deluge plates with water cavity.
Yep! Same exact design in fact, so we might get a crazy looking OLM when it turns on
i was drinking cola with ice and accidently swallowed a ice "cube" lol
my throat is freezing, luckily it wasnt big enough to get stuck

Waiting for dolphin cam. Just a camera at CC or Brownsville for watching boats come in and out

More brilliant shots from Mary!
thank you DAS and Mary
The very best part in this video @ 06:00. Das Beatboxing.. I just love that ^^

9:28 How do they weld those things in such confined spaces. (pancake plate with welders code scrawled on).
Nice work Mary!
Could the parking garage cladding be sound suppression? It's mainly on the launch side of starbase.
That cladding is on the south-west wall (facing Sanchez), so facing away from the launch site.
It’s actually facing away from the pad
Jack and NSF, y'all rock! Peace
@NASA love to hear you again, miss you 😅
Thanks NSF team

Has a time window for launch been released? I am crossing my fingers that I won't be at work yet 🤞🤞
7:00 AM CDT
@@bryanillenberg NICE! That's only 5am my time I'll have plenty of time 🚀
@@jblob5764 Thats rough.

My Next Spaceflight app say " Starship Flight 5" Starship - Super Heavy (Prototype) Starbase Texas, USA Sunday 5am!!!
YEAAH FLIGHT 5 HYPE IS REAL 🗣️🔥
Imagine "strapping" 2 Falcon Heavy side boosters to the first stage.
Yea Das! Wish I could be there...
So...not full WDR this time...hmmm...
those pancake parts kinda look like water plates like they did on tower #1 water deluge plates with all the holes
Question-with all the prep for catching the booster-what about the Starship itself. I mean will it be discarded into the ocean or are they going to catch it after a few catches of the booster to see if the catch goes according to plan??
Seems like they will try and retrieve it off the coast of northwest Australia..
Did I like it, "Yep"!
Come on NASA ,, it is time for you to step forward and take over the Licencing of Starship launches if you want to reach the Moon anytime soon. 😂✌
So far we’ve only seen pez dispenser for starship. Has SpaceX say or show how they plan to do cargo door for regular satellites ?
Have we seen FTS yet?
No
Love your channel but some of these closeup shots of parts are being scrutinized by our near peer adversaries. Please use a wee more discretion.
I think people who think ambient audio is better are smoking better weed than me.
DnB FTW!
How is the main stage secured to the booster? Explosive bolts? I realized I have no idea even how Apollo did it?
Boca Chica Airforce 😂😂
Perfect
Spray on the lens in the "Ship 30 Press Plate Removed" segment??
Looking forward to it

I haven’t heard any conversations about the flight termination. Has anyone seen activity related to the flight termination?
Pumped!
Imagine the hurricane headed for boca chica
rumor? have the IFT'S been installed on F5
Must have been a slow day, half of the video was dolphins and close ups of the same steel plates welded together lol
Stop the comments. Leave the recaps to jack and that beautifully handsome brit!
Where are the olm 2 parts coming from??
Two Model 3s following the UFO ... one with original style and one with the Highland update
