    Thank you for such a great tutorial. Finished my first pair of shorties today and immediately cast on another pair as I wanted to try this heel. What a revelation, this will definitely be my go to heel from now on. I usually do the heel flap and gusset and find it a chore and it almost puts me off when I get to that point. I can see me producing more socks from now on. X

      Aw I'm so pleased you like the shadow wrap heel - I was exactly the same as you with the heel flap and gusset! Just not my favourite and put me off socks for so long! Xx

    Oh Alex. Thank you so much for this helpful tutorial. I’ve knitted socks before with the slip stitch and gusset but find it such a chore and I don’t enjoy it. I’ll be doing this heel from now on. Thank you again. Christine

    Hello Alex, with my Fails of trying to knit socks on 9” circulars & DPn’s with a Heel Flap & Gusset 🥲 you have inspired me to try Magic Loop & the Shadow wrap Heel 😁 Magic Loop just added to my confusion when I have watched other tutorials 😉 but I will start with Commercial Sock Yarn to start with until I & Find the best method for me 😁 I may get to Finish my first pair of Socks 💕 Thank you for these Tutorial’s 😁❤️ Erica x

    Hello Alex, I am a crocheter 😉 & picked up knitting again last year, but only know the basics 😉 anyway all the Socks people knit got me inspired 😁 so I tried with knit pro Zing 9” circulars & got to the Heel Flap & Gusset & kept failing at picking up the stitches 🥲 then tried the Heel with DPn’s & failed again 🥲 So I gave up & went back to Crocheting ❤️ Erica x

      Hi Erica I hope your getting on OK with them- I was just like you! I started exactly how you did and gave up in frustration 🤣 I still can't use 9 inch circs and I really don't like heel flap and gusset - bit it is just personal preference with socks - lots of people love heel flap and gusset - I encourage you to try all the different heels and see which u prefer 😊💕xx

    Hello Alex I am a total new knitter to socks & this tutorial is very helpful indeed to me for the Shadow wrap Heel 😁 & also Magic Loop. 😉 what make & size needles do you use & length please? Erica x

    • @myyarnycorner
      @myyarnycorner  Год назад +1

      Hi Erica 😊 16" cable as the smallest but I think the bigger the better and I use 2.5mm knit pro zings - it really is what works for tou though - I started with 2.75mm needles and moved down to 2.5mm over time - lots of people start with 2.5mm though so I would reccomemend those 😊 xx

    • @myyarnycorner
      @myyarnycorner  Год назад

      Are you pulling it tight enough? Are uou making sure your packing up the purl collar (the strand that goes around the stitch?) Xx

    Is it the same technique for every amount of stitches? I casted on 72.

    • @myyarnycorner
      @myyarnycorner  3 месяца назад +1

      For the shadow wrap heel do you mean? If you cast on 72 you would have 36 on one needle so 12 twin stitches on either side of 12 normal stitches - you devide the stitches as best you can into 3 - but yes the same technique. If you had 32 stitches you would do 11 twin stitches either side of 10 normal stitches - does that make sense? Xx
