- Been playing on my PS5 recently, and I've notice how desperate some people are in getting S rank. Does that even mean anything when you didn't really earn it the right way? Fromsoft should really fix this soon.
If you're in the list of players who were featured in the video, stop being trash.
If you meet them online, just dc ahead of time. saves you the time and effort.
The only real results is either draw or lose anyway
PS, if you're playing Ranked, don't be trash. Have the decency to just accept you lose sometimes and just try again.

Bro, I DO NOT understand how people who have AC's 10x more busted than yours are DCing when you outplay them. Literally unbelievable - Amazing gameplay, and super sucks to see you deal with this, I'm hoping the next patch fixes this :(
Thanks bro! I hope the next patch penalizes those who dc'd multiple times during the current patch. All I see in my match logs right now are Draws and a few loss
some people will do questionable things to get a small pic of letter S in their profile ;)
The outplay makes them rage, they play busted builds and expect easy wins. Sad.

They get shadow-banned the next day and can only play with other people who DC.

You can tell who's a dark souls tourist and who's a proper raven by who sticks it out in honorable battle no matter how bad.
The sad reality is that probably most people in S rank are those who disconnected during promotion phases, especially when you have to win 8 matches in a row with only 2 chances at best to lose.
The skilled people you can actually find are either in B or A ranks, not to mention that if you look at the top of S rank you'll only find the same 4 copy-paste meta builds with very few variations.
As for the current situation, promotion phases and their structure are a joke by themself, the only thing they really promote is bad behaviour in terms of gameplay.
I dunno boss, I've fought in S Rank for a day now, only 1 person DC on me who was about to lose to me. Rank 08 Akita, out of 30+ matches. Everyone else stuck to there guns, some even pulled out a counter to what I was playing with, and wiped the floor with me in the next match xD

Game really needs a concede match option.
I get its not fun and its frustrating when someone else's build completely nullifies your own and you're basically forced to watch your ac get trashed no matter what you do.
At least being able to concede would mean neither party would have to deal with that frustration and it wouldn't affect rank progression
I'd say if you concede, the winning player has to get some kind of reward at least, like half the points you're supposed to get when you win.

In all honesty the matchmaking we got for ranked matches should have just been made for casual matches. It’s really nice and convenient to just load up matchmaking and quickly go from one game to the next. The only problem is like you stated in the video is that the higher up you go the exponentially higher chance you have running into scummy players.
Yes! Look at the Elden Ring arena where there is a sort of reward for winning (you go from bronze to gold or something like that) but no real ranks (you can get matched with everyone). This 1) increases playerbase across the board and 2) people don't run meta builds all the time and disconnect when they lose, because it's just for fun.
Please FromSoft, please do the same thing for AC!
I'm from Australia and most of the players I encounter in the ranked games are Japanese. I'm A 4.5 and very close to S and haven't had a single person dc since I started climbing. The Japanese have honour and I respect them A LOT. (Edit: Made it to S and had one player dc on me in promotion, non Japanese)
Also very very few quitters on PS5. Only once had someone DC on my and I was running a super scummy build then so I couldn't even get mad about it..
Still sucks when it happens. Especially if you're not even running the meta yourself.
@@EtrulzI'm on PS too. I had one person dc on me in promotion and I had to win the critical 10th game to reach S. Lucky I made it. I'd rage and turn into a beast otherwise!
You guys are very lucky. All these clips are from PS5(I'll make one for PC too). I'm from japan too! But I play like past midnight so I sometimes run in to westerners

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm glad all that roleplaying in my mind worked out well lol. Whenever I play, I always imagine how mechs would move in anime and try to imitate them. That way, it's more fun to watch lol
As a ps player its kinda cathartic to see some of these names. More than once I had to fight some of these peeps before I eventually wrote off ranked.
Ignoring all the negative match abandoning, your movement is really good! I havent seen anyone use assault boosting like i have for evasion and such, youre the first lol
Sadly true, I came across every single one of those guys and they all did weird shit. You could make a video about the rare good guys you fought. I think we met in ranked today😅. No seriously there is a lot of trash but I found some really nice Ravens still. Non Meta and with skill

we need a balance patch to even out the playing field and punishments for ditching matches. s rank means nothing when you can just leave to dodge a loss

