Being a truck driver, the switch is amazing. Portability is my strongest point when buying stuff to keep me occupied while I get loaded, unloaded, waiting at a shop or for a load, and just plain ol fun time when I need to step out of the captains chair.
Snarky Mark yeah, them ladies, am I right fellas?! It’s like what do I wear? I’m like “I don’t care, just get out of my side of the house!” Lol I hate my wife too
Oh man, I love my switch, basically for every single reason you mentioned! I've got back problems, so sometimes it's hard to sit in front of a TV for an extended period of time. The switch is PERFECT for me, because I don't have to interrupt my gameplay just because I need to lay down and rest my back! Awesome video! (Mullet Boy at 2:21, btw! ; ] )
I’m getting the Switch Lite!! It’s perfect for busy adults. I simply don’t have time for traditional home consoles. I need something I can take with me on the go.
I bought a switch and 90% of the games that I play are snes and nes titles. I love the massive library of games on the online services and having save states is a lifesaver. Great video
We got a switch for Christmas 2019 for our daughter. We tag teamed BOTW and we really made some great memories together. That is such a great game and I can’t wait to play age of calamity together now. We also bought a switch lite so I can play stuff on my own. It’s an excellent console
If you bought one of the original Switches and you ever feel like Nintendo BURNED you on online offerings, you can open that thing up to homebrew and start playing quite the library of retro games that have been ported and emulated on the Switch by the homebrew community. Now, I personally want to still be able to play Splatoon 2 and Smash Ultimate, so my Switch remains unmodded.
Totally agree with you on this console. I got mine last year and my son got his for Christmas. We love the retro games on the console and those games of the retro heritage. I beat Zelda along time ago and my son is been playing ever since. The console is a great family system and now that I have more responsibilities, I love the portable aspects of the device.
Awesome man! I have contemplated getting a second one too lol. Probably gonna wait and see what new versions of the Switch that Nintendo is supposed to release.
You are absolutely right my friend about having little time these days, but trust me I find time to play with my kids on the weekend a few games, and they will remember it! I do also when my old man and i use to tell me to set it up back in the day! He use to call the NES the "Computer" he has since passed, but I will always remember the times we had playing games and the fun we had! Don't have a Switch but after hearing your reasons and the countless retro titles it offers along with other retro style games I definitely have to check it out soon! Great video as always👍
Great stuff man. Sorry about your Dad. Seriously the Switch will make some great memories for you and your kids. We truly have had real bonding moments with it.
100% agree mate. I've has the Switch since launch too and got a lot of mileage out of it. Now my partner loves it as well she she's played through and 100% finished Breath of the Wild and is slowly working through other games on the system, we play Overcooked 2 together on it and it's perfect when we travel home together that we can take it with us.
Lol thanks man. I was sad because I forgot to put in a scene we forgot to film. I was gonna talk about how we have fought over playing the switch and I wanted to get a second one. I was gonna film me busting open up a piggy bank with "Blake and Emma's College Fund" written on it and use the money to buy it since they weren't letting me play. I'm upset I forgot 😂😂😂
I'm super glad to hear you have found something from your past that reunites & invigorates your sentiment to share with your children. Congratulations with your family. Just don't ever forget what made things what. "Metroid". "Legend of Zelda". "Ghouls & Ghosts/Ghosts n' Goblins". "Castlevania". Please don't forget to share the chart starters...
That’s why I love this channel. All I wanted as a kid was to have my dad sit down and play the nes with me. I think it will mean more to your kids than you know.
I have been addicted to the NES Classic games on Nintendo Switch Online. I do like the save feature, because on Mike Tyson’s Punch Out, I’m on Super Macho Man.
Thanks brother I stumbled on your channel and it's amazing! I've been a gamer all my life and I've been on the fence for some time now about getting a switch but with all the Adulting it's just not enough hours in the day to hop on one of my consoles lol...now I'm sold and I'm going to get one today!!!!
Yeah, I’m the same age as you and once games became 3D in the mid 90s I completely lost interest, but this sounds like the perfect mix of both. I liked the wiiu cuz it had some good modern games with the old characters, but being able to actually play the old games and have the option to get all the indie games and dabble in modern games is pretty sweet. Might look into a switch.
No proper Virtual Console, but the Switch has NES Online, Arcade Archives, NeoGeo games, Genesis Collection, Megaman and Megaman X collections, Capcom Beat em ups Bundle, Street Fighter Collection, Konami Arcade Collection, Castlevania Collection, and soon Contra Collection.
