A7X is the king of metal ballads, but to be honest, Blackbird by Alter Bridge is the best metal ballad ever.
"Waking the Fallen" is just unreal. So glad they're doing a re-release with bonus stuff in August. I can't wait.
i've listened to that whole album probably 300 times and still never get tired of its epicness!
DirtyButNerdy It's one of those albums that I put on, and leave it on for like a week... and then when I put on a different album by a different band, it feels inferior to "Waking the Fallen" haha

this has to be one of the best concerts from them, people go to see this song, not ready to die, and scream for the first time in a long long time. i'm jealous.
Despite the "mediocre" recording, what an awesome performance. Never thought Matt could live up to the song on stage.
Check out the performance of this song live in Ventura, the quality is great and that performance is one of the only ones I can honestly say is better than the studio recording

When I hear people say the stuff they hear on the radio is shit compared to the old days and there is alot of auto-tune pop crap out there I can't agree more... but avenged sevenfold is definitely one of the very few nowadays to make great inspirational music that has meaning! Greatest Band!

God I wanna see this live again. I was lucky enough to catch them on their 2007 tour, when they played this and Remenissions...and it's still one of the most amazing live performances I've ever seen!
I was at this show and this was probably the most solid song they played the entire show. He may not have hit those high notes at the end but I loved the way he sang it...sounded awesome.
Such a powerful song. I really feel for the guys of A7X, especially Brian (Syn), since the 5 year anniversary is coming up of the Rev's passing on the 28th of December. You know that's got to be hard for them. Thank God they are continuing on, keeping Jimmy's dream alive by playing his music all the time. Wonderful way to celebrate his life. :)

i am one of a7x's biggest fans. i went to the uproar in detroit and i am sooooo glad they played older songs. i love every single one of their songs equally but it was just great to hear them play older songs to let us know that they still can pull them off.

OMFG! This is my absolute favorite song, and I've been dying to see it live. It would have been a very special moment for me. I saw A7X last year, and wanted to see them at this exact show as well, but I was tight on money and the setlist looked like it was going to be exactly the same. I can't believe they played this song and I missed it... I am beside myself.

I love how they all go towards the drumset and get very close when the song is very calm and eventually they turn back to the crowd when the song kicks back in!

favorite A7X song, i always said i'd kill to see them play it live, and now 8 years since i discovered them and fell in love with this song, i'll finally get to see it next week. i've seen them 3 times now and the only songs pre-City Of Evil i've seen them play were Unholy Confessions, Second Heartbeat, Eternal Rest, We Come Out At Night and Chapter Four, so i'm STOKED to hear some more old stuff on this tour.

you're correct my good sir, this song was written for Matt's best friend who committed suicide, Justin Sane was their bassist before Johnny, he suffered from depression and would drink bottles of cough syrup to try to kill himself hence the line "As bottles call my name I wont see you tonight"

This was my first a7x show, actually my first concert ever, and they played some of my favorite songs! I cried during this one...
I was just reading all the comments... and to the comments about the crowd.. The crowd was actually awesome.. the WHOLE place was standing up.. IWSYT is a mellow kinda song and it was dedicated to the REV so it was kinda sad/awesome/goosebumps/the whole 9 yards if you know what I mean.. plus, as stated the concert was changed to a tuesday night because of the hurricane so a lot of people couldnt make it.. it was AMAZING, every single song.. and the crowd rocked out! trust me..
So much pain in this song..I'm glad they mastered it..hope they place tthis and not ready to die in calgary and ill be set on life...this song deffinetly means a lot to me.
