I had 600,000km on my Laguna 2.0 dci untill I sold it 3 years ago, she still running.
The M9R is one of the best engine ever produced.

This one right here is a pigsty, but it does have some enjoyable engines.
One of the very few best engines in the world. The Renault 2.0 dCi and the 2.0 HDI from PSA and Volvo D5 are no. 1 turbodiesel engines, and Mercedes 220, 320 CDI.
1.9 TDI, OM606, Volvo D5 and the list goes on and on
@@e.demirovic 1.9 TDI is inferior in terms of pretty much everything compared to the dCi from Renault. And outdated. OM606 is also outdated, but it is highly reliable. Still, I wouldn't put in first place.

@@e.demirovic Yes, you heard me right. The dCi from Renault and HDI from Peugeot are the best turbodiesel engines in the world. Your examples are of inferior engines in terms of (as I said before) pretty much everything. The 1.9 TDI hasn't even got a common rail system, same for the OM606. Not to mention the noise the 1.9 TDI makes, the inferior thermal efficiency, and all the problems it develops over time, you can read plenty of them on the forums. The OM 646 is far better than both examples you mentioned btw.

The clicking sound when opening the door is the limiter. I had the same issue after 275.000 km. You can replace it easily at home with a few simple tools and the item is also not expensive.
Had two Laguna 3, including the coupé with automatic gearbox. One of the best cars Renault has produced over the last 20 years. Reliable, practical, comfy, economical and agile👍
The previous Laguna's had reliability issues, this isn't like those other cars?
@@h.s.5995 yes you’re right the previous generation had many issues, but the last generation of Laguna really is something else. Renault wanted this Laguna 3 to be their top of the range model. This car was also popular among taxi drivers for its reliability. My 2008 Laguna 3 is now 330k km and still running without any issue. My coupé is now 200k km and also undestroyable.

Renault's 1.5 is one of the strongest engines , but what about your auto gearbox 😂
@@vagautomotiv minding your driving the double clutch auto can serve you pretty well, though i would really prefer the auto aisin gearbox from the 2.0 engines.
You just need to be morally prepared one day the gearbox is going to eventually break, it's about 1k euros to repair in my country, so doesn't seem that critical, that being like the worst case scenario component to repair aside the engine.

I have this engine in a Renault Trafic. Mileage about 180,000 miles. Compression as in a brand new engine. It withstands chiptuning at an average of 170-200 horsepower.

11:00 wow my first time seeing an electronic handbrake actually locking up the rear wheels while driving, interesting. Nowadays there will always be a safety system to prevent that.
New Renaults allow you to do that too
All cars with electric parking brake will do that. You just have to hold it in order to confirm that you really want to engage it while driving
@@Minto107 not really in VAG group cars, or just generally German cars. Theres a video on "new" Top Gear where they tried to do a Handbrake turn in a golf R and it failed miserably.

Yes, it is new for me too. I knew that it is impossible. But it can with holding. It is good to know to some maneuver. I have Lag3 electric handbrake now I know it how to use. It is not write by user manual. :@
Another tipp: the handbrake release without push the button. If you give gas and release the clutch slowly the handbrake release automatically if the car senses torque.

my last boss bought me one clio v brand new with the 1.5 dci 90cv.
i was surprised of the qualities of this car and this engine ( the torque) even i had a bmw 525d personnaly.
i was not friend with Renault cars , but that changed with it.
But a BMW quality is surely 2 levels over a Renault's one. BMW is BMW. You realize it already if you open a massive door of a BMW.

This engine is very particular, it is a diesel that likes to rev... Not common for sure

my father own this car and he promised me to teach me how to drive it , laguna always been his favorite car and he is ready to talk about it for hours , but am kinda nervous trying to drive with it the car seems heavy and complicated and also the gear lever is somehow detached so my father had to hide it with a peace of leather and it hard to see the number of speed so am trying to learn on it from videos.
If I'm not wrong it's 1/2 option for 2.o dci, the one with 170cp, 180 and 204

1.5dci is dependable but suseptible to poor treatment and should only be bought with a clear history + shortened maintenance (ideally). It is also slow, but econimical

That's because the 3.5 V6 and 3.0 DCI would do over 260. And the 2.0T would do 250 too.
I’ve been passanger in a 3.5 v6 laguna,it had 255 kmh on gps, so not optimistic at all. It s kinda funny to have 270 kmh on speedo with 1.5 dci 🤣

i expected a bit more from that engine, feels a bit lazy on acceleration, because i drove the same car but with 1.5dci 81kw and i could hit around 190kmh with it
Yea very slow for the amount of power it has…a C Class from same year with a 200 Diesel engine for example can go 215-220 km/h without problem
C200cdi has 136hp and around 100kg heavier, but who knows what condition is lagunas engine in
