so what was the reason for announcing your counteroffensive and it's goals half year before it starts? Russian army just did what they had to in building defences and now can enjoy burning Leopards
I mean, that's the point why people called it a bullshit idea and how undermining the Russians was bad. And now the ukies zerg rushed an open minefield for 3 months with 4 razed to the ground towns captured and 95% of the Russian defense line still intact. And as this counter offensive failed and we West don't have any remaining offensive vehicles, it's over.

Despite being some of the most advanced tanks in the world, the Leo2A6s are still quite vulnerable when it has no infantry support and its thrusted into an enemy held position like its 1960s soviet era equipment lol. Bradley's on the other hand, well, they are quite out dated, but eh, who am I to judge? Still, I'm not surprised they lost those Leos and Bradley's so quickly after getting them. They made the same mistake the Russians did at the beginning of the war, just rushing head first into a prepared and waiting enemy... AFTER POSTING IT ON SOCIAL MEDIA!
BTW, Leo2A7V best tank hands down. I believe its their most current edition, and was also made in memory of Germanys first tank, the A7V.

I read somewhere that this Ukrainian brigade was trained extensively by the US and NATO allies to use "standard NATO battle tactics." But I dont remember NATO tactics to be rushing the enemy head-on like the Soviets/Russians?

Zaluzhniy received much less than 1/4th. of the hardware that he had requested for a long, protracted push to the pre-February 24th. borders if that was possible, and on top of all that, Ukrainian troops received only appalingly basic NATO training.
There's simply no way that Ukraine can keep on going like this unless USA and NATO finally decide to start having balls and send Tomahawks and ATACMS in large numbers to help them, but so far, this conflict has only been ever kept alive due to token arms transfers, which end in nothing if the equipment is going to be used like shit, and not how exactly it was mean't to be used.
NATO and USA's faults are dragging their feet to get shit done, like we saw with the first attempted transfer of MiG-29 jets to Ukraine, and Ukraine's faults for this counter-offensive are this poorly-prepared and executed rush towards a prepared enemy, and overall poor command structure when it comes to mechanized warfare on an open ground, even without air support. Why send priceless F-16 jets to the Ukrainians if American-made cruise missiles and air defense systems do the work just fine?

what happened is that the Russians built fake trenches along the front, and built their actual manned defenses within tree lines to obscure it from NATO satellites, nato intelligence fell for this bait and thought it would be the best place to attack, because through the satellite photos they did not see that these positions were manned and concluded that a force of just 40k and a spearhead straight through would work.
