USA Soccer. Don't make waves. Don't underperform. Stick to the system. When there is no excitement or no highlights, vfall back on the fact that you performed according to the FIFA rankings,
Yayyy!!! We proved that we can get out of the group stage by scoring 2 goals in 3 games. We squeezed our butt cheeks so tight that we were able to beat Iran 1-0. Amazing coaching, amazing tacticts, and we got through the group stage.
Boring to watch. No creativity. Not playing your best talent. Keep everyone within the system and within GGG's locus of control. And show everyone how you are a team that can be above average.
Take a chance if you are %100 sure of the outcome.
If we tweak the system we could win a game in the group stage one day
But look how we beat a depleted Mexico and won the final against Canada, who had nobody in their bracket in the Nations League. Embarrassing that claiming victory in CONCACAF has any significance to anyone besides non-soccer fans in the USA.
Nobody in the top 20 teams in the world feels threatened by the USA team. The only anxiety we cause is the embarrassment that would follow from losing to the USA because we are boring and uncreative and any team that sticks to their tactics and allows their players to express their indivuality and talent will beat the USA, just as it says on paper.
2 goals in 3 games? Forget how boring the games were, forget how our best talent wasn't on the field, and look at how we were only one of 16 teams to get this far. Depth and talent would help but belief and creativity is something a manager could actually help with.
Berhalter isn't taking the USA to the next level and he isn't interested in creating exciting soccer. Just keeping the boat from rocking and making sure nothing goes wrong.Boring to watch or get excited about.

I strongly believe this USA team will never win the big tournaments. The mentality is not good. They treat football only as a business. The fact that you did not want to seek a proven manager in the men’s game because of how the women team would feel about the salary difference says it all. I can assure you England women coach does not get pay the same as Gareth and he has not won anything. I’m sorry it’s just different demands. You have people who watch every single men tournament games like me but I only see the final of the woman game. The football is totally different. Not very appealing. The football at the recent U20 World Cup is even better than the women’s World Cup. If we want parity, let’s set every single national teams men vs women best of three and see who wins

Gregg Berhalter is a terrible USMNT Coach. He does not evaluate players based on their Talent Skill set and/or Performance. To prove My assertion; look at his treatment of John Brooks, Ricardo Pepi and Tim Ream.
Tim Ream turned out to be the best USA player in the squad. He only made the team as a last minute replacement. His treatment of Geo Reyna, in the weeks prior to the world cup is an excellent indicator of his poor communication and player management skills.
The USMNT finished the qualifying campaign in 3rd place barely edging out Costa Rica. While the player pool of available talent is the highest it has ever been. The USMNT made it to Qatar despite their mediocre incompetent coach.

Is Jose Mourinho gonna go take the women's national team job, does he even want it? So which coach should be paid more? People get paid for financial reasons, not cause of your agenda

This "looking" for a new coach was just a hoax in my opinion.
They had already decided they would rehire him and made it look like they considered others.
Says a lot about US Soccer.
Anyone that knows and understands soccer/football well does not understand why he was given this job again.
