      Vince That doesn't make any sense. Lots of fruits contain citric and malic acid and that doesn't make them unhealthy. Moreover pH has nothing to do with minerals it's just the concentration of protons. Our body is smart enough to regulate it in a million ways since it's trivial for being alive.

      That would be soy milk and all vegans. More animals are killed off with vegan sources than animal-based sources. Thousands of animals are killed and have to continually be killed to keep predators away from the veggies and fruits that unnatural farms provide. Vegetables and fruits shouldn't even exist without human meddling.

      😂 Alternatives?
      Do you know? A report published titled 'Global Food Security' authored by researches (one of them is from FAO) mentions that 85% of the global soy is used for making soy oil and soybean cake. This cake is obtained only after extracting oil and is inedible for direct human. 97% of this is used as feed and 3% is used for alternatives. So it is the human demand for soy that is directly and indirectly driving the Amazon deforestation. Sadly we are continuing to criticise livestock.

    This was a pretty good comparison to be fair in terms of nutrients. One thing to note about iodine is that it is only present in cows milk because an iodine solution is used to sterilise the milking equipment and it is sometimes added to the cows feed. Other than that the iodine of any of these milks depends on the soil where they are grown or the soil where the cows feed is grown.

  • @frgc6159

    This is a great example of miss information. I find it very bias towards milk. Even notice in the first "test" on protien, the soya milk was 6g and milk 7g. The soya glass was ill represented for having only been 1g lower, looked more like 3-4g lower. It didn't mention once about all the drugs in milk, most worryingly antibiotics. The high saturated fat. And only touched on the fact that to have milk you have to "rape" female cattle to impregnate them so they lactate. Never touched on the environmental impact of dairy farming either. Iodine can be found in factors many times that of milk in seaweed, like, dangerously high. The only reason we still drink milk is because of the farming and dairy corporations influence on media and global distribution networks. Milk has never been "good" for you. It was always a lie. It never will be, because you are a human, not a bovine. Please wake up.

      Exactly. No mention of the downsides that are at least as important to determine if something is actually healthy or not, such as the garbage in cow milk, including fecal matter, blood, and, because so many dairy cows suffer infections of their udders, the government permits hundreds of millions of somatic cells (aka pus) in milk. Sure, it's cooked pus due to pasteurization, but it's still revolting.
      No mention of the fact that cows are now kept pregnant for 10 months out of the year, causing the level of estrogen in cow milk to be approx. 10 fold, causing girls to enter puberty earlier, little boys to develop gynecomastia (aka man boobs), and young people in general to develop acne. No mention of the data that shows countries with higher milk intake also have higher rates of hip fracture and osteoporosis.
      Thanks, but I'll stick to my delicious, healthy, far more environmentally friendly, pus free plant milks.

    I have read that milk actually weakens your bones.
    Something to do with the acidity of milk that your body has to neutralize with the its own calcium sourced from the bones.
    One the calcium is used to balance the PH levels in the body its then passed in urine.
    Supposedly not consuming milk has been correlated with a reduction in bone fractures.

    • @CamWattsYourProblem
      @CamWattsYourProblem 7 лет назад +9

      AlexDC93 I would guess that's false since the first place that milk goes is into your stomach which has a PH of like 1.5 which is crazily acidic and my guess is that that pretty much makes everything from there on out pretty acidic. but that's just a guess so I could be drastically off

      @AlexDC93 7 лет назад +10

      Simplification of what I have read.
      Stomach acid doesn't go past the intestinal wall, the high protein content of the milk however does.
      Animal proteins increase the ph of the blood which must be corrected for.
      The bodies major way to reverse the ph change quickly is to to calcium from the bones.
      After all is said and done you have suffered a net loss of calcium.
      Not saying what I have read is correct or wrong but it makes sense and is backed up by reasonable data.

      @Sollus: Cut out sugar, coffee and alcohol. You don't need any of it, and you would save just as much, if not more, CO2 and water usage. Lettuce produces more CO2 for each calorie than bacon.
      For more of an effect, replace your lawn with stones, or a grass type that uses less water.
      When I think about it, you would save a lot more than cutting out diary. I was thinking about eating meat. Diary contributes a small amount compared to that.

