This is the best video!! I just opened a Silhouette Portrait machine I bought about 5 years ago! And bought the CS dollar store vinyl yesterday- it was on sale for 50 cents. Thank you for making the whole process look easy!
I think I initially watched this review in November 2023. You inspired me to try the Crafter's Square foil iron-on, and it turned out great! Several other reviewers seemed to be determined to make Dollar Tree vinyl and iron-on NOT work, like it would invalidate them if it did work. I'm glad that you tried it and were successful! I'm watching again because I want to use the glitter iron-on in the next couple of weeks, and I'm trying to get inspired again. Thanks.
Hi Vania, I’m glad you enjoyed this video enough to watch it more than once and I’m glad you had success with the Dollar Tree vinyl. Let me know if you have any questions as you’re getting re-inspired to use your machine.
The project really came out well. I didn't think that it was going to look good because of all the glitter from the weeding process Amazing!!! for the price.
❤❤❤Your video! So easy to to follow and your voice is very calming to my ear. New subscriber. @@OGimouse1 the dollar tree vinyl holds up great after washing but I will strongly suggest that you turn the shirt inside-out before washing it and **DO NOT put the item in the dryer after washing!!** I just hang my shirts up to air dry after they're done washing and I have no problems with the iron on designs peeling up or cracking up either😘 Hope this helps😘

Wow!!! I just started cutting vinyl and started with DT and seriously impressed with their regular and glitter vinyl, it's a bit thin and fiddly and you can't use small details but other than that it kiss cut very well. I have yet to see the HTV in any local stores. I'm excited to try that too.
Hi Joy, I used the Glitter Iron-On setting and changed the pressure to "less" because my Cricut Maker 3 can cut deep sometimes. I did not have to cut my iron-on twice.
Hello, It sounds like your Dollar Tree has a great variety of HTV, which is pretty cool. Mine typically only has solid colors; nothing holographic or metallic.
Thanks for the video...was curious about their vinyl . May I ask the images you were showing you did the tests on (the lil girl)what vinyl was used for the middle one ?? Really good print:)
Hi Shannon, The vinyl I used for the little girl on my test shirt was StarCraft Inkjet Printable Heat Transfer for Dark Materials. There are other brands of inkjet printable transfer paper, but I prefer the StarCraft brand. I get mine from this store that's located about 30 minutes from where I live: mycraftsource.com/inkjet-printable-transfers/
I found on another channel to do it on more pressure iron on vinyl and it worked for me. BUT make sure you're cutting it vinyl-side up. I messed that up the first time
Instructions say to wait 24 hours after applying. Turn the clothing inside out, hand wash with cold water and do not tumble dry. I wouldn't recommend for clothing. I'm using so on disposable napkins. But it'd be great for bags, disposable napkins, and stuff that doesn't need to be washed at all or often.
Hi Bryan, You may need to create and test a custom material. I created a custom material and named it Dollar Tree vinyl and I set the pressure for 70. Yes that is my biggest concern 🙏🏻😮
Any updates? I'm using these to make my DT crew t-shirts instead of spending $30 on the DT merchandise site 😂

How do I determine the cost per square inch?
@normarangel2879 Not sure but it's 1.25 for 12"x12"

Thanks for sharing Denise. I hope to find some foil HTV also. I hope you like it.

What cut setting did you use for pink glitter iron-on.

Thx for your video. Just saw the neon green htv at dollar tree yesterday and was curious how it worked. Trying to find the glitter and neon pink now!
Hi Renee,
I hope you can find all the vinyl you need. Sometimes I have to go to a few different Dollar Tree stores to find what I need.
Thats looks really good for the price..now i have to go see if any of our dollar tree stores have it.. Thank you 😊
Thank you Theresa! I hope you can find some at your Dollar Tree stores.
Thanks for this amazing tutorial, I'm about to test it. I'll let you know how it goes :)
Thank you, Adriana. I hope that the Dollar Tree iron-on worked well for you.
Im wondering if you roll a lint roller all the glitter comes of? And how it did after washing?
Oh My God,😇 thank you so much. This was the biggest help if me.

wow beautiful! thank you 😊
how do you think it'll work with a heat press ? 330 temp too?
Hello,
I haven’t tested this HTV with my heat press. I would do a small test first before trying a larger design.
What cut setting did you use? Did you have to cut twice?
Hi Joy,
I used the Glitter Iron-On setting and changed the pressure to "less" because my Cricut Maker 3 can cut deep sometimes. I did not have to cut my iron-on twice.
thx queen truly a life saver 🙏
the DT I work at has new rainbow holographic vinyl, gold mirror like metallic and a few other new ones. I wonder if yours has it yet?
Hello,
It sounds like your Dollar Tree has a great variety of HTV, which is pretty cool. Mine typically only has solid colors; nothing holographic or metallic.
Use the same rose, gold, glitter htv and had success, but forgot without the middle part of the letter E laugh out loud. It is stuck to the shirt.
Thanks for sharing, how does it hold up in the wash?
Hi Kisha,
The vinyl has held up good in the washer. I always wash the garments inside out to make the vinyl last longer.
@@InsideOutlined Thanks for your reply! GOD Bless:)

I’ve tried on 2 different occasions and my circuit won’t cut their HTV… I don’t know why. Yours looks so good!
I have an Explore Air II. I had trouble cutting it until I switched over to a lighter cut setting. I cut it as paper.
Hello,
Thanks for responding to @TheFrugalSuperStarShow I hope she was able to try your method and resolve her issue.

I used some recently and it has a sticky feel, what can I do to fix that?
Hi Heather,
Does the iron-vinyl feel sticky after pressing it onto your base material?
Ok gud video but I’m sitting here stuck on how u put the design on that mat thing?🤷🏾♀️🤔🤔
Good video
Thank you.
Thank you so much!!!!
Thank you!!
i havent seen this one i only saw the regular vinyl, interesting
Hi Olivia,
There wasn't a lot of the iron-on vinyl at my Dollar Tree. I had to intensively look for it.
awww my grand baby name is Skylar she just turned 3
Hi Evesta,
I love the name Skylar. 😊
Have not seen the iron-on in any of ky $trees yet.
Hi Beverly,
Hopefully, they will get the iron-on in your Dollar Tree stores soon!
I just found it this past week at mine and it was mixed in with regular, had to go hunting for it
@@vampirelady70 I'm glad that you were able to find the HTV at your Dollar Tree.
Has anyone tested the quality of it after washing or if it has any instructions on how to wash it???

Very nice work!
Thank you, CJ!
I liked their iron on but not their paper vinyl!!
Hi Heather!
Their iron-on is pretty good. I was a little concerned at first with the weeding process, but after I applied it to my shirt, I was sold!
The regular vinyl from dollar tree is thin and my machine catches on it.
Hi Kelly,
I’ve had that issue too, I sometimes use the washi tape setting to cut the Dollar Tree vinyl.
❤️❤️
my iron on vinyl does not cut very well so i cant weed it. what should i do

This did not stick at all for me this morning
Hi Casie,
I’m sorry this didn’t work for you. Did you get more than one type of iron on or heat transfer vinyl?
Hopefully that was just a bad batch.
At my dollar tree it don't work well at all
I'm sorry to hear that. I had to create a new material setting for my Dollar Tree vinyl, maybe that would work for you also.
The glitter will not transfer!!😖after pressing over and over with a cold peel! I used the gold glitter.
