A few days ago i got the airbag light flashing in my Mazda RX8.
The code indicates a problem with the passenger side side-airbag.
This is a video how to fix the airbag light.

No actually i didn't BUT it is always a good practice to disconnect the battery and wait 10 mins before working on the airbag system... there are a few videos with airbags blowing up while someone is working with the system...

God damn it, I have the code 21 and I cannot figure it out what the hell is wrong with it.
Checked the error code sheet and error 21 is related to the passenger FRONT airbag (not the seat side airbag). The code 21 has to do with the passenger airbag in the dashboard. The front airbags should have been replacement (most certainly) under "RECALL", was that done on the car?
@@varnasfix Thank you kindly for your reply. No, sadly it was not replaced under the "RECALL" thingy. I am struggling with this error since a very long time. Have changed the bag with the module in the steering wheel. Have changed the bag in dash of the passenger. Also have changed the main SAS unit... still, the error is present. It is driving me crazy, starting to think about taking out the gages and just "disconnecting" the wires from the air bag light lol
@@Yakuuzy85 Damn that sucks! All errors for code 21 that i found are:
Passenger airbag module (inflator No2) short circuit to body ground
Passenger airbag module (inflator No2)
short circuit to power supply
Passenger airbag module (inflator No2) circuit resistance high
Passenger airbag module (inflator No2) circuit resistance low
Always be extremely careful when handling airbag connections as on rare occasions they can blow out of nowhere... Disconnect the car battery and wait 10 mins just to be on the safe side...

It's off because you reset the system by disconnecting the plugs. It likely came back, I'm sure.
Actually it is because i disconnected the battery to do the procedure and that is how it got reseted.
I want to do i video update about that...
And yes it has come back. The treatment on the plug is to prevent that. After moving the seat all the way to the front and back the light has appeared.
@@varnasfix you told the guy 2 years ago in the comments below that you didn't disconnect the battery. Gotcha! 😎 Lol.. so which one is it? And did you ever fix the light for good? If so, how?
@@ve2430 Yes that is why i want to do a video update on the subject... I didn't know then what i know now :)
Even the slightest disruption in the airbag circuit will cause a fault to be stored and displayed by the airbag light. So I must have disconnected the battery as there no other way to reset the code except with a OBD scanner that has SRS level diagnostics..
Will try to do the video update as soon as possible!
@@varnasfix there's a chart that shows what the problem might be based on how the air bag light blinks. Helpful to get closer to the problem.