Another great video Tyler. I wanted to buy a switch for two reasons. Zelda and Skyrim. This video is the first time I seen cuphead in action. I heard of it, but never seen it and its a game I can get into. I want a switch by summer lol. Keep gaming Tyler!
The Switch is da bomb, Nintendo rules, the NES Classic and SNES Classic titles available from Nintendo online are pretty awesome, obviously there are some great titles missing but hopefully we’ll get access to some of those games eventually.
Can’t wait to download cuphead. Tried showing it to my 9yr old and she didn’t want anything to do with it. Shovel knight is an instant classic in my book. But the switch has to be my all time favorite Nintendo system, next to the NES of course.
My bro said “blasphemy” lol bro I’m wit you. My little dude can no scope in Call of Duty like it ain’t shit. But can’t make it to the second stage of Ninja Gaiden. Shit he couldn’t reach the second stage of Contra either lol Yet the designs of games nowadays truly is breathtaking. I’ll admit man, I don’t like the idea that gaming is moving away from what I like, but I do love seeing that same sparkle I once had in my kids eyes when something awesome happens
Tyler my dude ,think you convinced me to get a switch lol. Really cool video, I have retro pi but would still love be to try all those classic inspired games. I have Shovel Knight on PS4 and it's one of my favorites in my collection.
I've been on the fence about the switch for awhile, but between Zelda Breath of the Wild and the NES library available on the switch I might just pull the trigger and pick one up soon.
I have a Wii and I used to love getting games off the Wii shop before they closed it down. To me the switch doesn't really compare because they don't have as many retro games as they did for the wii. Also with Wii shop you could buy games from the snes n64 genesis as well as other classic consoles where as with the switch your limited to their nes selection. In case you can't tell I really miss the Wii shop and can't understand why they didn't include as many retro games and systems as part of a service your already paying every month for anyway.
Having the Sega Genesis Collection on the go is great, I just wish the Ecco games were on there, apparently Ecco's creator had like a falling out with Sega recently.
My requirement would be I'd need two, reason no shared screen co-op gaming. I'd test Diablo III and see whether or not the same glitches, that that plague previous versions cross platforms, are this port of the game as well.
GREAT Video, couldn't agree more. Try out - Hyper Light Drifter - the creator is a huge Link to the Past fan and this game is a great complement to that old school genre and style. It's my favorite Switch game. Enter the Gungeon is great too, and be sure to check out Golf Story. Those 3 are must plays in my opinion. I'm also in my 30's, with a full time job that miss the golden era of gaming and trying to beat Mike Tyson when I was a little kid. The Switch is amazing. It'd be amazing to watch a video by you playing one of these 3 games, but yeah they're a ton more great switch games I didn't mention. Have a good day, dude.
YES! I play the switch more than my PS4 and XBOX one. Heck I play my original NES Carts more than I do all of them lol (Although playing on a RetroUSB AVS so I can play them lag free on LCD tv)
I wish I could play the retro games on the switch but for me who has to run on a tight budget the games are to expensive edit like the e shop that's how I mostly play the retro games if it is purchible
I bought a switch to play the new Zelda game but the 3D nature of the game (like most newer games) gives me migraines so I quit playing. But I might have to try some of the retro games since the poor thing is just gathering dust at the moment.
Man...i also believed Cuphead was meant for the Switch since day one. Yeah, my Switch is just loaded with classics and i hope Arcade Archives continues to release arcade classics for a long time. Do you know how long I've been waiting for the arcade version of Donkey Kong 3 to be released? 😅 Anyways, I'm also proud to own a Switch and it goes with me everywhere. Great video, bro! 👊
We need to make a petition to get Stanley as an Amiibo. 👍 Plus...they just released Ninja Gaiden arcade last night and yup, had to pick it up! I know...nothing beats the NES, but I love the arcade a little bit better...just me.
Tyler from Triple G saying that the Switch is great for Retro Gamers??? GOOD ENOUGH REASON FOR ME TO GO GET ONE NOW LOL!!!... BUt...as im typing this, i get to reason #1, PICK UP AND GO steez....boom, now that for really real is enough for me...i dont game as much as i used to, but back in the 90s when i was in my pre-teens/teenage years, i played non stop, and part of the reason i stopped playing games was how difficult the actual play became, or the DL'ing, the loading, waiting, etc... (that and i discovered drinking, OTHER contraband, and chicks lol...that kinda took up my time then)...so anything that has that ol' pick up and go feel to it, like CONTRA and it's perfect embodiment of PICK UP AND GO, AND is retro, like the NES and SNES especially, in it's heyday, im in....if i can still find the time to play, that is... Only one issue though, and im sure this is an issue at least INITIALLY for some of us, especially those of us who are bigger, and/or just really adamant about playing retro games; ive seen a switch in person though, my stepdaughter's boyfriend has it and brought it over a couple of times, and i just can't seem to get the hang of the controls though, and they are very small..
