    Hi Christian, thanks for your Ms Project users input. I am wondering and trying to figure out how to use baselines in timeline. Regrettably I could not find answer to it. If you are aware how to use this solution please let us know in any of your videos. Cheers.

    • @vision6D
      @vision6D  3 месяца назад +1

      Thank you for that interesting question. As such Ms Project does not give you the possibility to show the baseline on the timeline. I could see one way to represent what you want working with a master project and 2 subprojects. One of the subproject is you current project where you do the tracking and the second subproject a copy of the first project when you did the baseline. This subproject 2 will never evolve. With this in the master timeline you can pick tasks and milestones either from the current situation subproject 1 or from the reference subproject 2.
      Have not tried it but let me know if you have any luck with this idea or any other.
      Greetings from Geneva.

      @@vision6D Thank you a lot for your immediate reply. Before, I did more or less the same as what you have described above, but it is not the best solution :-) If you are close or in touch with the Ms Project development team please report it, as it is good feature to implement.

    Very grateful for your videos Christian. I'm a project novice. My Gantt chart keeps "disappearing" and I don't know how to re display it. I use " view Gantt chart tab"... but I still can't see anything ! 😕

    Hi. I sometimes produce Timelines to support project proposals. However, rather than showing dates on the project timescale, I would only like to show month or week numbers i.e. M1, M2, M3 etc. Is this possible within the Timeline?

    • @vision6D
      @vision6D  5 месяцев назад

      Thank you for your question. In Microsoft Project, customizing the Timeline view to display month or week numbers (e.g., M1, M2, W1, W2) instead of specific dates is not directly supported through the standard Timeline tools and settings. The Timeline is designed to provide a visual snapshot of the project with specific start and end dates.
      However, you can achieve a similar effect by copying your timeline to powerpoint where you can edit it as you wish.
      Some examples:

    hey there, I do change the status date and mark tasks as 100% completed. However, it doesn't appear on my timeline as progressed( dark blue color). Is it because I am using MS Project 2013?

    • @vision6D