    • @furygamer9105
      @furygamer9105 7 лет назад +13

      So the purpose of cow's milk is to turn a small calf into a cow? And thus should not be consumed by humans?
      You may be right that milk makes a calf grow as fast as possible but how does milk do this? Besides the fact that calves drink very large amounts of it (1.5-2.75 gallons) per day, the contents and amount of milk contributes to this growth.
      Milk is typically rich in nutrients some of which are: hormones (growth factors such as IGF), lipids (3%), protein (3%), sodium (1%).
      What really seems to be the problem in most anti-milk activists are the hormones (growth factors like IGF). Indeed, these growth factors do contribute to the calf's growth but here’s some basic biology:
      1) Hormones and growth factors are proteins. These proteins can be destroyed in various ways both before and after consumption. Firstly, milk is pasteurized. The high temperatures these proteins see during the pasteurization process can cause denaturation and subsequent inactivation of the protein. Second, in order for insulin-like growth factor (IGF) or any growth factor to affect you it also has to survive being broken down into its constitutive amino acids during digestion which, like most proteins, they do not.
      1a) If you're wondering how these hormones can possibly affect calves when digestion renders most of them inactive, hormones typically play a role only very early in calf development when the intestinal tract is not fully mature and can allow things like hormones, growth factors, and antibodies to pass into the bloodstream (same with humans, but baby formula does not contain hormones or antibodies). Beyond that, milk's role in a calf's rapid growth is simply that it is a nutrient rich liquid that the calf consumes a very, very large amount of.
      2) Maybe you think that the hormones in cow's milk is for baby cows? Hormones made by cows for cows simply do not work on humans. In order for a hormone to perform some action on a cell, it must first bind to a receptor and trigger a series of signaling pathways within the cell. Human cell receptors, however, do not bind to bovine growth hormones. So even if some small fraction of the growth hormones consumed survived both pasteurization and digestion and made it into the bloodstream, they can't trigger signals in our cells.

    The countries with the highest levels of osteoporosis have the highest dairy consumption. Milk is acidic which causes calcium to be leached from our bones thus resulting in calcium deficiency. Calcium intake is not important, studies have shown that calcium balance is far more important. Besides the most calcium rich food sources are leafy greens. Milk also contains high amounts of cholesterol which results in atherosclerosis and igf-1 which is responsible for all stages of cancer development. And due to the mastitis infections cows get from the intensive milking process milk contains 400million puss cells per litre. You are not a baby cow, so stop breast feeding.
    From an environmental point of view animals agriculture accounts for 51% of green house gas emissions and 91% of rain forest destruction, as well as being the leading cause of species extinction and nitrogen dead zone leading to ocean destruction. Cows are the most environmental damaging farmed animal too so there's yet another reason to leave their tit milk alone. And from an ethical point of view cows are raped (industry term rape rack) then have their babies stolen at just a day old. If the calf is male it'll be locked in a veal crate where it can't move and killed at 8 weeks old, but if the calf is female it'll go through the same process of forced pregnancies and child theft for 4 years until it too will have its throat cut open.

    • @fredrikfjeld1575
      @fredrikfjeld1575 6 лет назад +1

      51%? Really?
      You do know that the studies that Cowspiracy based their claims on, actually say something totally different than they say they do, right?
      If I remember the study correctly, agriculture is somewhere between 15 and 25%. The study does claim it could be as low as 8 and as high as 50 (or something like that)
      There was another study that shown it as even less than that one as well.
      And there are plant products that need more water and CO2 than most of the meat industry as well. So, just eating plants doesn't help. You should avoid lettuce. For water usage, you should avoid coffee and sugar at all costs.
      Studies also suggest that both of them can be causes of cancer and help cancer grow (same as you mention with milk!)
      Most newer studies also seem to rate sugar as worse than any fat. Milk with a lot of fat is better than low-fat with added sugar. So another reason to avoid it.
      And you are comparing the industry in one country to all others as well. Different laws in different countries. That they do not keep their young ones for long is always true, but the time depends.
      Most cows also enjoy getting milked. Automated systems need a way to track how many times cows have been milked so the cows won't try to cheat the system.
      The morality of it is a totally different discussion tho. I would argue that, if done correctly, the meat and diary system is, at worst, morally gray.

