It's like he progressed from a early 90s Nintendo chiptune sound to a late 90's Sega CD synth style. Definitely a departure from the early works, but I love the direction he's going in.

I miss custom soundtracks, like the 360 had at first. I can think of a few games I'd play with this instead of their OSTs. Namely Persona 3-5, which feel tonally dissonant to me (and only me, it seems).
You can run Spotify on your console in the background of any game. Then just turn the in game music volume all the way down. You can also blend the volume between game and music to the right amount so it sits nicely. I do it all the time
@@sekretmagick Certain games do not have separate sliders for music, VO, effects, etc. I'm kind of an audiophile, so I need sound in certain games to really get in to them. Buuuuut I also have terrible misophonia, and lyrics in my OSTs drive me almost as insane as someone popping gum.

Those are the ones I remember, because I legit HATE the soundtracks. I know it's an unpopular opinion. I don't feel like relitigating their quality or what the rest of the internet thinks.