People would alt f4 if u camp next to indestructible building n kite , 100%lose .
I recognize all of these. You got pulled into the DC matchmaking. Same thing happened to my main; my alts in S pull from a completely different player pool with zero DCs. Abusive_Daddy DC'd on me so many times (30+) it grabbed me too. Thankfully for the rest of the playerbase it's not as bad.
Pretty sure i had a match with you yesterday. You used the building to great effect to stop my ac being as effective as it could have been, so you deserved the win. My Ac was Apachy.
Just passed s promotion finally, every time i would either encounter the same tank build 4 times in a row or see my matches nullified by players quitting. Hope they patch it, so when someone disconnects at least the other player receives the points

The most agonizing thing is half of my promotion matches being snuffed out by disconnects. Like that Raw guy shown in the video? I fought them 4 times in promotion, and every time they disconnected. That was **4** wins out of the 10 that I won that didn't even count towards my promotion.
Honestly, I can understand that losing is frustrating, especially when someone busts out powerful builds but that's the challenge. To see if you can best them. Running away from a match when you're about to lose just makes you a coward.

I enjoyed a lot the lower ranks because I still saw originality in the builds and experimentation. Now is laser tanks everywhere that when outplayed the pull the plug. Also thank you for the awesome outplays with classic AC2 and AC3 ost.
Fought a few of these folks on Steam version, got the same result. They leave when they think they are losing. Or sometimes just flat out at the beginning of the match when they see who they are fighting. Thank you for exposing them. They are the reason S Rank is nearly impossible to obtain. Also, watch out for Rank 08 Akita. That dude bounced on me when I was about to win round 2. :l If you come across more, do another video so we can see who they are. You got my sub, boss.
I'm currently in A1 and I'm good. Still winning most matches, but I had more fun in late B than I'm having now. Very little room for experimentation.
On the other hand, my skill has drastically increased climbing ranks, which is a reason for me to keep pushing.

I'm only at rank B and i too have experienced these kind of DC'ing actions i just don't get it especially all my builds are pretty much meme buils like my all pulse bubble build and my zap zap Electric build

But they should add weight class matchmaking so we don't get ablotared by a top 30 heavy tank build
I totally agree, weight class matchmaking would be much better and more fun, just two lightweight builds zipping around, along with maybe just making a weight class matchmaking that isn't ranked
nah just fix AB and stagger system no need for weight class, the video LITERALLY showcasing you how to beat tank with normal midweight build, Plus the player base is not big enough for weight class matchmaking.

@@silverchrometheprotogen2130 dual earshot, any kind of lightweight kite build , any kind of missile build, if you play it well you can defeat tank. Yes AB and stagger system are the most ignorant mechanic to be introduced to an armored core series I know laser cannon attacker side netcode but the core problem is still AB and stagger system since day 1, At least in steam if you actually check the daily player count is not that high peaking around 3k which is incredibly low since those 3k players are not 100% pvp player some are pve enjoyer.
I just got the 3rd ending in single player. Now, I'm not sure if I want to dive into PvP.
I highly recommend pvp. Stay away from Ranked, unless you go for teams. If you wanna go singles, go custom matches for now. Hope you enjoy the game as much as I do 😁

I really do missing Rank B, after i few doesnt in Rank A i found myself just sticking to fucking scummy build and not even having fun anymore atleast with rank B is still see a couple of intresting builds A rank is mostly just metas and im bored. Wish theres some sort of casual que system or some shit i like the que of ranked since it carry an element of suprise and its easier to find matches than custom browser.
I hope that fromsoftware takes action on the matter, the games are not fair, the builds are mostly unbalanced because the meta is BVO, tank build or double zimmer, adding the fact that people can alt+f4 without any penalty is very disastrous on the part of the game development team. The season ends in February and I hope you listen to the community
Even outside of this the ladder system is so broken. You gain so many more points for winning than losing that you can climb with a negative winrate. And once you go up a tier there is no way to go back down. I had like a 40% winrate in B and that was enough to push me up to a promotion i got lucky in. Now I'm stuck in A tier fighting players way better than me and no matter how much I lose there is no way to get back into B. B where I still wasn't even winning 50% of my matches.
As a utility for finding players of your skill level it's completely non-functional.
there are some reasons as to why locking you in a rank is good for a game, but they really need to fix the issues with rank for it to matter just as an example if you are locked in A is more likely that you will try new builds to progress further since there are no cost to innovations but that also means that people with some luck as you said your self, will be locked in a rank above their abilities the easiest way to fix would be to have hard lock on the ranks but have the rank stages decide more prominently your matches
Being locked into playing against players way above your skill level if anything is gna make people resort to meta builds to stop losing. No idea why you think it would encourage innovation. People try new things in a competitive game when they feel comfortable experimenting, not when they're on a massive loss streak.
@@JE-nf2gd because it's been proven, TFT has a similar system and according to their statistics the main change in player pattern after they locked ranks was that they started to play more matches and diversify builds, if you won't be penalize for innovating then you will try it