    • @curtsk19
      @curtsk19 6 лет назад +1

      Cows probably do like the relief of being milked yes as they are selectively bred to produce too much, but i doubt they like a blokes arm up the ass and a metal rod to impregnate and constantly in a cycle of giving birth to be milked.
      Also many people would recommend a local based whole food vegan diet which would not include sugar.

      farmingtruth.weebly.com/a-complete-debunk-of-every-cowspiracy-statistic.html Your numbers are ridiculous! In fact you've gone even further than cowspiracy, claiming 91% of rainforests, rather than the false claim of 91% of one of the lower deforesting situations in the amazon like cowspiracy does. Indonesia is the biggest deforester, at double the amazon & all for vegan palm oil & rubber trees.
      Back on the osteroporosis, that's because high meat eating countries also have the highest life expectancies & osteoporosis is a disease of age, so if you die before you get old, then of course you don't get it lol. I choose to get old, even if it means an increased risk of osteoporosis for me - better than the alternative isn't it!

The part that made dairy products disgusting and cruel for me is mass factory farming where the calf is separated and slaughtered in order to get rennet from its stomach lining to make cheeses ,and to get milk from the mother. I do use free range organic and cruelty free milk occasionally which I buy from our local farmer who never slaughters cows or any animal for any reason,and he only uses vegetable rennet . @Rick Vis i don't think you yourself know what you just said there...you say plant nutrients are harder to digest right ?..and that's why it has less calcium...or rather our body can absorb less calcium from it....while some how with milk it's easier ?...well i am sorry but milk calcium is incased in casein ...and we can't digest it ... atleast not properly ...so almost all of the calcium goes out our body as shit....so...I don't know where are you saying...but ok...and besides..in humans small intestine is more than 6 times the body length in avarage... which is infact more geared towards a fiver and cellulose rich diet ...in case you are curious in case of carnivorous it's about 2 to 3 times longer than their body length.

    • @VeganSanatani
      @VeganSanatani 3 года назад

      @Rick Vis did you ever think why ...about 70% of the population is lactose intolerant?...and i am sorry but hem not similar to milk calcium...just because both of them comes from animals ...they are not the same in term of nature....besides you can get hem from vegetables as well...beet roots and many legumes also contains hem in its hem form...even Tomatos and soy does..

    • @VeganSanatani
      @VeganSanatani 3 года назад

      @Rick Vis yea...first of all...a fancy term does not makes your point any more logical ....and yea i am right...it is scientifically proven that majority of The milk proteins can not be digested by humans...and neither can the calcium...you have better chance of obtaining calcium my eating egg shells than you have by eating milk... secondary calcium being an alkali eat metals don't share the same properties of Iron , and calcium don't exist is many forms like iron...how can you call my words fantacy ,while you are the one who is delusional...and as fas as pigs go....do pigs hunt others animals ?...do pigs eat dead bodies...no they don't..do pigs have ...pigs are not omnivorous..not biologically...the digestive system of pigs are made for eating vegitables, fruits,nuts and roots....and so are we.....an occasional baby bird or a broken egg does not qualify as omnivorous... even deers do that...and our intestine is long because we have a lot of gut microbes....just like ant other herbivore...we can process plant matter way better than we can do meat....ever considered why US has so many colon and stomach cases .?...and india so low ?...yea...meat baby....and carnivore and omnivore saliva also contains histatins ...while we don't...just like herbivores... besides plant Protein or animal protein does not matters....cause both can be broken down by human digestive system....if a major population of individuals don't produce a certain enzyme...that's a very clear indication that they were probably not meant to eat that stuff...and the fact that we don't have the same mutation , makes my point even more clear.

    One important point wasn't mentioned. Industrial milk is produced from cows which are being grown on growth hormones and antibiotics. There's no way that this wouldn't affect the quality of the milk. Unless you're buying your milk from a farmer you know well, cow's milk has several trade-offs.
    In my food preparation I use cow's milk because it's cheap, yet if I had more money I'd definitely consider some alternatives.

    Iodine doesn’t actually come from cows milk, its leached into the milk as iodine is used to treat and prevent Mastitis - an infectious disease condition resulting in an inflammatory reaction in the mammary gland of the cow. Its also good to note how faeces gets in to the milk as well, in the same way that iodine gets in, faeces may be on the mammary gland that has come from the ground or also the milking equipment can sometimes fall off the cow in the process and suck up any liquids below her which is usually.. her bathroom stops.

Because there's nothing worse than a sweet milk substitute.

      We've got diseases like diabetes and cancer running rapid. We look to every cause except the obvious one; what we eat. Look at how they treat the big name farm animals in our country. When we're mistreating them, injecting them with hormone altering concoctions, making them eat unhealthy diets for the sake of productuon, putting them into tiny spaces which causes trama, and taking away the milk that they need to grow, those toxins move right up the food chain. Then we sit here wondering why we're so sick.
