    everything is well explained and shown in action, kudos for the video
    I bought this helicopter 3 years ago and upgraded it to version 3 and I never flew with it because of the trim you showed and it doesn't work for me at all and that's why I gave it up. I like to fly like a gazelle or mi-8 helicopter without any unnecessary trims, this is a lot of complications 😏😉🤭🤣👍

    Great instructional video. The only thing I'd recommend is to have your controls visible with RCtrl + Enter, so we can see what you're doing with the controls as well as hear what you're saying.

    The only thing that kept me from flying the shark was that weird trim which had to be held down for change of flight attitude. I tried to deactivate the according AP channel everytime to get more to a huey feeling, but always had this...."Meeeeh"-feeling, resulting in me spending time in other modules...Now, after a lot of time I see this and discover that 5th button. Stupid me.
    Thank You very much for making the shark interesting again..

    Great video and one of the more easy to follow tutorial on Ka-50 that I found on RUclips. Just coming to DCS hely from Warbirds and I get the Kamov. Do You think it will be possible to You starting a series for the Ka-50 (waiting for the Black Shark 3 and/or possibly the Ka-52) like the one You already did for the Hind (my next Hely probably...)?

    Hi SnuggleFairy 1-1! Your explanations are crystal clear, you should make more tuto vids of the beast. I recently "discovered" the exhilaration to fly the Ka-50, I also use direct control, mainly to take off and land which I found much easier with it. I noticed that when I use direct control and at the same time I move the collective, the two power levers go to full power! Do you know why?
    Regards

    • @snugglefairy1-148
      @snugglefairy1-148  5 лет назад +1

      You might have a conflict somewhere in controls. Something is double mapped. I would advise to clear the entire axis category for all of your devices and then remap everything the way you want

    • @fonesrphunny7242
      @fonesrphunny7242 5 лет назад +2

      What power levers? There is no physical lever that moves on it's own. Might have a slight translation issue here.
      Anyways, hope this is helpful:
      Increasing collective requires more engine power to keep the rotors spinning at a constant speed. This is completely normal and the engine governors will take care of that automatically.
      If you're using altitude hold and change collective you will "fight the autopilot" which is trying to keep your current altitude. The collective will become less sensitive, to put it simply. (*note*) This is disabled in direct control so all collective changes have full effect, resulting in more engine power needed.
      note: in the real Ka-50 the collective can't be moved unless you pull the "collective brake" lever which acts similar to the trimmer. Holding it will temporarily disable altitude hold and releasing will command the AP to hold your current altitude. So in the real thing there would never be a situation where you'd fight the altitude hold.

      @@snugglefairy1-148 I will check that, thanks for your advice!

    • @snugglefairy1-148
      @snugglefairy1-148  5 лет назад

      @@fonesrphunny7242 Ka-50 has 2 throttle levers for 2 engines instead of the rotating handle on the collective. It has a couple positions, that are used for various preflight checks, the automatic position that's used for flight and the top position for full power, commanding the governors to spin engines at max rpm at all times. Used for emergencies, if you lose one engine for example. I think these are the levers he's talking about

    • @fonesrphunny7242
      @fonesrphunny7242 5 лет назад

      @@snugglefairy1-148 I know how this thing works ... BS1 vet ;)
      Didn't think of a double binding because it should be impossible to double-bind anything. If you're using both throttles on a warthog however and one is bound to "throttle" for example ... yeah, that could be an issue.
      Also, why would you bind the "throttle" axis in the Ka-50 anyways unless you're a pit-builder ;)

    Nice video but wouldn't it be better to use Autopilot disconnect button for fast defensive maneuvers ?

    • @snugglefairy1-148
      @snugglefairy1-148  4 года назад

      I mostly fly with director control engaged. My if it's disengaged and you need to make a quick defensive maneuver - engage it and do the maneuver.

    great video . just a small question what do you mean by central trimmer mode .my book is saying the T key is that what you mean. thanks in advance..Tom.

    • @snugglefairy1-148
      @snugglefairy1-148  3 года назад

      Sorry i didn't respond. Is special options tab for the Ka-50 in settings, there's a trimmer setting. There are 3 options - default, option for a joystick with a centering spring, and option for a joystick with FFB. If you don't have a force feedback joystick, and most of us don't, you need to select the option for the joystick with a centering spring. That will make sure your trimmer (key T) behaves correctly when using Flight Director mode