In my experience constantly losing is a significantly greater penalisation than losing rank. I dunno I don't really attatch much ego to my rank besides as a tool to find even matchups, which in AC6s case it doesn't.
Like we can't necessarily apply something that worked in TFT to all games either. If I understand correctly it is a turn based game where the innovation and strategy is the gameplay. Whereas for fighting games and action games there can be an actual execution skill gap of learning execution of complex inputs and getting them into your muscle memory so that you can execute them at high speed. This means that you can't really "out innovate" a much more skilled player than you, you just lose.
I'd be in favour of this kinda of rank locking in games where the innovation and stategy is the entirity of the gameplay, I'd welcome it in magic:the gathering. But I really don't think it suits games where reflexes and execution are a big part of it.
@JE-nf2gd Well, considering that half the game is actually tunning your AC, I think it is a good idea to allow innovation. For example, if ranks weren't locked, I couldn't try to find new strategies against tanks since being demoted would pit me against players that lack skill it would void the purpose of finding ways of defeating tank players in high ranks also that way I can fight against enemies of my level with new builds without having to re grind my rank with my normal build
AC isn't your average third-person shooter. it is more like a fighting game than anything else and even then giving you the ability to modify everything it makes it so that if you are stuck, the solution can be a part replacement or an improvement on skill equally, my build was okish but once I added a shield it went directly to A rank if you keep loosing change your loadout that can help more than you think that's is why am in favor of locked ranks
The fact that you even stop when they stop just incase their batteries died or something, only for that sportsmanship to be rewarded with a disconnect. Honor among warriors seems few and far between on rubicon, i respect your fortitude for pushing onward despite all the trouble, just means youre really good :)
Yeah, usually when someone gives up they let you know by discarding all their weapons. But if they just stopped suddenly, their battery might have ran out or suddenly have something serious like seizure or something caused by the KRSV or Moonlight flashy effects. If so, I'll just let the timer run out or until they start moving again

My PS+ expired some days before I started playing due to my protests against the price hike. After seeing this, being unable to access multiplayer might have been a mercy to me all along.
PS player here. Already S ranked ages ago with my own build that i enjoy just confirming that the Disconnects dont stop. Even in S rank, and thats even if you get a quick game in the first place. S rank is a barren wasteland that'll have you fighting the same person over and over until one of you gets tired and gets on customs or gets off the game. Many hollow pilots, and many more hibernating pilots, so enjoy the ride up as best you can before it stagnates.
I guess ill just stay in low ranks lmao. Im in PS too qnd i dont wanna fight plugging players

A casual "Quick Match" button and a resign option in the pause menu could help fix that (and a fucking ping indicator ffs)

I've thankfully (mostly) avoided the whole "leaver" thing in 3's, but that gamemode is so dogshit otherwise that I don't think I'm touching it again since I've S-ranked it.

Ranked has burnt out every single trace of good faith or respect for the playerbase (matched is where I go to actually have fun), but the one thing I will NEVER do is DC or resort to ping damage + running away. I have no real hope things will ever improve, based on the new parts and weapon From seems pretty supportive of getting meta or getting the hell out.

I've recently clawed my way to B rank (PS4) with strictly non-meta builds only, and boy oh boy, there are a shit ton of people disconnecting on purpose at the very moment they FELT they have a slight chance of losing. If Fromsoft really want to put any sort of emphasis on PvP, they better step up there game, literally.
On a more positive not I love seeing the creative builds like this one. Unfortunately I use heavy tetrapods so missiles are really my only option
A good advantage of tetrapods is that you can use heavy weaponry without stopping while you hover. Also, the knockback can at times lock you off the enemy's reticle if their arms have a low enough tracking. That can be really useful

I'm willing to admit I rage quit im the face of a heavy laser tank I fought twice back to back, but I did by simply closing the application on playstation. It still logged a loss for me so I assume my opponent still gets their win if you quit that way? I hope so, makes me feel better about that moment of rage

Well the point of them disconnecting is that, during promotion phase for example, you can only lose a certain amount of time. By disconnecting, the match is considered draw and therefore is not considered loss. They can do this over and over again so that they dont lose points at all, thereby cheesing their way to S rank
Honestly people who just cheated their way up should face a substantial penalty for quitting/closing mid game.

