You’ve probably spotted a trend here by now, but a core theme of Mob Psycho 100 is the idea that psychic powers aren’t a substitute for living a real life. The Ultimate Five are beaten because they think their psychic powers make them better than everyone else, but the truth is they’re just hiding their normal weaknesses. The brute esper uses his powers like steroids, but Dimple and the Body Improvement captain shows that diligently built muscles gained through training are stronger. The electronics esper controls machines with his psychic powers, but he’s still just a weak geek who Sho suplexes like any other nerd. The plant guy is completely helpless when Mogami takes away his control over plants. And Shimazaki becomes strong enough to beat almost any other psychic by using his Mind’s Eye, focusing his psychic powers to focus only on espers so he can instantly teleport between them to attack before any of them can react… and in doing so fully becomes blind to the normal world, allowing a completely normal human to ambush him. And it’s REALLY funny that in the midst of this crazy action, Reigen is worried about the legal ramifications of beating up a blind man. Because unlike these supposed superior psychics, Reigen lives in the real world and has real world problems.
Mogami is an extremely important character cause he’s the only one who tells Mob to be hard on people because it’s required sometimes. We spend the entire series with characters, even Mob himself, who are trying to be careful but Mogami is the only one going against the grain.
Yes thats why I like Mogami. He is very realistic in his expectation of the world. More likely what a person would do if they got powers like Mob and Mogami.
mogami is easily one of my favorite characters in the whole series. i think a lot of people misunderstand why he chose to put mob through that fake world for so long, which leads to a lot of people viewing him as a more 2 dimensional villain. it’s clear he does genuinely care for mob if you look just a little deeper than the surface, and in some ways, he definitely changed mob for the better. hell, i don’t think mob would have been able to stand up to reigen in episode 6 if it weren’t for what mogami taught him.
It's very exciting that we are now supporting Teru, because when we first met him we just hated him.... This series has that, it really makes you see that everyone has something you can value, they just have to show it.

Rather than just making it about power, perhaps we can word it more generally: Reigen took Mob in, and despite using his powers for himself, Reigen helped Mob develop and grow as a person. Suzuki took Umbrella guy in, but so far Umbrella guy has seemed very much dependent or, better said, obedient without thinking for himself beyond "Master is cool".

I wonder, though - are you guys planning on reacting to Yu Yu Hakusho, Tower Of God or Hunter X Hunter? All of these would be MAJOR recommendations from me. YYH is very much your 90s battle shonen, although there are certain underlying themes like purpose as well - generally, if you like DBZ, you're gonna like YYH. (Funnily enough, YYH is gonna get a LA adaptation as well - although I'm gonna stay realistic here - it's probably gonna be bad rather than another One Piece-like success) Hunter X Hunter is probably the only manga I've ever read with better, more complete (despite more complex) writing than FMA:B. And Tower of God is a short (only 1 season out atm but S2 coming soon) but one of the most interesting and captivating korean Manwha in recent times. I just feel like it's something you're really gonna enjoy!

Just a heads up: Unfortunately it's one of the shows where spoiling happens a lot, be it through hyping things up or excessive hinting - most of the time there's no malicious intent behind it and the people who have seen the show 5 times just want to point out some tiny bit of foreshadowing or symbolism that basically everyone misses on their first watch. But having it presented to you may cause situations where you can just put 2 and 2 together and have an idea about what's probably gonna happen. For the most part I think you're gonna be decently save if you are a few episodes ahead, but for a few instances that hyping and hinting can start as many as 30-40 episodes before stuff happens - or at the very least people are gonna drop the numbers of episodes they themselves enjoyed particularly, which may change your expectations before even starting an episode. I'm fine with whatever way you go about this, just want you to be aware of that if you weren't already!

I think you mean Character Arc/Progression when you say Character Development, Characters like Luffy and Goku even though are well-developed characters don't change that much from the start of the series, and Characters like Mob and Thorfinn are completely different from the start of the series, It's like how some people say Mob Psycho 100 has bad animation even though it has amazing animation when what they're saying actually is that they don't like the art style.
nope they wont as far as i know. . .i think cause that show doesnt make for good reactions, its a dialogue heavy show, where you gotta sit and listen for 80% of the episode (excluding last few 5-6 episodes). . . that wouldnt make for compelling reactions

This is still my favorite episode of the series. The use of teleportation was beautiful
