it is a sad day when the middle class worker cannot even afford the base model 4runner anymore. the average cost of a 4runner is up 40% over 2 years....
I just bought a 2016 with 80k. You can do it, but not if you aren't very careful and smart with your money. Brand new.... not likely. Unless it's a Honda Civic the middle class could never afford a brand-new high end truck.
@@ryanm4013that seems highly dependent on your needs. If you’re not going to do any true off roading, saving some money and getting the SR5 Premium would be the way to go for a lot of people. The SR5 itself is more capable off road than most people need.
Great job on presenting the SR5 Premium. Solid information I was looking for. I have been torn on choosing the Limited or the premium but after watching this video I feel the best dollar for dollar value is the SR5 Premium. Thank You
IMHO, Spend a few grand extra for the TRD off road premium for the crawl control, multi terrain select, rear lock differential, optional KDSS suspension, moon roof, 360 panoramic cameras, heated seats, heated wipers, heated mirrors, TRD leather interior, hood scoop, better choice in exclusive colors (army green, lunar rock) etc.
I had one of these as a rental while my Equinox was in the collision shop. Took a bit at 1st to get used to but despite the 4-Runner’s truckish nature, these drive and ride very smooth
Good camerawork, Jeff! Also third finger! I enjoyed her presentation & getting to know the 4Runner. David from Automotive Press recently said Tahara is the best Toyota factory in the world.
Excellent review on the features of the 4Runner, which IMO, is the best SUV on the road today. One item that I like in my 4Runner is the reclining rear seats, I think all models have this feature. Also as you noted, when the rear seats are folded, there is as much room in the back as a Tacoma bed. I have a 2022 TRDOR Premium, which is a way better value than the TRD PRO, fantastic vehicle and my second 4Runner.
Good review indeed! Always wanted a 4Runner, and a couple weeks ago I took a spin on one. One of neighbors let me take his '22 Limited. My main concern was Will the hood not let me see over or would I no be able to see where the hood ends? It's after all a long vehicle. My test drive dissipated my doubts. Comfortable, secure, handles with aplomb. Large physical buttons with minimum digital. This is a truck w/body on frame. It bucks but the ride is composed and responsive. Love it, but I don't live in the Carolinas. Missouri.
I just purchased a 2022 4 runner with 17k miles on it. Looking for recommendations on what to use to or where to take to get undercoating to prevent rust. I live in PA. TY!
May I suggest showing the above-head center console as well? It has the A-trac button, etc. I'm usually curious which 4runner trims have which things: I believe that one would have a-trac but no locker, right? And obviously no crawl control and no multi-terrain select, right? Great presentation!
You are correct. This one has A-Trac and 4wd with 4low. If you want crawl control, lockers, and multi-terrain, you have to buy the TRD! Anything TRD has those options.
I was just quoted 47600 for an SR5 premium. Meanwhile at another dealership I was quoted 47400 for an offroad premium. I'm confused. Why would they want more for the SR5? Thought they were less money. Not more.
Very thorough review of the car, well done! Best l've watched 😻For those planning to sleep in the back 06:03 unfortunately, the 4Runner is a bit tight. l'm 5'10 and l could not stretch at the back with the back seats reclined (as shown in the video). Real shame as l love the 4runner.
Nice Informative video. Does the SR5 Premium have the same safety feature options as the limited? Also have you heard any updates on changes for the 2023 model? Again a very well done video.
@@mommynova- That’s awesome! I’ve just recently started watching your videos, you guys do a great job and keep up the great work! Thank you so much for your response too, how cool! 😎
Christina did a pretty good presentation: she seemed a little hesitant about describing the engine specs; she might want to hang out with some gear heads and gain some knowledge, experience and confidence about engines/drivetrains for next time! Good job Kristina!
The bounce though 😬 I rented one of these recently because I’d like to buy one, but every time I hit the brakes the vehicle dipped forward, dipped back, and just rocked. It seemed like poor shocks but another RUclips channel says that’s how the 4Runner functions. It is otherwise a really fun vehicle that is excellent for the price.
Great description of how a truck handles… I am thinking about a 4runner too. Coming from a Sorento with creature comforts I wonder how jarring the difference will be. Still, can’t beat the reliability. 💯
I’m sorry but this car looks awful for 2022 it looks dated on the outside I really didn’t believe it was that new of a vehicle it looks plain and boring inside so much for Toyota not making boring vehicles anymore. And just simple things like they haven’t even got up to the USBC outlets on the truck let alone which is literally standard on every SVV now no power lift gate! Huge pass
Who the fuck says it's boring? Not 4runner lovers. You early dont respect or see the beauty in the 4runners. You aren't about the that life. Go buy a jeep or dodge product with gimmicky gadgets. Il stick with my 4runner off-road premium over anything else. Nothing about a 4runner is boring in my offroad premium. Looks way better than this trim level

We have the same SR5 premium except in black with TRD wheels...incredible vehicle...we've got 22 mpg on a trip to California and I was impressed
I wanted the black on black, but it was gone when I went back., so I got the dark gray. , love my truck
You can also roll the rear window up and down from those buttons on the back, have the key in your pocket and with all doors shut hold up or down

The average cost of all cars is up tremendously over the last 2 years not just the 4 runner.
Fraudulent presidential elections have serious consequences.
Yes but thats just temporary
Blame it on the middle class workers who voted for Obama and most recently Biden🙄

I got SR5 Premium with 4X4 and 3rd row option, the best configuration according to me.
So hard to find😩
Off Road Premium is a much better trim. 3rd row is worthless to seat anyone above 4’ tall.

Favorite would be ‘21 pro in Lunar. I have a 21 SR5 premium and dig it. A tad jealous of the ‘22’s blind spot monitoring.

The off road models do this because of the shocks, if you look at the non off road models the shocks are not as bouncy.
