Just started using the Carols Daughter wash day delight clarifying shampoo water to foam as well. It has an applicator tip which I love. Thanks for the tips bcz I haven’t been using a moisturizing shampoo and I colored red. I am learning so much from this channel!
2 shampoos that I alternate on are Trader Joe's Tingle Tea Tree and Giovanni 50/50 hydrating-clarifying. As my SL's mature (13 months in) I will check out that Aveda when I'm fully locked.
I have sisterlocks and I love Carol’s Daughter Wash Day Delight shampoo it’s a water to foam cleanser it works great. Check it out if you get a chance.
I'm surprised when people recommend Dr. Bronners. How long have you used it? I ask because over time I notice it leaves a cast/film on the hair, no matter how much it is rinsed out. If you have tips on how to avoid this please share.
I recommend Dr. Bronners for newer locs. I've only used on my baby locs when I was trying to loc. (less than 6 months) But once my hair locd, I transition to a moisturizing shampoo. When I used it, I didn't noticed a film and my clients that use it haven't had that problem either. I have also used it on my kids hair but they have a very loose texture and they only thing I notice was it being dry. If you're experiencing the film, I would suggest using a deep cleansing or clarifying shampoo like Suave. It leave your locs squeaky clean. But if you are mature, then I would follow up with a moisturizing shampoo so it's not too dry. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I'll check to see if others have that issue.
Have you ever used Alaffia’s Authentic African Black Soap ? I love it! THOUGH I just installed microlocks and I think it might be too moisturizing. I used it & thought “ Is this the same hair? I think it clarified my hair before the process my hair was like an shrinking interlocking nest like 4b (which I thought was perfect for locking) when I used it after I thought my hair instantly changed to like 3c or something, almost curly and springy, very weird but I like it… alas I think maybe it is too moisturized and I have to use a better clarifying shampoo if I want a chance at locking
Are there any special circumstances where you would recommend a moisturizing shampoo during the pre-mature phase? Like for someone who started out with extremely hair before locking.
That Aveda products are the truth.😌 My natural hair stylist used it on my hair during my service and recommended that I use the shampoo and conditioner on my low porosity hair at home. It is so good, but it's very pricey, but you ONLY need a little like a quarter size or under to wash your hair. What clarifying shampoo by Aveda should I buy until my locs mature???
I have an install for my SL coming up in 3 months. I’m so excited!! I was told to use only clarifying shampoo no conditioner. My question is: I have fine medium density hair. How do I prevent my hair from getting extremely dry and breaking?
Definitely talk to you consultant but I have my clients use a water-base leave in conditioner and depending on the curl pattern and scalp condition, I have them oil their scalp with a lightweight, non-greasy and quick absorption oil. All could be found on my site www.entoibeauty.com
Hi, there. Will you give visual examples of clients with grey hair and the best purple shampoos that you have used to keep these silver fixes looking their best at the grey game? Love your channel. I have done my own locs from install to now two years later. I love them. Yes, I am transitioning from henna when I first started with 2-3 inches of hair, interlocked from tip to root, and now they are just starting to feel and look mature. It was a struggle, because grey hairs are a different animal to deal with, but they final stay in their assigned lanes, and I am extatic at how they turned out. Anyway, I don't see much about silver foxes. Do you have any silver foxes for clients?
My sister locs are 4 years old, Is the averse dry remedy shampoo and conditioner okay to use? Also what is the name of the water base conditioner that you use? Thanks
4 years into your journey, I will assume that you are completely locd. If so, then yes, you can use the dry remedy shampoo and conditioner (amzn.to/3na0BR9). As far as leave in conditioners, here are a couple of my faves ruclips.net/video/edg_hqego9s/видео.html
What do you recommended if you’ve colored your hair? I’ve colored my hair about a month ago. I’m 10 months into my sisterlocs journey and we had to bleach my hair to get the color I wanted to achieve. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks in advanced. 😊
Since you've bleached your hair, definitely the olaplex shampoo & conditioner as well as the Bond Smoother leave in conditioner (Olaplex system helps to repair the hair bonds. If you can't access that, then Aveda Dry Remedy Shampoo & Conditioner because it will help keep the har soft & nourished. Color is very drying, especially bleaching. So keeping it moisturized is key to prevent breakage. Watch my color video to get more info.
Thank you 🙏🏾 God send cause my hair is so dry from the Sisterlocs shampoo and I did start off with color blonde yes and after a year I color it again not as much highlights but there was some but my Locs are sososo dry so I will order the first shampoo you said cause I was looking for moisturizer shampoo and conditioner Cause I have try protein conditioner and even had the steam conditioner
You are so welcome. Too much protein can hardens the hair so I can see how it still felt dry. Dry Remedy should help you out and use a leave in conditioner often since you have blonde locs. Also, not sure about how often you shampoo but weekly or every other week should help as well.
I use the Aveda Clarifying Rosemary Mint Shampoo and it’s the best. It’s pricey but they make amazing products
Yes, they do make amazing products
I love love Aveda dry remedy shampoo and conditioner

I love tea tree oil...

Way late but Dr Bronner does the same to me. My hair just never feels clean
Sis said- "We can't do dat" 😆 Thanks for the good info as always 🙏🏾
LOL, Exactly!! Not for us.

Glad you're enjoying it
I use the Melanin shampoo and I like it. Do you know of anyone else who has used it?
I actually don't, sorry.

I honestly don't recommend it at all. Too risky. I know it's hard but hang in there. You don't want to invest another fee to fix slippage.

You should be okay with the Rosemary Mint shampoo amzn.to/3JxY7rm
It's not as stripping as suave clarifying Shampoo

I’ll definitely check that out now. Thank you so much! I appreciate you responding.
What do you recommend since the Aveda shampoo has been discontinued? Reviews seem to indicate ppl don’t like the NutriPlenish as much. TIA!!
You can always try the influance products

I don't have that many gray locs clients but if an opportunity comes up, I'll definitely do a video
Aveda has a blonde revival purple toning shampoo, I wonder if this will work for gray hair, as I am gray as well and would like to know.
??
you can make your own purple shampoo, just google it
Thank you for sharing this content. Soo informative 👌

Aveda has a clarifying shampoo too. I’ve been eyeing it but not sure if it’s good for locs
It should be fine to use.
Shea moisture jbco is also a good clarifying shampoo even though I am already fully loc’d I use it every 3 weeks
Awesome! Thanks for the recommendation
how long after bleaching your loose hair can start locs... traditional locs medium sized?
Depends. If it's not shedding you should be fine to start. However, moisture will be very important
I’m 16 months in with sisterlocs. I want to transition from the sisterlocs starter shampoo. What are some recommendations?
You can try the Influance Deep Cleansing Shampoo
I use mane n tail provvitamin B5 . It has alcohol in it. Should i not use this conditioner?
If it's not the first 3 to 5 ingredients on the list, it's fine
I’m getting my install in a month can I dye my hair black without a problem?
Yes, you can color it black
What part of journey with sisterlocks are locs considered matured?
When it has dropped
That was my question aswell. Ty
Great content👍🏾
Thank you, Pauline 😍😍😍
Where can we purchase the hydrolocs shampoo
It was on Amazon but it's no longer there. It's mostly sold at salons.
Great video. Thank you 😊
Thanks for watching!
I use the shampoo also.
Awesome!
I Waldo use T/gel shampoo because of my dandruff.
Yes, use what's best for you to keep dandruff at bay
Does anybody used creme of nature argan oil shampoo ?
