I just went out and bought a new one online. It wasn't all that expensive (unless you buy it from California- the shipping is exhorbinant due to environmental risks) and it matches the rest of the interior. It's very easy to switch it out and only took me about 45 minutes, tops. I love it.
I guess Im asking randomly but does anyone know a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I was stupid lost the login password. I love any tips you can offer me!
@Zahir August thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
A bit skeptical about epoxy usage - this is a airbag cover, which is meant to break down when airbag is activated. So, in unfortunate case of an accident, you will send glass-hard peaces of epoxy to your passenger's face at at speed of about 200 mph.... Consider wrapping it with a layer of thin (thinnest possible) leather (or vegan leather) instead, as it can be glued only at the side of cover, allowing the main area to be easily teared apart by exploding airbag.
I talk about this in the video. After sanding the layer of epoxy is so minimal I don’t expect it to have any impact on the functionality of the airbag.
It definitely could! It also would probably have a bigger impact on airbag functionality, and also the surface isn’t ideal for wrap which is why I shyd away from this option.
@@TomlinPerformance Sunlight just destroys plastic, I don't know why everyone doesn't use a sunshade. BTW, I just had my engine rebuilt (after 100k miles), I'm hoping for another 10 years of service.

Where did you get it?
Just bought an rx8 today, and it has this same problem. Thanks for the video!
Man I figured this would have been seen more, I’m redoing my Rx8 now, the whole car.
Awesome man, goodluck!
@@TomlinPerformance I’m on my 3rd front bumper, new clutch and flywheel, new tail lights, new headlights, and now I have to fix the dash.
SICK DUDE- Keep up the rx8 vids and these awesome install videos. Following will grow with time! The young Slip Angle!
Appreciate it!!!

@Zahir August It did the trick and I now got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thank you so much you saved my ass !
I had the same issue in my 2004 RX8 and I got the replacement piece and got it fixed

use bondo instead
The plasticdip texture Looks like alcantaraa on the finish product 👌
Thank you for this video! My 2004 rx8 has terrible cracks on the airbag area. I’m gonna try this method!
Glad I could help! Goodluck!
Same bro. It’s only on the airbag area for my 04 rx8
92,000 miles for an rx8? Damn good job taking care of it. I’m nearing the need to engine rebuild at 89,000
Wouldn't have wrapping it have been a potential solution and look more uniform than flocking?

Nice! I have a spare I may try this on. Think I will just put the material in a salt and pepper shacker to even the distribution.
This video will help a lot! Thanks
I would love to see an update after two years now. How is it? Is the surface still clean?
Unfortunately, I have a bad habit of not keeping a car around for more than a few months. All my rx8’s have been sold.
@@TomlinPerformance ok thx anyway 😊
Gunna try this method on my RX-8
Niice 👍 good job bruv
I have a 2004 and I never had this problem....I wonder why.?
Maybe the climate this cad has been in for most of its life, or never left out in sun
@@TomlinPerformance ya. Probably not a much out in the sun.. I've been putting UV raise protection on it too. Hopefully it helps.
Thanks!!
How is it holding up?
Still looks good!
I've been religious about putting in a sunshade. My 2010 GT looks good as new, no cracks.
Right on keep it that way! Rare to find. Unfortunately Both mine were cracked when I purchased.

Who did your rebuild? I need one.