@@GenerationGapGaming well, same era pretty much, easier to get a couple of cool dudes like us into the same thing, and always remember it, or compare it to other things... or of course, have something like a Contra be THE BAR set for other shit
Anyone know if the NES title Bad News Baseball is available on the Switch?? That was one of my favorite NES games back in the late 80s/early 90s and imo maybe the best baseball game released on the NES as far as gameplay and graphics etc. I've been on the fence about purchasing a BNB cartridge for my NES as they're difficult to find and when I do find one that appears to be in decent shape, its usually fairly expensive. If BNB is available on the Switch I'm definitely on board.
@@GenerationGapGaming Cool. Thanks Tyler! Keep the great videos coming....it's up to us to pass on the love for classic games to the younger generation! If anyone sees a copy of BNB in good shape at a decent price, or if anyone has a working cart for sale, feel free to message me and I will definitely buy. Thanks!
I’ll join that “old man rant” with you any time about participation trophy’s. It’s called COMMON SENSE. It’s given us this useless society we have now in fact! See...you got me going, your fault brother! ;) I love this quick bite and it’s so true. I’m right there with you on CupHead. I almost bought an Xbox just to play Cup Head at one point!!
Absolutely! My son and I have both already beat it on the switch with Cuphead and Mugman in singles. Yesterday we started playthrough in co-op mode lol. We can't get enough of it.
@@GenerationGapGaming my son played tee ball when he was about 5...I love my son more than anything in the world...but he and his team SUCKED and they all got participation trophies. :vomit: That thing is in a box in the garage somewhere. Now just to be clear, I'm not an athletetic person and there isn't a single coaching bone in my body. I'm sure if I worked with him, he may have been fine at tee ball. But he wasn't really into it and neither was I. The boy can whoop people much older than him (he's 11 now) at video games though. I'd give him a trophy for that!
AWESOME! I hadn't bought a console since the Gamecube. Modern games are too much. Too many buttons, and getting my ass kicked by teenagers sucks. There're too damn good. There's too many shooter games. Breath of the Wild was a masterpiece. Great video, and I couldn't agree with you more. See ya.
It's tough. Both are the only open world Zelda game. I honestly can't tell you my favourite. Each one is unique. When are you going to Goldeneye your kids?
I like the modern gaming and I like old school gaming I don't feel like you left me behind because I like them both a Nintendo switch needs more variety then Nintendo games I would like to see Sega super Nintendo game stuff like that too right now the switches online it's just to OneNote if I could see some super Nintendo Sega games on there that's all I need I'm all in
There are some Sega games on there actually Nate. As far as super Nintendo there aren't any yet, but I would be shocked if they wouldn't add them eventually.
Josh it really is. The most logical platform for it to be on honestly. The kids and I have already beaten it twice and now playing though on Co-Op mode. My son Blake is almost better than me at it now.
It's just regular Nintendo games I like regular Nintendo games I do but we need some different mixtures of stuffI'll be happy with your signal super Nintendo games you give me that I'm happy with the Nintendo games
There are so many great games on the Switch, from shooters to platformers to beautiful RPGs, the Switch has a huge selection for everyone. That’s why I love the Switch.
Love your channel. I just started my own, WARTRAIN WINS check it out if you have time. I love the Switch, it works just like you said, being that were older with kids, it's hard to find time to game. So I take my Switch to work. I Love it.
I saw that you said mullet boy at 2:20 and you are right. RUclips for whatever reason sometimes thinks mullet boy related comments are spam and deletes them. You got it first and shout-out next video!
I bought Blaster Master Zero the weekend before my wife went on a trip to visit her family for a week. I missed her while she was gone, but playing that game made part of me feel like I was 10 years old again. While Nintendo may not always have the "best hardware", they've always been right on the pulse of what video games are really about: Fun & relaxation.
Fun and relaxation. You nailed it. They have said they don't worry about having the most advanced technology or realistic graphics, but focus on the game play and I believe it shows.
