All facts! Pretty privilege isn't always inherent. It takes maintenance, and lots of it! I'm big into fitness, and I always see the comments on fitness influencers' pages saying they're "lucky", or it's "genetics", whole time, that girl is putting in lots of work at the gym and discipline with her diet. And even after they get their dream body, they still put in lots of hours per week keeping it up. Leaning how to do different makeup looks and figuring out what looks best on you takes hours of studying makeup tutorials, lots of practice, money to buy the makeup, keeping up with makeup trends and techniques, skincare routines etc. People see the final result and automatically assume the person "has it easy". But when presented with that person's maintenance routine, it's "doing too much".

Exactly! Even the small details. For example I noticed I do a better job with an eyeliner pencil or even an eyeliner brush rather than liquid eyeliner. That’s something that can only be learned through practice and experience

Never underestimate the importance of lifestyle choices in looks and good aging. Limit sugar intake and processed foods, exercise regularly and avoid smoking, drinking alcohol and drugs. Stay out of the sun, even with sunscreen on, wear a hat. Use retinol and cleanse your skin before bed. This habits will compound over time and you’ll be looking 10-15 years younger after 40. The younger you start the better. I’m a childfree 39 year old neonatologist who gets told that looks 25-30 almost on a daily basis. I learnt this in med school and I committed to live by those habits, it’s paid off BIG TIME.

I second this! Cultivating good habits early on is key! I’m 39 and turning 40 this year as well and definitely don’t look it - nobody believes my age 🤭 I look better and am fitter now than when I was in my 20s! Eat Clean food, keep up with your HYDRATION, supplements, low to zero alcohol … minimize inflammatory foods. Be VERY selective about who you allow in your circle - decrease stress as much as possible. Exercise. Be joyful! Wear your SPF! Also, expand your mind too, keep your mind active and learn new things. It won’t matter how young you look if your mind is mush 🤣

@@xoxo.daviii I love the sun too, but sunscreen can only buy you a few minutes of safe exposure, eventually it starts to degrade and produce toxic substances to your skin, wearing a wide brim hat extends the lifespan of your sunscreen and prevents the oxidation of your skin by the products of sunscreen’s reaction with sunlight. If you can use sunglasses to protect your eyes’ natural lenses it would be great too. Trust me it has been the greatest discovery of my skincare journey, I’ve seen hundreds of people that rely only on sunscreen to protect their skin and they still exhibit a lot of photoaging and sun damage.

The girl at 0:48 was my high school friend she had a lot of haters as we both did. I would constantly remind her how valuable she was because ppl would chip away at her self esteem. I remember girls hated her for no reason and try to expose her for wearing extensions and wigs (her mom was a hair stylist so her hair was always on point!) and because of that girls would make fun of her. But then about a year or 2 those same ppl who would make fun of her were the same people who were wearing wigs when they became “cool” to wear. She was just ahead of the game. She was also very talented she had a voice of an angel but a lot of women hated her for no reason.

Found a girl on campus to do my hair, did my face routine every night, etc. When I came home and had to work, I gave up all of that and that’s when my esteem took a further nosedive. 36:10 I have always found that the most brutal encounters have come from other women who have not taken the time to work on themselves and appreciate their own uniqueness.
Not discounting that men carry their own envious nature against women along with being overzealous and entitled but I’ve realized too early in life that there is no one more intent on being dangerous than women who haven’t given themselves the chance to nourish their self perception with positivity.
Ugly spirited people are always on the ready to try to be damaging.
Whether openly or passive aggressively, they will make remarks about their disdain on looks, hair, clothes, lifestyle, display of high intelligence, and speaking eloquently is usually taken as an invitation to display harshness towards those who show what makes them feel small.
It’s wild when those people will use their own lack of self esteem to verbally, mentally, emotionally, and in extreme cases, physically abuse another for what they naturally have and elevated themselves.

All of the hurt and trauma you experienced in the "church" was not the of the true and living God. God created the earth and everything inside the earth, including BEAUTY. It pleased the Lord to make women beautiful, there is nothing wrong with wanting to be beautiful, so don't equate negative thoughts about beauty taught to you with the Lord Jesus Christ, the Word says that God shines forth perfect in beauty. Beauty is of God. Return to Him, be yourself. God Loves you so much, and he doesn't want to lose you to your pass hurts from people. Right. If you need to birth new people to leave YOUR legacy it’s because you never had one in the first place and you’re hoping for a redo with the kids

The problem is there is a whole mess of language not being used correctly when discussing these topics - lineage vs legacy is one that needs to be picked apart. 👏🏾💯

Thank you for your perspectives. I def believe, any woman talking about beauty privilege would cause people wanting to silence it lol. Cuz yea how dare you try to get prettier lol. This helps me to embrace instead of glowing myself down to fit in. i've felt inner jealousy too over a womans look because I wish i looked like her. My dad said my nose rings were ugly. I took them out. Even though they were dainty and cute. Male friends prefer my natural hair so I try not to flat iron. lmao crazy... I'm slim tryna put on mass, so people ask why am i going to gym... lol I'm bout to bust out.

back in HighSchool I had such bad acne it was giving pizza face but I still got lots of attention from people especially boys and a lot of girls didn’t like that…😂 definitely had lots of bullies and haters growing up, even girls I was friends with at some point turned out to be my biggest enemies unfortunately. I always knew I had pretty privilege, I was born beautiful and I’m proud to admit that. On top of pretty privilege I’m naturally beautiful I hate makeup, I’ve only worn it twice in my 21 years of life and the times that I did wear it, it broke out my face smh. Idk how girls wear makeup, I give y’all credit! I am grateful God made me the way that I am. one thing that helped me get rid of my acne completely was I stopped eating MEAT. I haven’t eaten a piece of meat since 2017, which was 7 years ago. Once I stopped eating meat my skin started becoming softer, clearer, more glowy. Growing up, I was very picky about my food especially when it came to meat. So when I stopped eating it all together, I felt relief. I was like this whole time meat was the cause of my bad hormonal acne, smh… I still love my cheese though but don’t eat it as often as I used too. I mainly eat now fish, eggs, potatoes, greens, fruits, bread, pasta, etc. I’ve always had a fast metabolism my whole life and a naturally petite/slim thick body which I’m very grateful for that as well. But great video girl ❤

I feel like we kinda lived the same life - just the part you posted obvs I don't know your whole life lol but I'm older now - I started wearing makeup at 21 so I'm giving you advice (that you didn't ask for and might not need but here goes lol) when it comes to makeup...just don't. Invest in your skin (take supplements, improve diet , drink distilled/ spring water only, get a filter for your shower/taps , get a dermatologist/derm recommended skin care ) ....but keep makeup off your skin and pay attention to keeping your skin barrier healthy. I had teen acne but really could have saved myself if I never started wearing makeup everyday or started using harsh chemicals on my face...❤

@@femdivinemind7777 I don’t wear makeup love. I’ve only worn it twice in my life (for prom and my moms wedding) I hate the way it smells and irritates my skin. I’ve worked too damn hard on my skin to get this clear after years of having acne to ever mess it up by wearing nasty chemically makeup lmao. but thx for the advice. have a blessed day. 🙏🏽

53:03 It’s a hard rub to be pretty to those who don’t believe they’re special so they will want you to minimize your own beauty in a way that is digestible for them.
I can’t subscribe to that nonsense.
