Asus, I have to say I’m disappointed after seeing dozens of videos having to explain this fix this simple malfunction that any other equipment company would have been able to prevent.
Hi ZD,
Thank you for your feedback and suggestion.

I have had multiple Asus ProArt monitors go bad after the mains power went out and came back on. No amount of cycling/trouble shooting made them work again. Very said. I really loved the ProArt monitors, but I have had three of them go bad so far.
Hi, according to your problem, may I ask what troubleshooting steps you've done?
Have you make sure that all cable is well connected?
Whether the no display problem occur on three different ProArt model you have?
Please note that ASUS LCD monitor can support power specification: AC 100-240V
If you bought a monitor from another region, the power cord is not necessarily compatible to power outlet.
You should replace the appropriate power cord or plug adapter in order to ensure normal power supply of the display.
Could you provide your product model and OS version? Thank you.

Thank you, one of the solutions worked for me :)
Using a ROG PG348Q with a GTX 1080 TI, have been using the monitor for a few years now with the provisioned DP cable with the box, and starting at least a few weeks back the monitor seems to 'crash' where I am playing a game or else and it turns into the "DisplayPort not connected" message even though it is. It seems when this occurs the fans in my computer become very loud as if one of the components are overheating which is confusing considering my computer was fine in this state before for a long time. I have attempted numerous troubleshooting options and procedures including changing the DP cable, changing settings such as power saver, and and further. Based on this it would seem the issue is more so with the components within the computer as it would appear to overheat, or the power supply is in some form abnormal. Thank you for this opportunity to receive some feedback.
Hi, George Adams.
May I ask if you added external hardware, installed or updated software(could you please provide the name and the version) or made any changes before this happened?
PG279QM - The HDMI ports don't work properly with any of these tips, or with the included / or with multiple alternate high end, high speed HDMI cables. The HDMI ports on a brand new PG279QM simply don't work properly (9 times out of ten, no signal) - limited to the one, single Display Port for using the product.
Hi, Bethesda Terrace. Sorry for the slow reply.
May I inquire whether all three HDMI ports on the PG279QM are inoperable? Have you checked to the correct input port?
If possible, please cross-test the monitor with multiple devices and verify at least one device shows a signal.

ROG Strix XG27UG. Power LED is Solid Red for a short period of time before going back to off.
Hi blancjoker,
May I ask if you followed the instructions in the video? Does the power indicator fleeting, and does the screen have no display from beginning to end?
Please replace other identical signal cables (VGA/DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort) to take a cross-test, confirm that the voltage is normal, or replace other stable power sockets as well.

@@asus_support Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. During startup the power indicator flashes white during initial startup but then either turns off or goes solid red. Nothing comes up on the display. I've tested all cables on a known working monitor. (Not sure if it requiring less power may affect the results) I've also tried the weaker monitor power cable on the ROG Strix as well and got the same results. The other monitor that I tested all cables on and tried using its power cable to test the Strix is an Asus VG279Q1A.
Note: I'm not 100% sure where my voltmeter is at and currently don't have the time to go looking for it. That may take upto a week to get that info.

Wouldn't boot to bios, monitor woke but froze with tiny white line in the middle or the screen on a solid black background, tried everything possible. Turned out to be a faulty USB device or port. Not sure which. Just removed all the USB fobs that were plugged in and bingo, It now boots to bios. Now I have to work out if it's a USB port or hardware that's plugged into one. But it's booting and that is the main thing. Hope that helps somebody.

Hi, according to your question, based on the symptoms you've described, it's possible that there's a hardware issue with the monitor's display or internal components. Since you've already tried different devices and cables, it's unlikely that the issue is caused by an external factor. I recommend contacting our technical support team or the retailer where you purchased the monitor for further assistance.

VG278QR, power indicator LED is on white but screen doesn't display anything. I have tried swapping the DP cable, turning it off then unplugging it then holding the power button for about a minute then plugging it back in then turning it back on, the monitor still doesn't display anything. My PC detects the monitor and shifts the whole arrangement whenever I turn it off and/or unplug the monitor.
I suggest connecting the screen to another computer for testing. If it doesn't work on another computer as well, it may indicate a faulty screen. In that case, I recommend taking the device to a repair center for further assessment.

