    Thanks for the video. This was helpful. I ordered the Wave chin rest and your video confirmed that it is a reasonable way to go (hasn't come yet). I will try the Performa as well. (FYI - I like your playing a lot - very clean and musical - on Spotify, but I would have preferred less on the supporting rhythm backup - again, excellent violin lines.)

    Could you review the kreddle chinrest and it's little collarbone hook cushion too! I can barely find reviews for the chinrest and none on the collarbone anchor. !!!

    The Performa looks good but it doesn't look as if you can alter its angle relative to the violin

    What is the height of your wave chin rest? How do you choose the height of the chin rest? Are you using the Wave One or Wave Two model?

    • @KavehSaidi
      @KavehSaidi  Месяц назад

      1.5 inch. I wouldn’t go higher than that. It’s the wave one and highly recommended.

    Wittner also makes 8mm extenders for the Zuerich and Augsburg chin rests (FYI).

    I am curious, are you left eye dominant? I am left eye dominant and I feel like I want my chin closer to the tail piece like you are. I think I will be getting the Wittner center mount.

      Not left eye dominant.

      I’m left eye dominant but what does that mean?

    Is the wave better than the augsburg for a taller person because im 6'4 and I've just ordered the augsburg and im wondering if I should order the wave model also my tutor is old school and not very tech savvy so any info would be great and thanks for the videos!

      Wave II 1.5 inch Will probably be better for your posture. But the Augsburg is more comfortable, although both are comfortable. I am switching back and forth often. So the answer is that better is subjective. There’s no perfect solution and I would recommend trying both. Both are great. But if you are concerned about injuries the wave is probably your best bet.

      You have to add the 6 mm attachments on the Augsburg to reach the max height.

    Could you review KPE 710 shoulder rest? Some people saying it's a good alternative for expensive Bon musica

    • @KavehSaidi
      @KavehSaidi  4 года назад

      Hi Kristof. Thanks for watching. I looked at the KPE shoulder rest online and it looks like a copy of the Willie Wolf. It looks like it might be fine for beginners as the Willie wolf is but it’s not commonly used by advanced players. It’s comfortable but the KUN is a better option.

      @@KavehSaidi Any suggestions for long neck type?

    • @KavehSaidi
      @KavehSaidi  4 года назад

      Higher chin rest while using a comfortable shoulder rest like the Kun or Performa Wooden model. Try the Wave I 1.5 inch. www.wavechinrest.com

    • @KavehSaidi
      @KavehSaidi  4 года назад

      You don't want the shoulder rest too high because you need the contact with the bottom of your violin and collarbone. The Bon Musica seems like it might help but it is clunky and heavy. I bought it and hated it.

    I played the violin for 2 months but had problems with my neck and back. I'm guessing if I go back to play again I think I need the Highest Shoulder rest and chin rest. What do you suggest?

    • @KavehSaidi
      @KavehSaidi  4 года назад +1

      You might try purchasing a few different high shoulder and chin rests to see which are most comfortable and return the ones you don’t like. Private lessons are recommended for technical help. Thanks for watching.

      @@KavehSaidi oh its a violin from the Kennedy violins company I was talking to "student of the word" but i really like your reveiws you should do more gear reveiws maybe try out the edu chin rest and id love to see a comparison between the fiddlerman carbon fiber bow and the kennedy violins giuliani carbon fiber bow for about the same price point! Im very happy you replied i think youre really good at the violin😁. I just started on the 7th and have been taking off much faster and with less pain and more technique than most people im pretty sure. Also what violin do you have?
