I was gonna say,I think a lot of Puerto Ricans ,especially older ones wouldn't understand what he's singing, although probably 80% of the words you went over would be understood by the average person.Bichote doesn't necessarily mean a bigtime dealer,it could be a local dealer who runs the caserio.Another Puero Rican word that's used all the time, zafecon=garbage can..Rumor is that it was corrupted from safety can.LOL.Also another bigtime word is asicalao.Don't know if I spelled it right, means dressed up,cleaned up,powedered and perfumed.

Since I’m Puerto Rican I totally understand this, there are a lot of bilingual aspects that we have. Such as changing shoes, “zapatos” to “teniz.” We made a lot of words it’s crazy. I tell my Spanish teacher about this stuff and she doesn’t agree with it and she’s lived in Puerto Rico for some time of her life but came from Cuba. I kind of understand though, it’s Puerto Rican slang and not your normal Spanish. There are more Puerto Rican’s in the states than there is on the island, there is a lot of history that goes to how much the island has changed including all of Latin America as well.

I understand him best. His mix of Sp/eng is Fire. If you are older like me (60),,Just know that
bad bunny has an AmazingIy diverse songbook that has song
qualities for more easily put off Listeners. Some songs I've looked up translation
and thought "Oh No I don't want to be singing that walking down the street" but like the music & speed of the sound to work on pronunciation and real time comprehension.
No1. Si veo tu mamá. 2, Yonaguni 3. Canción ( J. Balvin with Bad Bunny )
      4. Sensualidad and many
      more.
Watch youtube vid with translations.you will see many ways that words
      are shortened like
"esto e' pa' hoy" from a song I like. I searched til found what stood for.

As a Puerto Rican I can tell you we also have the word casco for the head or helmet. But we take the "s" away and replace it with an "h", so it sounds like ca-ah-co. But the word caco is said more like Kako with an emphasis on the first "a", in reality it would be read as Káko with no "h" sound.

It's funny to me that you explained everything, because sometimes I forget that puertoricans are the only ones that speak like this. We do mix a lot of English, Spanish, some dialects from Africa, and also our native tongue wich is Taíno; this makes it hard to understand for other people. But honestly, all of us, that live on the island can understand him perfectly because that's how we speak, especially the younger generations because they grew up in a school system where they were taught English, with Disney channel, with tv shows like Dora and Barney, and also the music they listen too which is greatly influenced by English or even in English; all of this shaped the way we speak and, dare I say, makes us unique.

I'll never forget what an English professor commented on one of my first pieces: "Slang limits your audience." So imagine Bad Bunny or Piri Thomas writing a book or a song with ZERO slang? It would never be the same. But Piri Thomas had an ingenious solution. He actually included a Glossary and the end of his book for all of his English and Spanish slang. Bunny doesn't seem to give a shit that no one understands him. 😂🤣😅

Bro you wanna talk about EVOLUTION. With you breaking this down, I have to say BAD BUNNY is the BEST Latino trap rapper of our time. You are the best too. Thanks!

I love Bad Bunny but his speech is just different... English or Spanish its hard to understand sometimes. Not saying its bad though. I can understand when anyone else throws in English in their songs but never this guy lol.

Perhaps instead of shaming Puerto Ricans by playing bad bunny for a Spanish lesson you could do us proud by playing Cheo feliciano instead . Either way it's your rodeo and you are a good teacher

As a growing RUclips channel, one must use what is relevant and help people learn with the music and shows that they listen to and watch ya know.
Thank you for your feedback though. I can expand a little more as well so good advice 😁
