@@philipb867 I thought you were wrong, but the manual says "3. Before switching the machine ‘ON’: • Remove the transit strap, which is used to secure the lid assembly to the drum body, before use. Never use the machine with this strap fitted as it is designed purely to protect the machine during transit."
I'm jealous, I was 65 before I got my first bandsaw. My grandson 10 yrs old and lives with us he loves the shop and has to be down there every time I go down there. Have fun with your new toy John
I'm Jealous my grandson lives 500 miles away and I'd love to have him in my shop, I'd love to pass the woodworking bug down because my son won''t do manual labor. Neither of my son's will. I'd grab a negibor kid and teach them but people don't do that anymore. Too many creeps in the world screwed that up. I remember a 65 year old man teaching me how to tie Flies when I was a kid, then take me fishing. He passed away years ago but his memory is still wit me, I'll never forget that, Nor will your grandson. After your gone he will cherish the tools you left him. My Mom's dad did woodworking, my dad did woodworking I remember helping him build boats in the basement when I was 5 years old I'm 59 now. My oldest brother took all his tools, but I got to keep the memories.
The outtakes were hilarious and having that camera on you makes it easy to appreciate what the pros are doing, but practice does master. :) Hope to see more videos from you. Your persona seems so calm and soothing, lol.
Glad you like it. Not so sure my family would agree on me having a calm and soothing persona all the time but glad you experienced that affect here! ;-) Hahaha. I hope to add more videos soon. Thank you. Stay tuned!!
Here's the link: www.recordpower.co.uk/product/premium-14-bandsaw#.WkbMCSOcZ0s. I bought it at a tool show, which are good events to go to for limited show time only discounts.
Thanks Sue. Only just saw message!! Oops... I have since done some research and purchased a similar machine, 14” Charnwood B350 + Charnwood Tablesaw W619, just a newbie ...both arrive tomorrow , looking at the dust extraction...Record seems to be adequate, I notice you didn’t have to wear a mask! On the bandsaw cuts..Does it do what it says on the tin? Thanks, been watching all the vids 👍👍👍
Looks a lot better than my CX2600 Record Power which just fills the room with dust when you turn it on... although it great at picking up chipping (but isn't called that its a dust extractor) allegedly - I am looking at investing in the DX4000 on being an extractor for all of my workshop
And I've been just told by Record Power support that this extractor not meant to be used with table saws, bandsaws and planers.... As it was not designed for it.... well where is a mistake?
@@niallchurch2679 who knows... they say it is not for this machines.... maybe it is a shopvac to clean dust from the floor, but any vac can do that... much cheaper for sure
The strap is there to lock the motor onto the bin. It is removed for emptying the container. It is meant to be attached all the time.
no it is not, not on this model.

Which bandsaw is that and please post a link to the ‘easy on/off’ adapter thanks.
How much more 'sucking power' does it have compared to the Henry hoover under the bench at the beginning of the video, Thank you
Hi Sue was watching your video about the Dx1000 and decided to get one and they have such a strong suction thank you

Is it a loud vacuum?
Hi Sue, its "Japanese Tom" here! Super jealous of your workshop, its looking amazing!
Hi Japanese Tom!! Nice to hear from you. Thank you. It's taken me a while, and I'm always still trying to improve it. Hope you are still woodworking.
Do you use your dust extractor also for your lathe? Does is work well?
My 2 new machines arrived,...really fancy this DX100 extraction..👍👍👍👍
Great news! Hope it's helping to keep your work space and lungs dust-free.
Why did you decide on the record bandsaw ? sounds very quiet!
Great videos Thanks again. Is the bandsaw heavy duty, has it a 14 “ throat? Price etc...

Just so you know, the extractor is quite loud, she has decreased the audio of it considerably.
It is, that's true. I definitely put my ear plugs in when is use!
