That is a great fix, and I haven't seen it before, so thanks for sharing, but a simpler one that has worked many times for me on many different brands of bubblers, is to pull off the air hose, fill my mouth with water (or beer, seriously) and then put my mouth on the nipple where the hose goes and spit the water into the pump with as much pressure as I can generate. I don't know if it back flushes debris from the check valve or if it lubricates a dry reed or if the water just helps make a seal, but it usually works. Sometimes it takes more that one try and if it's not working by the third time you may need to make this replacement valve reed. If you're already out on the water when you realize your bubbler isn't bubbling, it's worth trying to spit water into it.
Great video and fix. How long will the cellophane last before it has to be replaced? Could you use a little heavier plastic or possibly some thin rubber? Thank you for sharing. PB
never knew about the little piece of cellophane. My Hush Bubbles died on me, so I pulled it apart. A little different inside but eventually got to the cellophane under that little black rubber holder. The cellophane was not ripped so I just cleaned it a little and reassembled everything. Not sure what I did but Viola! Back to working. Go figure!?

That's really handy that you showed how to put back together. While I'm sure other videos don't. Thanks. Great video!

Awesome, great to hear the feedback!
Good stuff...
You could make a few of those cellophane pieces and place them inside the pump housing.
