In todays video I went around Portland trying some of the best rated coffee shops in an effort to see which is the best! Hope you enjoy and be sure to subscribe!
Hi! I just wanted to share a little information, in case you were interested. (Coming from an ex-barista, because I love coffee and love to share). You won't "burn" espresso running it through an espresso machine. It's just not going to be hot enough to harm the coffee in that way. (This goes for any steam based or boiling water extraction methods). What you can do is over-extract the coffee, under-extract the coffee, or "burn" (overheat) the milk. Usually the burnt taste is because the milk has been overheated. Or it can be that the grinder plates are blunt, generating excessive friction and overheating, causing issues with the beans in the grinding process. An overly bitter taste is generally the result of under, or over extraction. Also: Thanks, for sharing this video! There are a LOT of videos out there sharing where to eat, what to do and which doughnuts to try in Portland, but nobody seems to be talking about the coffee! Even down here in New Zealand I have heard that Portland has great coffee culture and I am grateful that at least someone is sharing their tips and experience so I can get a bit of insight. Thank-you!
Not a coffee drinker but really enjoyed the video! It was also great seeing a bit of Portland's public transportation here and there in the background! As always, excited for your next video!
Hello from Singapore! This video got recommended to my main feed, I enjoyed this video a lot! I visited Portland a few years ago to see a good friend and your video brings up good memories of my brief visit to the city. Consider me a new subscriber!
