* I explain, how this type of dust extractor works compared to other types.
* I show you all the parts that are contained, the assembly and do a first test on how well the machine copes with various types of chips and dust.
* I also show how you can use two extra hoses to reduce the noise level.

I explain the details in this video: • MY PARTNER COMPANIES -...
I want to let you know that I cooperate with a couple of tool companies. Occasionally, they provide me with some of their tools for me to use in the shop.
But: Whenever you see me using a tool it means that I like it and think it’s worth using. When I do a review, I tell you my honest opinion.
I want to be transparent about these partnerships, however, so that you’re not kept in the dark and can make up your own mind if you think I’m in fact unbiased or not.
My partner companies are: Bessey, Kreg, Maschinenhandel Meyer, Triton, Wolfcraft (as of 02/2018)

Do you have any experience with this type of dust extractor? If you have the other type, can you confirm that reducing the hose size makes is less efficient? Thanks for your feedback!
I have a Record Power DX4000 and Record says I don't need that clamping ring to hold the top on to the barrel. Might be different for your machine. It's for transport only.
Andreas Kalt are you impressed with this extractor? I'm looking at buying the twin motor but wall mounted. I want to run a 2.5" hose 19ft across my shop. Do you think it's powerful enough? Thanks
Hi Andreas,
thank you for your video and the "first look" about this machine!
Thomas 🖐🏼
Thanks for watching, Thomas. You’re welcome!
Looks good. Thanks for a thorough intro to the machine. 👍🏻. I should add that your accent is a fabulous mix of Irish and German: unique to my ears but great to listen to 👍🏻😊
Thanks very much Tony - I’m glad to hear that I still have my Irish accent (I spent a year in Galway in 1999/2000)
Andreas Kalt actually when I listen to you I’d say you were a native English speaker with an Irish accent who’d maybe lived in Germany and picked up a German accent not the other way round 👍🏻😊. Either way great commentary and keep up the good work 👍🏻
Now you’ve made my day :-). Go raibh maith agat. Take care!
I was looking at getting that machine. Now you have persuaded me.
It does look convincing to me - and very powerful.
Nice review I've actually just bought a single motor one of these for my workshop
good Video Andreas. I like the way of explaining this 2 Motor Type. I have the one Motor CGV 286 (look at my playlist) and happy with it. I reduced from the 100mm down to 63mm and then to 32mm and it works good. but if you reduce the diamater once then you have to stay with that. if you increase the diamater when already reduced it before, the efficiency will not be as wanted. thanks for sharing.
Thanks for your feedback, Appi. I watched both your videos - and found it funny and interesting that you had picked the same type of machine. So far, mine leave a good impression as well!
Andreas Kalt well, I think, if it fits well and is a solution that brings you near to a cleaner Shop everything is good 😎
very nice new toy you have their Andreas. as far as how efficient it is switching to a smaller hose that's the same story I always heard. good luck with your new toy and I hope it works very well for you
+Opa's Workshop thanks Opa.
I know this is an old video, but I just found out that the transit strap for my DX1000 should be removed in use! I just checked the manual for the CGV 386 and it says the same thing." 3. Before switching the machine ‘ON’:
• Remove the transit strap, which is used to secure the lid assembly to the drum body,
before use. Never use the machine with this strap fitted as it is designed purely to protect
the machine during transit." This seems strange as it seems a useful way to secure the lid?? Hope its quieter than the DX1000.
Nice unboxing, thumbs up! 👍
Thanks AoK
Thank you for showing Andreas
You’re welcome Peter. Glad you liked it.
Very nice my friend I like it Andreas awesome man :)
Thanks TJ!
Hi Andreas, mate similar to that I have a scheppach German designed extractor on a couple of machines, what you have is made in England I think ? Not sure but from my workshop I use ryobi vacs as well & my table saw & bandsaw are hooked up to a traditional big filter & bag system, at the end of the day we can never make perfect solutions so go with what's known & how you see it best for you, Prost und Paulaner ist doch Eisner gutes bier, good work 👍👍👍
+Dirk Gibbons Thanks for your feedback Dirk. It definitely is a huge improvement to my weak shop vac
Sehr cooler Anfang! Danke für den Link!
+Henning Gohlke Danke und gerne :-)
Hi Andreas, did you get the 100mm -> 60mm adapter and the shopvac kit from the same supplier as your extractor? - I have a CGV 286 and have been finding it difficult to get an adapter that size. Many thanks
Yes, I got it here: www.holz-metall.info/shop1/kategorie428.htm - maybe they ship to your country? Or you can ask them where to get one?
Thanks, I'll email them - EU too, so I'm hopeful! :)
seems an odd design to have the internal bag. I would have thought that would stop the cyclone working ?
The bag is not for dust but works as an air filter. When the motors run the bag gets sucked to the center and away from the outer wall of the barrel. That way, the dust can cycle along the outer wall.
Yeah I realise it's a filter just thought it would catch dust and chips spinning in the cyclone. As you say it sucks in out of the way though 👍
It seems to work fine. Of course, the bag gets clogged up over time but that’s with fine dust that gets sucked towards the motor.
I bought one of these yesterday at a promotional event. only £255 instead of normal £320! Bit annoyed that it doesn't come with a hose though. That was £20 extra!
I suppose that it doesn’t make much sense to include a hose since everyone will need different sizes and lenghts. Enjoy the machine.
Would this be powerful enough for ducting?
I think so - at some point this year I’m planning to try it out.
Andreas Kalt Thank you for replying. That would be great!
ah that sucks - LOL
I can tell you it sucks BIG TIME! ;-)
