I have to admit, I really like Steve and Luka as a pair of content producers. They riff of each other quite well, and actually get into the interesting discussions that make these kinds of battle reports worth watching.
I know your limited by models available to the studio but you could really use some skink screens to help protect against these long Bomb charges / alpha strikes. They are also much better bait lol. And if your really concerned with no rend. The skink star priest with his mortal wound stick could be what your looking for, especially on units with lots of attacks like rippers and knights. Which you obviously have/like. Also kroak is a slann only better in almost every way (no relic/trait) but if the old blood is your general anyway those extra points are totally worth it. If the model is available give it a try, that 4++ and another possible 6++ make him very resilient. Love the lizards, keep up the good work.
At 41 minutes, Steve forgot about the Carnosaur riders having the new "Terror" ability that affects enemy units on battleshock tests. Also, this list is good but definitely needs some point juggling to afford a bastiladon' and a couple salamanders. Seraphon melee always needs that ranged backup IMO.
Regarding what couls've been done differently I think the answer would've been to have a screen. Now this is something you have to take into consideration while building the army and to have units designed to die.
the feeling i get from the coalesced from watching you play them repeatedly is that you want to try to engage your opponent with 1 big unit at a time so that you can stack all your big buffs onto that unit and thus make each of your units become very efficient datasheets because of the buffs you were able to stack on them.
Great work, in this list with the way it hurts for command points, i think the scar vet on cold one is the better option. That gives room to bring a star priest. Giving a CP on a 5+ , mortals on 6 to hit, and either reroll 1’s to hit or ignore battleshock.
Love the Seraphon paint scheme. Any up close photos of the Saurus anywhere? Separately, if anyone knows a good place to look at different Saurus colour schemes I’d love to know,
Steve you rly need to try things like skunk Starpriests and skink Starseers they are very good at buffing like 3d6 charges add1 to saves or subtract 1 from enemy saves and mortal wounds in addition is great. They also can give extra command points aswell.
47:30 You get bonus +1 to wound rolls with the Gauntlet against Chaos Daemons! You rolled the # of attacks wrong though... so who KNOWS what would've happened
@MWG Studios The rules you set up a Realmshaper Engine before any other terrain. Stick it an inch away from the edge of your deployment zone, deploy the Slann inside and start pumping out those mortals. Put your guard in front to pass off damage and soak charges, anything that does charge you will take D3 mortals on a 2+ from being close to the Engine.
steve messed up by no keeping track of all of his command ability ranges and feel no pain auras . and he was too far up . if he did both of these he would of been better prepared
Maybe this knight heavy list would be better with two smaller groups of knights that cycle charge one charging each turn while the other falls back that way you would always be getting the extra stuff for the spears and the extra to hit without spending command points. I dont have the math in front of me to see if a eisier hit half as strong every turn would be better than one massive easy hit and then being useless after that. Calvary is about the charge
Hey Steve, I know you like the guard but the saurus warriors and guards have the same offensive characteristics. Saurus warriors with spears actually outdamage them both and are cheaper too. Lastly the saurus oldbloods spear explodes on 6s, you should probably have killed that thirster. You were really unlucky tho. Cheers
Steve, check out the Trogladon for the starborne. They can also generate summoning points and overall have gotten a little better. I'm bringing them in my thunder lizards too for an extra spell and the wounds are great with the new incandescent retricies! Also greatly improved are the salamanders, essentially 6 wounds and 4 great ranged attacks each.
It seems like garrisoning should grant better effects on the garrisoned unit to account for them being in side a building and being able to fight from the door or something...
Hello good afternoon. Could you explain how outrageous carnage of the bloodthirsther of insensate rage works? it makes a maximum of 4 mortals even if it has three 6, or else it would make 4 mortals for every 6. thank you very much !!

I know it's a command ability because you rolled the 4+ to get it back but I'm just lost here :) Please shed some light on it?
My IJs would be in a big trouble against coalesce, esp. if you mix in some shooting. I stilI like the concept, that this army might not be the best overall, but is a hard counter against some of the strongest (Ogor, Fyres., IJ, maybe even against flamer heavy Tzeentch) lists.