Being a truck driver, the switch is amazing. Portability is my strongest point when buying stuff to keep me occupied while I get loaded, unloaded, waiting at a shop or for a load, and just plain ol fun time when I need to step out of the captains chair.

Only one issue though, and im sure this is an issue at least INITIALLY for some of us, especially those of us who are bigger, and/or just really adamant about playing retro games; ive seen a switch in person though, my stepdaughter's boyfriend has it and brought it over a couple of times, and i just can't seem to get the hang of the controls though, and they are very small..
lol, you referenced CONTRA specifically in your 3rd reason, around the 2:20 mark...
We think alike my dude 👊
I don't believe Bad News is on there at the moment. If anyone knows feel free to chime in. Thanks for commenting Denny.
Thanks!
Especially if you hack it.
B-)
but you can't use cheat codes
I’ll join that “old man rant” with you any time about participation trophy’s. It’s called COMMON SENSE. It’s given us this useless society we have now in fact! See...you got me going, your fault brother! ;) I love this quick bite and it’s so true. I’m right there with you on CupHead. I almost bought an Xbox just to play Cup Head at one point!!
Yeah Reagan I don't get the trophies either. Don't expect something special just for showing up lol. Gotta earn it.
Speaking of retro inspired a hole in the world isn't bad at all
Thanks I will have to check it out!
Hey dude where would u suggest to buy used games etc online for playstation 1 and 2.
I don't know a lot about the Switch. My son hass one, but I've never played it. Can you download NES/SNES games for play?
If you purchase the Nintendo Switch online service on the eShop you get access to the NES library. No SNES titles as of yet
To me it's just a little bear boom right now
Cuphead is a perfect game. Best game on Switch.
Absolutely! My son and I have both already beat it on the switch with Cuphead and Mugman in singles. Yesterday we started playthrough in co-op mode lol. We can't get enough of it.
I didn't think you would mention it, but you did.👍
I gotta get a Switch! Love reason #5. That's gonna be my sales pitch to my wife.
Let me hear how the sales pitch goes lol! Thanks man. I've told you that u need to get one.
“Participation trophy society”........hahahahahahahahahahahaaaa.......too funny because it is so true. I can’t stand it.
It drives me crazy Matt lol.
What’s your first Nintendo System of all time?
NES baby!!!!
GenerationGapGaming Hell yea!
Participation trophy kids today truly can not handle the NES games with out save states😉
You are 100% right lol.
Cuphead is incredible
It really is. I can't get enough of it.
AWESOME! I hadn't bought a console since the Gamecube. Modern games are too much. Too many buttons, and getting my ass kicked by teenagers sucks. There're too damn good. There's too many shooter games. Breath of the Wild was a masterpiece. Great video, and I couldn't agree with you more. See ya.
I love BOTW. My 2nd favorite Zelda title behind the original but it's mostly because of the nostalgia of the original because BOTW is beautiful.
Can you make a cuphead live stream?
Cuphead on switch is so good
Josh it really is. The most logical platform for it to be on honestly. The kids and I have already beaten it twice and now playing though on Co-Op mode. My son Blake is almost better than me at it now.
It's just regular Nintendo games I like regular Nintendo games I do but we need some different mixtures of stuffI'll be happy with your signal super Nintendo games you give me that I'm happy with the Nintendo games
lol putting the kids to bed
#6 MOD IT!
Im a kid tho.
WOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I can just use an emulator on my PC and Nvidia shield has me covered on the go.
That's cool man!
Not the raspberry pi something way better than that
Everdrive? I'm not sure lol
@@GenerationGapGaming okay bro I'm a look on RUclips I forget what it's called Lol but if I find it I'll let you know
There are so many great games on the Switch, from shooters to platformers to beautiful RPGs, the Switch has a huge selection for everyone. That’s why I love the Switch.
Love your channel. I just started my own, WARTRAIN WINS check it out if you have time. I love the Switch, it works just like you said, being that were older with kids, it's hard to find time to game. So I take my Switch to work. I Love it.
thanks man!
First
I saw that you said mullet boy at 2:20 and you are right. RUclips for whatever reason sometimes thinks mullet boy related comments are spam and deletes them. You got it first and shout-out next video!
@@GenerationGapGaming haha, dang. I thought I finally spotted him first lol.
@@GenerationGapGaming I was wondering why it kept disappearing, next time I will post a longer comment such as Mullet boy on the B button etc.
Retropie is a great solution too.
BotW alone is worth the cost of the Switch!
