24:30 Absolutely loved hearing about how you turned $ 250 into $ 10,000 on the Roulette table despite having just lost $3k on the previous spin, that takes some serious bottle, well done pal. As re Harry what an absolute legend of punting I remember him from Waaaaaaaaay back. Great piece guys I really enjoyed it.
Every gambler has great stories to tell I'm 70 and gambled all my life. All my mates used to say I was a fearless gambler and I loved hearing them say it .but as the years have gone by i realise I was a fearless mug .I worked hard and had my own business I didn't need to gamble as I had plenty and holidayed all over the world and every car i bought was brand new .I loved the excitement and all the bookies loved me .one used to give me my own teller when I visited his bookies.I still gamble to day I've lost everything as well as family and MYSELF and live in a housing association flat on my own skint.Everybody used to love to listen to my stories in the pub.I've got thousands of interesting stories with big bets in the thousands not millions like Harry .I've had the ups as well as the downs and loved it .it's my family and their families that suffered with me not giving them the attention they deserved .Yes it was easy to throw money at them and think I deserved to enjoy myself gambling after working very hard I'm not resentful at gambling I'm resentful at myself for being a mug and having no discipline. I've seen the gamblers come and go and 99% end up.skint .I hope Harry keeps winning he's a legend.but I wish I had been more normal and less of a mug and never gambled at all because I'm an addict with no discipline .I don't want any of my children or grandchildren to gamble and end up like me a waste of space Ps yes I was very generous I bought the local tramps home new beds and gave thousands to charities .little did I know that one day I would be lineing up with them for a free m eal. My fav saying is a fool and his money are soon parted, and there's no bigger fool than me
Fair play lad. Unfortunately your story on gambling is so much more more common than Findlays. 99% of punters lose in the long run. The other 1% i'm not even sure of.
My stories the same, I’ve gambled for the last 10 years, 16-26, I’m 26 now, I got £250 deposit to 12.5k over 3 weeks on sports bets, chased a £700 loss, and ended up losing 12.5k, plus 5k of credit cards, spent 5 years with no job paying off the 5k, it’s pure evil mate, how are you now, I’d love to hear your stories
I'm in bed and have not left it for the past three days with depression ,PLEASE DONT END UP LIKE ME , I will guarantee you 100% you will if you don't stop Had everything and lost everything it's an illness , In 1989 I was Fred dones biggest winner he wanted to buy me a bottle of champagne and have his photo with me for free advertising for him in the paper ,I refused as the blokes in the pub would have been knocking at my door at all hours for a loan ,it was bad enough before that win,He got all that back plus plenty more ,PLEASE STOP NOW LIFES FOR LIVING NOT FOR GAMBLING I WORKED HARD AND MADE PLENTY ,NO NEED TO GAMBLE BUT THE THOUGHT THAT I KNEW BETTER THAN THE BOOKIES MADE ME SELF DESTRUCT ,WITH MY FANTASY THAT I COULD WIN EASY MONEY , IM NOT ON MY OWN THERES MANY THOUSANDS OF SICK PEOPLE LIKE ME DONT ADD TO THAT NUMBER
Only just found this podcast, subscribed after 5 minutes, its nice to see joint presenters asking clear questions and letting the guest answer without interrupting. 👍
Brilliant Pod. Harry is great value. A brilliant talker and his book is excellent. Never met him but I would love the chance to pick his brains. Thanks lads.
Wonderful, Absolute Class Video. As a lifelong gambler myself, I was able to reminisce of my own experiences through your stories, especially the Bellagio one, as I did exactly the same at 10am before setting off to the airport, albeit for £1,500!! Many thanks to you all👍
I’ve watched this podcast a couple of times now it fascinates me how Harry has lived his life getting away from the 9-5 rat race and making a living of something he’s really passionate about.
Known Harry for many years and he is exactly as he appears, I was always a big odds/value type punter but one of the first things Harrry ever said to me was , "no one ever went broke backing odds on winners"!! The bit about Gleeson is so true.
34:00 I absolutely get what Harry says about the so called 'magic sign' aka Ladbrokes (basically crooks in suit's) not taking his £180 wager on the dog he absolutely knee was going to win. Staggering to think that they wouldn't accept a relatively small bet but of course they are fearful of large number's of these types of wagers coming in as it would affect their profits 🤔🙄🙄
20 minutes into the podcast listening to a professional gambler who has made millions over decades, speaking about his experiences betting, how he managed to get an edge, the other different pro gamblers he has worked with.... "So what actually is the difference between a casino and sports betting" Was that guy just there thinking he was some really lucky mug letting it ride on a roulette wheel for the last 30 years.
Very interesting but they didn't ask him where he got his stake money from when he was "skint" which was on quite a few occassions. Did he sell a house/ borrow it off family or friends and then if he did and he lost the lot again, where did he get the next lot of stake money ?
great question!! would have been interesting to know where he was getting it. know from been a gambler myself all my life ya will always get money somewhere... borrow off Peter to pay Paul.. horrible vicious circle and a c#nt of a way to b living life

Findlay thinks Denman was better than Arkle for anyone who thinks he knows what he's talking about. You can always spot a fool because they're the ones saying X was better than Arkle. There were two seperate handicaps prepared depending on whether arkle was running in the race or not.
Quite embarrassing with the scouser telling his little 'gambling stories' when they've got Harry Findlay on the podcast. Like having Mark Spitz on the podcast with a host spinning tales over his 25m swimming certificate.
Harry Findlay is a great guest could listen to him for hours, the only drawback in this podcast was the two interviews interrupting all the time , Not so much the boy in the white T-shirt , but the non-gambler who fella he spoiled the podcast
Right I’ve heard Harry talk about this a few times. Saying he had fortunes on federer after All black bet. … Nadal won the 08 final …. So does he mean the Roddick final in 09. 5 sets …. I just don’t get it. He’s getting his time lines wrong which means he must be absolutely fucking addicted to action like. Love the guy but this story constantly baffles me
You could of searched for value all night and not found the winner of that stayers . Bottom line is paisley had a heart condition he’s stones ahead of that lot

@Lee Guest He has admitted he lost everything and not just financially.UK layers turned in 2019 a profit of 14.5 Billion guess who's money that used to belong to.

Young guy at the far end of table absolutely clueless. Was embarrassing watching him. Surprised Harry didn't ask him to leave?
my thoughts exactly.
He always stutters when he's interviewing instead of just asking a question clearly.