Seraphon were my first WH army and are still my favorite. I own enough models to run either coalesced or starborne and I will play them both ways. I do think they made the saurus and dinos more viable. However, I think the terrain feature was horribly designed and I still think skinks and casters is still the stronger version of the army. You get a little less summoning that before the new book came out but you gain much stronger magic. I think if you play coalesced your magic is weaker, you give up your crucial teleport ability, and you are unable to summon units outside of the EOTG. I still love them I just think you gimp yourself in order to use the models that we like more in the army. Just my opinion.
Ive been putting together my seraphon start collecting and in the saurus page it says that there s a spell that summons a unit of saurus (10 models) and when u roll 11 or higher 20 models. Havent seen it in any game with lizards, is it bad or? Im curious Very fun game 👊🏻💪🏻
That's a very old rule that was taken out in (I think) General's Handbook 1. The current way the Seraphon summon is, as of the new Battletome, by choosing the Starborne sub-faction, and then gaining by Celestial Conjuration points by having a Slann or Skink Starseer general, having an Astrolith Bearer, and by giving up spells on Slann and Skink Oracles. Then they spend the CCPs on new units in the Hero phase.

Just so you know when you garrison the terrain piece it's 20 wounds or less not models. GARRISON A Realmshaper Engine can be garrisoned. The models making up the garrison of a Realmshaper Engine must have a combined Wounds characteristic of 20 or less (if this would preclude all of the models in a unit from garrisoning the Realmshaper Engine, then the unit cannot garrison the Realmshaper Engine).

Not a fan of coalesced global -1 damage. Like you guys said, it's a hard counter to some other factions, and hard counters aren't fun. It's why AoS has been such a fun game until recently, there are rarely matchups that seem like foregone conclusions.
Double turn is the reason i am never going to play AoS along whit a few of my friends there are a lot of people who agree whit me on this that it just feels so bad to loose becose of the roll of a single dice that you could do nothing about
Honestly, after playing quite a few new games where there's no set turn order, saying you lost just because of a double turn is pretty much just and excuse for poor dice, poor list building, or poor choices.
except its a game based on objective control. you go i go every time would result in games being decided from turn 2 due to certain armies deployments. itd be boring as fuck
I was actually thinking something similar. First, that it seems "too good", but as I thought about it, I realized I wasn't familiar enough with AoS to really judge how it balances out with the rest of the army and the game in general. It seems that getting a 4+ more then four times in a row is highly unlikely, meaning that the "use a bunch of command point buffs in one turn" combo that was pulled off is actually very unlikely.

You can always play without it! Or alternate activation!
except its a game based on objective control. you go i go every time would result in games being decided from turn 2 due to certain armies deployments. itd be boring as fuck
They need to nerf that 4+ command point
Yeah just in case this crap, nerfed to the ground codex get a single good thing. Better remove it fast
Steve and the new seraphon are a perfect fit for new sigmar battle reps! maybe seeing them against luca's bonereapers, or Vito's slaaanesh would be fresh to see!
board flow we saw them against bonereapers last week. Didn’t go well
@@imalu5757 well, i personally am polishing my kharadron overlords army from last year and frankly nobody seems to have 4 squads of thunderers with every special weapon like i do, or a massive squad of 12 skywardens with 4 volley guns, if i could see more battles of KO vs bonereaper, KO vs seraphan, KO vs new slaves to darkness, KO (more boots on the ground) vs Gitz, KO vs Nurgle. that is what i truely wanna see, but most battles use the units i always see, so just letting the guys know, all the sigmar teams that they know best should start cranking out new vids, with the new endless spell models and terrain features, no more cities of sigmar or old armies that havent gotten a recent update and new models. just wanting to inspire some future battles, my favorite battles Steve used to do was his Idoneth Deepkin vs Matt's stormcast and Steve plays beasts of chaos extremely well but im ready to see some other sigmar players dish out some big plays without forgetting important abilities cause it seems like we all do better focusing on 1 or 2 armies, but i know you guys are showcasing all these nicely painted armies, but you can get alot more love if you do your best played sigmar armies agaisnt eachother, or 2 v 2 sigmar battles would be fun, using all those multipliers and rerolls that make these games so notorious
maybe the upcoming Lumineth high elves could be the calling card Steve has been looking for in sigmar. O_O
I hate the double turn mechanic so much
Great report, double turn sucks, hope it's removed in 3rd ed, Also Steve is starting to look like Tank Abbot....
