So much was addressed this offseason: Spacing, Coaching, and competent roster construction. Success to me would be +30 wins, Cade flirting with an All NBA selection, Ivey/Duren showing improvement (Ivey needs to continue his preseason form, and Duren needs to defensively improve - rebounding alone cannot be the solution), and a problem overlooked by casual watchers, which is we need to stay healthy. Everyone laughed at Cade for saying the Pistons were not a “2-26 bad” team, and that’s because if you watched the game, you’d see so many of the players were trying hard, there was just so many factors that stopped us from being better, and we addressed a lot of it this summer. NO! I’m not expecting us to be in the playoffs, but I expect us to not be the laughing stock of the league anymore

Realistically it is so hard to improve season by season, especially by 16+ wins. Imo their floor should be 20-25 wins and their ceiling would be 30. If they get above that, it would be a monumental success

preseason has already been a mini win I think, Cade and Ivey going off showing that Monty really was the problem, so I think as long as players like Ausar can keep working on their shots and being consistent, improvement on all sides of the floor is a win this season (and I'm saying that as a fan)

You're right about that use of speed and changing gears. When Jaylen Brown came into the league he had one speed, ultra fast, but now a few years later he's learned to use different gears and make the defense play at the pace he wants. That's the difference between being an 18 minutes 6ppg rookie and a finals MVP.

As a pistons fan, success means improvement. Asuar shows improvement shooting, Duren improves defensively, Ron Holland shows anything, sasser looks good off the bench, Ivey becomes a good ball handler and shows shooting improvement. I don’t care about the record, just improvement.
A successful season for me would be the continued development of our young guys, especially Jaden Ivey and Cade as a two man tandem. I feel like they can definitely be a 1-2 punch and were robbed of development last season with Monty as the coach. Throughout the preseason (which is just preseason but can show what’s to come) Jaden Ivey has looked much better shooting wise and the team has looked a lot better with much more spacing for Cade to operate in. It has been quite fun to watch. Id also like to see Ausar get better at shooting. We’ve seen him working with Fred Vinson (our new shooting coach) and has already been making his shot look better. I’d also like a continuation of Durens offense and to be consistent on defense. I believe he can become a good Mid range shooter as he’s pretty decent at shooting free throws as a big man (79%). but with all that being said I’m thinking 25-35 wins which would be a big improvement from last season.

Try to draft a true center or trade for one and run a center off the block. Also slow the ball down basically to the 4 second mark.

This aspect has been called the "0.5 Offense", which was a phrase coined by the media for their benefit. It made for easier to remember headlines. It was actually a HABIT Monty was teaching, not an Offensive System. This FOUNDATIONAL HABIT of making quicker decisions can be applied to ANY offensive system. When a new coach emphasizes WIND SPRINTS or PUSHUPS, it's not called "The WIND Sprint" or "Push Up" offense. The Pistons have definitely benefited from having been DRILLED by Monty Williams in making quicker decisions AKA "Reading the game." Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
I think the Pistons need to swing a trade for a certified superstar and build around that. Do whatever you can to get somebody in the building that’s worth it. Also you bring in guys that actually look the part

I think the Pistons need to swing a trade for a certified superstar and build around that. Do whatever you can to get somebody in the building that’s worth it. Also you bring in guys that actually look the part
