@@RangerHaz best investment I ever made, really fantastic game that gets better with time and one I have never reached the end of despite creating a character on day one.

Just started playing for the first time this month and i'm very impressed about how the game lore works and the maps. Funny story: i'm a diehard Tolkien fan and addicted to MMORPG games since i was 9, and have never tried LOTRO before. I wish i've had gave a chance sooner, but i'm having a great time by now!
Started playing on the Angmar Legendary server (for the first time) a week or so ago. After getting past the initial janky feel of the UI I am 110% hooked. The world is expansive and immersive, many times I have found myself taking a moment to enjoy the scenery which is something I did not expect in a technically and graphically dated game. Community has been amazing, and with the new Legendary server I am avoiding that "will never catch up" feeling....which is key for me as I want to explore and see it all. With a bit of nostalgia flowing and a whole new world in a setting I love...I haven't enjoyed a game like this/in this way since original Everquest or WoW.
I feel the same, the Graphics themselves are outdated, but the Art-direction of Lotro is so good and detailed that I also find myself enjoying my time looking around a lot more...and it's incredibly charming.
I'm really enjoying the experience as a new player who missed out on playing a lot of the MMOs that came out in the early 2000's due to not being able to afford subscription games at the time. It feels really cool to get to experience the game as other players back then would have!
Just started last week on a normal server. It's super chill and immersive (though the store is a bit too ubiquitous IMO), and very respectful to the source material. I'll probably go VIP for the next Legendary server launch.
Just made a legacy server character and loving it. The world actually has other players you constantly cross paths with making it feel more alive. Making a new character in other MMO's is so depressing when you realize 95% of the time its just you in every low to mid and even some high zones.
Gollum! Downloading the game right now. Tried it like one time like over 10 years ago, but it didn't quite capture me, but going to try it again because of your video :).
@@RangerHaz I'm 29 now, but tried the game when I was a kid. Young me didn't have the patience for tab-targeted combat, I preferred action combat, or at least something more responsive and engaging (to me). Now that I'm older, I can really appreciate a well crafted world and have the patience and interest to discover the intricacies of a tab-target system (played runescape A LOT in my early 20's :p). I love the Lord of the Rings movies, and although the extensive lore behind it can be quite overwhelming, your video gave me the idea to give it a deep dive, together with playing this game :).
I loved everything about this video. It was fantastic from start to finish. I've been playing LOTR since I was born. Honestly, I must say that it,s better than any other game i've ever experienced with all of my friends and chrildens :) It’s been a magical journey through Middle-earth, filled with unforgettable quests and amazing friends. Can’t imagine my life without it-every moment in this game feels like home! 🏰💚
I was supposed to start playing this in 2020 but I just thought it was too old. I still think thats true like 17 years is soooo far away from being an OG.
Havent played for lotro almost a decade, thinking on returning back, found out my once was max lv 95 got deleted by server wipe. Not sure if to come back, and if so will the leveling experience up to lv 95 will be any different than it once was
Hmm, It depends - I know some MAC has a software called Crossover that lets you simulate Windows on it and play these games - it isn't hard to use. Different game but the guide is the same: www.returnofreckoning.com/forum/install-mac
You mean I will be able to finally read the settings in the UI on my 2k monitor? That pissed me so much I just left the game unable to enjoy it because I couldnt read shit except the quest and chat since you can enlarge those. Well, thats great news at least to me 🙂
You need to be a Lord of the Rings fan imho, as an MMO it is a janky mess with terrible UI/sub par combat and too much grind/ fetch quests masquerading as 'content'. There is a decent amount available for F2P players mind you. One for the fans.....
I actually have been experimenting with controller settings for my video footage - it's quite possible to set up and play if you are determined enough I think. At least combat / travelling / questing part is 100% doable.
Been playing exclusively on steam deck. Around 30 hours in now. I’ve got a really good setup, and I’m pretty happy. Sometimes slightly clanky, but nothing deal breaker
I’m a founder of the game, with a lifetime subscription. I’ve never played anything better
Super jelly of you lifetime subscribers!!

Do you suggest legendary servers for newcoming players or classic servers ?
@@RangerHaz the new servers are not worth it only the first expansion

@@DTSbeats I see! With that mindset, you should be set for a grand journey. Older mmo combat systems can be very chill aswell if one appreciates it.
Gollum! I play LOTRO for like a year or two, only as a free to play player, but I still enjoy it very much😊

It's a really fun game to experience and it's full of respectful Tolkien Lore and atmosphere, with so many great people to meet.
Gollum! Thank you for the review, downloading the game now to give it a shot. Wish me luck on my first outing into Middle-Earth!
Awesome! Hope you will enjoy it and don't hesitate to ask questions here or google them if anything feels daunting!

Ive played LOTRO 3 times over the past 15 years. Loved it every time, but always lose interest in the 20-30 level range :/
Is there any particular reason you lose interest? Maybe it's better now or someone can give advice here!

Gollum!
This game seems to be incredible but I heard that the EU servers are located outside Europe. 😢 I can’t stand slow and laggy servers.
The first EU Server is now physically in EU, called Mordor!
ask the people who got their life time subscription cancelled with out notice. #FthisGame
gollum!

GOLLUM
Too bad the launcher and client don’t work and the game won’t start ever no matter what I do, hrs and hrs of troubleshooting is ridiculous
gollum!
