Extremely helpful to have someone speak from experience. I've been hearing a lot of banter about DistroKid, but I think I will give them a shot so I can stop procrastinating on releasing projects. Worst-case scenario, I'd just transfer to another company. Thank you for this video!
If you use any distributor but especially if you use distrokid you can upload your music to collabhouse for free they take 25% though anyone can license your music ranging from a RUclipsr to a large music company
Distrokid is good but crazy at the same time. I left it coz I had 14 tracks and paid for content ID , life pan of the releases each and so forth. You end up spending more than you earn.
Can you explain a little more into spending more than you earn please? I’m currently new to the whole music thing and am currently on a free plan for tunecore so my music is on RUclips, tiktok etc but I’m looking into all the distributors to see which one would be worth paying for to release my music onto Spotify etc, but I thought for distrokid you just need to pay the yearly fee and that’s it, is there more to it?
But distrokid right now its taking people’s songs and lie bout bots streams after than we don’t get answers, and this is happening to everyone right now
Not really it’s been months with me and nothing hasn’t happen to me. One thing I’ve hear about is the reason why is happening is due to using the spin of wheel. For my first song I actually just promote the shit out of my music then using the wheel
Thank you very much for an in depth video. I am in the process of releasing my first single after many years of being an artist. I wanted to understand the easiest process. I believe I will go with distrokid. Thank you for the guidance. I also subscribed to your channel....
@randallrutherford1384 Thanks for asking Randall. It did not do well at all because of my lack of marketing knowledge. I plan to try again with the same tune.
ive got millions of streams with instagram and Facebook but I haven't seen a dime from them even tho Facebook is really rich everybody's out to steal from you in the music business
As part of my content creation, I want to create videos that primarily feature music paired with my images. These videos are intended to provide a music listening experience to my audience, where the visual elements serve to enhance the musical atmosphere without overshadowing the music itself. Does DISTROKID offer a service allowing me to use your music and my images to post on RUclips? I aim to monetize these videos on my RUclips channel, which is not affiliated with any major corporation.
Attorney probably the best option.
