Tamil Harvest festival (15 January 2023) - Pongal in tamilian village.
Out of many festivals in the calendar, I dare say, Pongal is given more priority than others in South India, especially in Tamil Nadu where I live. It is a four-day harvest festival. It's celebrated in January during the harvest season to express gratitude towards Sun for fruitful season (as per Moon calendar). Today's video presents a full day celebration in the Indian village in beautiful land of Tamil Nadu for Thai Pongal [15th January 2020] - pooja is thanksgiving to the Sun, people cook pongal with fresh vegetables.
