@@RevMonkey In truth, it'd need to be the 620 caterham to accelerate like the Exige 410. If you find the 410 too much for you (Biker😂! ), you could get a 350. I was surprised to hear that you thought it lethal, most find it very drivable and intuitive. I was also surprised that you had issues with tram-lining as Lotus are legendary for compliant handling on rough British roads. However, what a pleasure to be a fly on the wall for the first drive for someone who is clearly clueless about the brand-thank you for sharing, loved it.
@@peterthompson9854 Yeah, it was moving all over the place. The roads in Surrey that I was on, I drive on my sports bikes, and the car felt a lot less stable - almost like a rod was loose. I was pushing it a LOT off camera though. Bikes seem to get away with it. On a smoother road or track there is no issue and what a fabulous car and experience. I do actually want another go and would definitely buy one if the Emira was not coming - might get one anyway - any of them - 350 up to 430. Ha, also, I never hold back and 30 mins in an Exige flooring it was not ideal prep. I am sure after a week of ownership I would not even notice it anymore. Ade
I maxed the Exige 419 on track. Drove it as hard as I could and I can tell you the brakes are BRILLIANT! And the car flatters you and gives you so much confidence. One thing it is not is dangerous. Glorious car!
I did actually love it and want to buy one. It might be that I only get the V6 Emira and get an Exige 4xx. I can't justify the 430 Cup but the 41o Sports are around 85k. Yeah, amazing cars. Ade
@@RevMonkey Ade, just get the Exige 410 with the manual and then get the Emira with the AMG 4 Cylinder with the Auto. Not point in you getting two V6 Manuals. The Emira will be for driving around and touring and feeling great about yourself and the Exige will be for the track blast. Perfect combination. 👍

The V6 is a beast and I love it, but that exhaust note will soon become tedious on the road. The Emira is BEAUTIFUL and needs to be shown off, but the Exige needs the manual and the track and you won’t be able to tell the difference between the 410 and the 430, so why stretch for it? Enjoy! Really enjoyed this video. I'm just about to swap my Evora for an Exige (only a 350 S). The sheer joy in your voice in this video certainly helped convince me this is the right move. If the Emira is as similar to the Evora as I imagine, it'll be a fantastic car for regular use, but not even on the same planet as the Exige for sheer fun!
Yeah, the Exige is really special and more unique as a fun, mad-dash, nutter, experience. 😄 They all feel really fast as the connection to the road is so good. The 350s will be more than fast enough and it is very light. Ade
Worth driving an Evora too for comparison. Not as mental as the Exige but the same connection to the road, easier to get in, more practical and still very capable on track. I've got a deposit on an Emira with B&C and will be trading in my Evora. Maybe see you at Goodwood?
Yeah, I assume you are on the forum. We should make a note of our movements and ideally meet up at the stand at some point so we can all discuss our feelings on seeing the Emira for the first time. I won't be sleeping well in the run up to it! Not too worried about driving the Evora. i can wait until the Emira now. In fact, in my case, it might be wiser so the experience is undiluted. I fully the expect the Emira to be heavy-ish and somewhat civilised and that is fine with me. Ade
What is not to like about these cars? Light, agile, sound great, awesome steering - it is a bargain supercar really and most drivers have no idea how good these things really are. Its like a hidden secret.
Nice dealership. These machines are faster in the turns than motorcycles. Exiges are curvy road rockets. I'll be buying an Emira as well. Lotus is the true drivers car. I'll keep the 111R as well at only 860kgs.
Yeah nice. Never really hankered after an Elise. Only drove one once.An Exige and an Emira does make more sense than a 4-Cyl and V6 pair of Emiras in many ways but having a new car with a new warranty is also attractive. It really depends how special the new car looks and feels. it will be 40% heavier so not the same kind of car at all. Umm, as I type that, the Exige sounds good.

@@lensoprezole5322 The V6 will be transverse like the Evora I believe. The 4-Cyl, well, nobody is even sure who is providing the engine so that is anybody;s guess. The aluminium frame is similar to that of the Evora but with modifications , I assume to take both engines and possibly to get the engine even lower. Ade
Yeah, that would be amazing but there are certainly no plans to do so. I think they might have to go through a whole loads of Type Approvals and crash testing BUT if the car sells as well it is appears to be then maybe they might change their mind as they would sell loads more for sure. Ade

I’m waiting for the next model year of the Emira. Too many teething issues with new cars. Probably won’t be bad, but it’s always a possibility, plus I’m hoping they add white to the lineup.
I understand. I have not got that patience! :) There will be many more colour and accessory options in a year's time and surely white will be available. It looks great in white with the black pack from pics on the forums. Lotus have spent a lot and the car is now 2 years in development so I hope, and expect, any issues to be very small, if any. Ade
I've been buying Lotus new from the dealers since 1996. Here's how you get into a Lotus. Open the door. Sit down in the seat with your legs pointing out sideways from the car, and your feet on the pavement. In other words, sit down sideways in the seat. Now pivot your body to bring your legs inside the car. "But I want to put my legs in first, I don't want to sit sideways on the seat" You're not driving a passenger car. You're driving a racing car made friendly enough for daily use. but not too friendly. If you want to put your feet into the car first, buy a passenger car or an SUV. .
@@RevMonkey There is a gal who lives close by - she drives an Evora. Nice gal too. I think the Lotus dealership here does good business. Right across the street is the city's Ferrari dealer, and Porsche and Lamborghini dealers are on the same block. So buyers have their pick of any of the latest exotics - really good business strategy having them all nearby. The dealerships are not all owned by the same group, either.
That technique really doesn't work well for most people in the trickier models like Elise and Exige. You can't sit in the seat first because it's so far away, and below the sill. And once your backside is in, it's hard to get both legs in past the steering wheel. Most people prefer to get one foot in first, then sit, then just bring in the second foot. Same approach for getting out, with right hand on the sill to lift yourself. Guess we're all different!
Yeah, I heard you didnt get some models which is a real shame. Such amazing cars. Many people do not even realise they exist - so one has to blame Triumph for that. Significant investment should now change all that. Ade

Oh yes, I know this. I did love the rawness of the Exige though at the time, whatever it was, it was tramlining all over the place. I really miss it now! I have been looking at them on Autotrader. The Sports look 'relatively' good value. The Cup's less so and very few FEs. The proper pronouncing of this Emira is going to be a challenge I think. It's pronounced "Em-ear-ah". Like United Arab Emirates. And it means "leader" in farsi or Arabic or some ancient language. I'm diggin you bought 2. I'm in NA & we can't even find all the colors it's going to be available in. I'm leaning towards the red one w/ black roof that I've seen on YT. Dark green would work too. U Brits are kicking ass in the super car department (between Lotus, Aston Martin & McLaren). The Italians are wondering Wtf is going on?
Ha, yeah, we might have the Italians scared a little bit but they are selling very very well still. Porsche will be a more worried, the Emira will definitely steal sales from the Cayman variants and base 911s. It will also take a lot of sales from the F-Type Jaguar I reckon. I am definitely getting the V6 in the red, with black roof and wheels. The AMG4 I have much more time and it will either be yellow or green. There are no opportunities for us to see the Emira in any other colour than those two launch cars seen at Goodwood. Ade