I'm playing on Xbox and I can say the situation is no different from Ps5 or pc the amount of disconecters is crazy and there are also toxic people who would hate mail you if you win, its ridiculous how so many grown adults act childish and just don't want to play fair

DCing from a match i don’t mind as much(it still sucks), it’s just that the player who stays doesn’t get compensation for wasting that time and the one who DC’d would potentially gain from doing that

I've been hard stuck at A rank for weeks. All I ever see in ranked anymore is missile boats and zip code cannons, and it seems like I can't go any further purely because I'm unwilling to bend the knee to the meta.

As a low rank casual player who don't know much thing about high level pvp, I have a genuine question:
Alt f4 sure is pathetic, but what are your opinions on people who use builds/strategy that can be considered as cancer? Like a full-missiles endless hovering kite build?
I really have mixed feelings about that, like sometimes it pisses me off when I see the other guy staying 1k feet above, throwing a metric to onf missiles at me, and sometimes I love when I manage to outsmart them and get them. The other way around, I wanted to try one of these, and I found it to feel really different, but quite enjoyable sometimes (I'm not staying in the air the entire time though, but I use it among other moves with this build). And sometimes I do realise that most of the time it makes everything more easy, and I kanda have the impression that I am ruining the fun for everyone.
Well, sorry if my english is not that good, and sorry if I spend to long explaining, but I reaaly was curions about the opinion of serious pvp players on this one. Do you consider these builds/player as scummy as the Alt f4 ones? Or do you think it's annoying but fair, and experienced players would be able to get them anyways?
I had just went inro ranked today after awhile and got a BVO that dc'd when i done nothing but stagger him, and im in high c rank btw. It's just sad seeing all of this and seeing how ranked became now just completely south than we hoped. Maybe the next patch will help

Trudged through into S rank….it feels awful that I don’t really want to touch singles anymore. People who use the obnoxious builds there just feel even more obnoxious then ones fought previously. Hope the next patch comes soon and that it brings some things down a notch or two
In every ranked anything ever, if someone leaves, they lose. Why is this not an accepted universal standard? People should be allowed to forfeit, just count it as a loss.

I call it the Hero Build! Uses FromSoft's classic weapons, the Karasawa(KSRV) and Moonlight.
I don't recommend using this build lol. It's not exactly newbie friendly.

Disgraceful. Those are not even worth the name themselves, Raven. Not as much as your video yet, but PC is basically the same. Not sure there are penalties for acting like that. From Software should do something about this awful game play experience. Otherwise, the whole rank game and sorts will be just meaningless.
Still, your game plays are outstanding and even affected me cuz after watching your video, I've started using more needle missile like you. Hope you keep it up and keep fighting, Raven.
At this point just give us our points when enemy dcs. Banning people is too slow of a fix. They can ban them but I feel like still having my points would make it a lot less frustrating
I'm waiting for the next patch and rank reset. Hopefully they address tanks, heavies, kiters, and larrmeiger (misspelled) missile rats.
I have not long gotten to A rank, and I experienced this same shit after getting sent back to the start of A rank multiple times, so I just ran my AC "GOLD" Free Kill apparently you can't drop rank I want to be back in B.
I'm not sure what's wrong with the ranked pvp community, you don't see this behavior in dota 2 or CSGO, only AC 6 since the punishment is not explicit
Hence why I simply don't play PVP. This is depressing to watch.
I mean you shouldn't be the one to give in just because of a few trash players.. But yeah I get what you mean. Would probably stick to custom matches instead.
Lower ranks have very few dcs in my experience, and there's custom matches that avoid this entirely. Only high ranks attract the ego tripping loonies
@@MisterCynic18i’m currently A and so far i’ve been lucky to only encounter 2 DC’s. one in B and one in A. i think it’s more common in the higher ranks because there’s higher stakes involved? not too sure
These guys are worse than PC. I got a plenty of S ranks altF4ing on me during promos, rank 85 just yday, "Nemris". What a bunch of sad people.

For me i didn't mind if they alt+f4 when the game start but alt f4 in mid game is disgusting
Maybe just maybe this meta build is designed for easy and quick kill but you use protagonist build, rather than gaining easy win you got godlike skill like a protagonist!!!
Having played both i found console wayyyyyy easier to climb on than PC

Ill be honest im so far only playing Ac6 for the mecha creation(rn im making Tekkaden gundams into Ac's ive made Lupus and Flauros and im super proud of them) and I've been hoping to play some pvp, thats in the NEST I assume..??, to put my builds like say..... Sazabi (The build that got me past difficult bosses for me like AllMind Iguasu or the Arquebus' Balteus) or Flauros, to the test and this is kinda discouraging...?