I dont know if its a defect or not. I have the same screen its a Asus VG248QG 24 I'm on display-port and i tryed other ports and cables on my vcard and same thing. The problem is when my computer go's to sleep or just turn off then on the Monitor and when it turns back on its seams my screen completely disconnect and my computer thinks its not a screen for a sec and make my other Monitor the main and move all windows to it, and then second letter it recognize the screen again and makes it main Monitor but every window is on other screen because of the 1 sec disconnect. i dont know what to do I tried everything in this vid but its a weird problem. the problem doesn't happen on DVI but i wont get 165hz with dvi or DHMI. so is there anything i can do or is this a defect.
Hi ShadowDrift
It is normal when using DisplayPort. When the Windows system is connected to multiple monitors, if the monitor connected with the Displayport goes into sleep mode, the system will recognize the screen as a disconnected and will reconnect when it wakes up.
Therefore, the screen is refreshed during sleep and wake-up, causing the opened apps to move. If the connection is made via HDMI, the Windows system will still recognize the screen when the screen goes into sleep mode, and the screen will not be refreshed and apps will not move.

@@asus_support Hi, It's Dec. 8, 2021. I just connected my 27" Pro Art 4K monitor to my 4K CCTV DVR. It won't display using the original VGA to HDMI adapter output connector, so I had to use a 3 ft HDMI to HDMI connector cable instead. Now I cannot use my 65" 4K SONY TV to view the CCTV, thru my 4K Pioneer receiver like before. I just realized the VGA output may not output 4K signals, so I had to use the HDMI output instead. The ProArt won't accept signals from any cable longer than 3 ft! I'm going to compromise for now and monkey with it another time. I'm slightly disappointed after reading the ASUS poopaganda BEFORE I bought it. It also sits very high on the stand, but it looks like that MAY be adjustable?
VH238 Monitor here, all it does is blink blue when fully connected to my laptop. The laptop recognizes it as a 2nd display in the Display settings, but pressing Detect will not detect it. The sound speakers are also detectable in Volume Mixer but no sound goes through. Tried every single option: plugging/unplugging, restarting/boot from shut-down, updated AMD drivers, replaced the HDMI cable, it just sits there blinking and refusing to display anything. I fiddled around with something and got it to randomly work again, but once you disconnect it or turn off the laptop the same problem returns. Switching from Duplicate to Extend sometimes screws me over as it will default the main monitor to the VH238, now I can't see anything without blindly dragging my mouse over the "2nd monitor" to try and grab the Display settings window so I can either keep changes, or revert the main monitor back to my laptop so I can see what the hell I'm doing.
What exactly is supposed to be the solution here when every other "tech" website is using the same copypasta troubleshooting tips?
Hi, may I ask did you make sure if the operating system had entered hibernation, sleep or power-save mode?
Or check if the signal cable is well connected?
Are you using the original cable to connect to the monitor? Does the power supply meet the requirements of this model?

Make sure you fokkow the steps in the following link. Thank you.
www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1012723
Whehter your product model is VH238 or VH238T?
@@asus_support The laptop is not in hibernation, sleep, or power save mode. Can confirm this via the laptop's screen.
All original cables are fully connected, and there is definitely sufficient power going through to the monitor, and there are no other external power sources (like USB) available on any of the monitor's ports in the first place. Have tried plugging the monitor directly into the wall socket as opposed to it being plugged into a surge protector power strip, and this does not seem to be a factor.
The monitor displays the same results no matter which PC or laptop it is plugged into: a blinking blue light (of which the user manual indicates nothing about this, only solid blue or solid amber light) and no display showing.
Microsoft chat support also helped live-troubleshoot and indicated on their end they can see a second screen that I cannot, indicating the monitor is being recognized both in display and audio. All drivers are up to date, all Windows updates are up to date. They concluded that it is an external issue not related to interfacing, that the black screen is exclusive to the monitor itself, not being caused by anything it is plugged into.
I have seen that support FAQ page before posting my comment, and it did not help. The model is a VH238.
@@DEADication86 Hi, may I ask whether your monitor model is VH238H, VH238T, VH238N-A or VH238N-C?
Also, could you provide your laptop product model? When you connect to other PC your monitor still blink blue light?
When turning on your monitor whether screen is black but power supply lights is ON?
@@asus_support It's a VH238H, attempting to connect to a GPD Win Max 2 as well as 3 other PCs with the same effect; blinking blue light and no display with power definitely being circled through fully in both set-ups. Since waiting for my new monitor to arrive, I left it in a plugged in power state (but not plugged into a PC) for a few days and it finally decided to turn amber yellow. Of course, upon disconnecting and reconnecting the power cable to see if it had returned to a working state, it immediately went back into a blinking blue light state. It was an amusing case of, "Too late, old monitor. Too fscking late." thought; on the day the new monitor arrived it finally decided it wanted to appear as if it were working again.
