The first Foo Fighters album is freakin’ awesome. But everything that came after that was just “middle of the road” blandness. The Foo Fighters became the exact kind of group that Kurt Cobain would have despised.

A musician just knows how to technically play the formulas that work. If you don't understand the difference, then go buy the next Foo record and eat it up.

Like many, I have also made my share of mistakes. However, the real tragedy lies in the pain that follows these actions. I hope that his family finds healing and that they can support one another through this difficult time. I think Dave is going to regret not hanging it up when Taylor died. That was the perfect out. I think Dave's career will survive but it will be changed. Any decent musician knows it takes a will of steel, not to stray when you're on the road. Loneliness, depression, anxiety, hell even a bad show all add to the mix. It also doesn't help when just about everybody is trying to get some time alone with a famous celebrity or rock/pop star. If you tour or live on the road, either take your partner or come to an agreement before the shit hits the fan. I hope it all works out for all involved, it's a delicate situation.

A musician just knows how to technically play the formulas that work. If you don't understand the difference, then go buy the next Foo record and eat it up.

My exhusband got laid daily by me before we were married, and for the 12 years we were married. The marriage ended when not only did I find out that he was unfaithful with numerous other women but had children with some of them including my 19 year old cousin. He refused to discuss the reason for his cheating and I couldn’t live with it anymore so I took our child and divorced him. The whole thing took a toll on my mind for quite a while and he tried years later to make me one of his whores but I refused.
I could never vibe with Dave's super cool nice image. To me he was always fake. It's cringy every time I hear him speak about Kurt, because no matter what , it comes from this place of superiority - like he's a better person. Dave became the anti-thesis of the grunge ethos, and yet because most of the guys were dead - he also became the the figure head.

While I still do appreciate a lot of the music that was produced with Grohl's involvement, I've been under the impression that certain members of the Foo Fighters were trash individuals ever since they took up a HIV/AIDS denial-ism stance around ~2002ish. Any decent musician knows it takes a will of steel, not to stray when you're on the road. Loneliness, depression, anxiety, hell even a bad show all add to the mix. It also doesn't help when just about everybody is trying to get some time alone with a famous celebrity or rock/pop star. If you tour or live on the road, either take your partner or come to an agreement before the shit hits the fan. I hope it all works out for all involved, it's a delicate situation.

When he plays with Queens of the Stone Age, it's a magic unknown to many bands. It more than clicks. It permeates. His songwriting doesn't get even close to matching his drumming.
