I am so thankful there is still craftsmanship and quality to be found.
So proud of him! Mrs. McLaughlin second grade teacher, always had us sing together (we were that good!). I'm so thrilled about your success, Lee!!
There is NOTHING that feels as good as a pair of handmade Texas boots. I know that first-hand.
Ain't a thing in this world like it. If it don't fit right it's not a good boot. That's from experience.
I’m a little jealous of him in a good way. I am happy for him and would never want to take from him. There is a part of me that wishes I would have taken a different road. Thanks for sharing. I hope he does very well. Texas Tech used to have a couple of promising leather programs in the 70’s; sadly no more.
I believe he already is doing well, we should all have the problem of a 4 year waiting list for our craft...
What a great piece! Went to Elementary school in Rutland Vermont with Lee
It makes ol’ Charlie real pleased to see ya walkin’ with ease, Charlie Dunn.. he’s the one to see. ..And now it’s Lee.
Absolutely fantastic job, Lee is one of the best bootmakers!!
Beautiful craftsmanship....
God bless you for making America GREAT👍🏻🙏🇺🇸❤️🤍💙🇺🇸
Lee, one of the best bootmakers. Congratulations my friend.
Funky Cold Medina 😂. Dang 4 year wait is wild
Great Story and Great Boots. I would be afraid to ask the Price lol.
Lovely work. ...must be so satisfying to make a living with this awesome craft.
My dad supposedly apprenticed under Charlie Dunn in the early 80's, at least according to him he did. He graduated high school in '76, spent 4 years in the Air Force, went to tech school in Oklahoma, spent a couple years living in Austin, Texas, then came back home to Ohio and opened his own boot shop. I never did see anything he made, no even a photograph, and I never saw him do any leather work at all. According to mom, his shop burned down in 1987 and his business partner opted to move on to something else instead of re-opening the boot shop, and it apparently crushed his soul. The only evidence I ever saw that he made boots was when we found several boxes full of old lasts when we were emptying out their basement after a flood.
Contact Lee at this store he’d know if your dad worked with Charlie
Hopefully she will keep the relay going wish her all the best
Hang in there Casey, I appreciate the fortitude, once upon a time I apprenticed as a butcher, very hard work and very different times, that's when everything comes was hanging beef. 30 yrs later, I do think I have much more to learn, 😁
* mind blown, heart full*
the student, has excelled after learning from the master.
Man I would love to go there and have some made.
Man, looking at the thumbnail, I thought that was the late Harold Ramis (Ghostbusters, Stripes).
Great people, thumbs up
I bet it smells good in there...
From 1980 to 1990 all kids in Europe wanted American boots. That was the time American jeans was available in our local shops. All gone. We were more American than the Americans themselves.
Wow! FOUR YEARS? Would love to own a pair. Would assume you could not walk out the door with a pair of basics for less than 2k.
I would love to be an apprentice to this and eventually start my business 😇
Buy American Made 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Those chairs!!!
As they say doing what u love for a living you will never work a day in your life!!
This is the biggest lie ever. Anyone who's done this will tell you the same or they're lying. Doing what you love still turns into work, then you start liking it less and less.
@@magnumxlpi It's obvious your an unhappy person so stop being a 🌧 and spread a little sunshine and maybe u will see the brighter part of what It means to be alive ok pal!!!
@@vgarza1972 no I'm not lol but I've done exactly what you claim is great and know others that did the same, and it's still work.
@@magnumxlpi Well that's your opinion ok
I hope one day I can get there to get some special boots made for me. I want to represent the battle of colon cancer on my boots.
Amen
I’d love to order a pair, but at my age I don’t even buy green bananas.
Now that was funny
Did you know Ted Hooper, 😂
Hahaha!
I wonder how long the waiting list is from one of his parents boats
It's absolutely amazing to hear that a business like this has 2 more apprentices so hopefully they'll be here for decades to come. If they aren't looted and destroyed by these terrorists.....
I buy made in America boots, from Philippine island.
Excuse me guys where can I get a dress or get a touch this guy t you

The cowboy boots originated in Mexico. Hate it or love it. You can’t erase nor rewrite history. 💯
I just buy my Chinese boots from Walmart. $29.99
