Rogue one and Andor, these two Star Wars project capture the essence of Star Wars I haven’t felt since return of the Jedi. The clone wars, rebels, Jedi and Sith stuff, it’s good lore food, but I never got the spirit of the original film until I watched Rogue One, then Andor comes and only cements my love for Star Wars and how everything came to be
The heroes that shouldered luke and leia to succeed needs to talk about enough, I actually like their stories more, how they funded the rebellion and how it got to be fair
@@DoremiFasolatido1979 It did. The story about Andor bombing is a myth and it was the only SW show to increase in viewership rather than lose it over the season
Damn ! That was so good. Both opus rely on hope and selflessness. Recently I was thinking about the speeches in Andor and how I could recall several of them (while I can't remember a single line from Kenobi). Maarva's and Luthen's speeches are so good.
There will be times when the struggle seems impossible. I know this already. Alone, unsure, dwarfed by the scale of the enemy. Remember this: freedom is a pure idea. It occurs spontaneously and without instruction. Random acts of insurrection are occurring constantly throughout the galaxy. There are whole armies, battalions that have no idea that they’ve already enlisted in the cause. Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward. And then remember this: The Imperial need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear. Remember that. And know this, the day will come when all these skirmishes and battles, these moments of defiance will have flooded the banks of the Empire’s authority, and then there will be one too many. One single thing will break the siege. Remember this: try. - Nemik’s manifesto
There are Andor and Rogue One… and, somewhere far, far away, is everything else Star Wars. Nothing comes close to the original spirit of Star Wars, or captures the thrill of Star Wars, the way Andor and Rogue One. Nothing is in their league.
I do find it interesting, when Andor was being shown live each week on Disney + the comments in forums and on youtube were almost entirely negative. "What a snore fest, worst SW show of all time, it's not star wars, dull, no light sabres or action etc.." I suspected most of them were from people who either had not bothered to watch it or had seen episode 1, maybe up to 2 and then stopped watching. But now comment threads seem to be almost entirely filled with glowing comments on how it's the best thing in the entire franchise. Don't get me wrong I love Andor, it is maybe the joint best TV show from last year alongside Severance. I am just puzzled in how it went from the worst to the best?
Just remember this.....without Maarva or Brasso or Wilmon Paak or Melshi or Kino or Ulaf or Chirrut or Baze or Saw or K-2SO or Mon Mothma or Galen or Jyn.....or.....Cassian.....Luke would not be in Red 5 in the Trench.
