Hey guys just to add: I forgot to mention that the A.I does require a tweak. They are very slow on the straights and can be easily passed just by accelerating. The A.I can put up some very fierce competition depending on the track. Final mention is as much as I would have wanted more bikes and the smaller classes, I reviewed the game from what was advertised and Milestone only advertised that SBK class would be available. Nonetheless I still recommed! Thanks for watching!
Nice review! About the AI top speed problem, it has been there for years, so I have 0 hope about it😅But I sent them an email in their website about the realistic fuel and tyre wear option missing, I hope they reply something about it (they did in the past with other games, so at least they read them 😆)
Good solid well balanced review, Dr A. I'm enjoying the game, yes it was a but rushed to get this out and there are things to fix like some kerbs and the buggy career mode but this will come sooner rather than later. I'm happy for it to be similar to MGP22 but different enough to have its own feel. I struggled with the feel of the "new' MotoGP 22 but this felt more intuitive. Thanks again.
In the past the SBK series had supersport and superstock class in the game. It's something I really miss now. And in my opinion the Superbikes are different from the Moto gp bikes in handling and react a bit more nervous with steering. Brakes responding is totally different, you need really to pudh hard with front and rear to slow down the bike.
Yeah the brakes are much different, I think the biggest change is due to the brakes being steel rather than carbon brakes. Quite nice when you get the hang of the brakes though 🔥
Got the game recently.. For me braking doesn't seem to be an issue(disabled all braking assists and using biggest brake) But a thing I like about the game which is not talked about is... Lap by lap the bike turns better and braking also gets later.. Because of less fuel in the bike and this it becomes lighter... I never felt this in the previous games at all
Thanks for a well balanced review Dr A. I am a bike nut, who can no longer ride; so bike games are a replacement and have them all. My favourite two are Rise and IoM TT 1 (it would have been 2 if the sidecars were there.)
I've been messing around with camera customisation, you can turn a lot of the faff off, ie dynamic cam on corners, etc. Also FOV/height which I think makes for a better experience than the default camera.
I like how they made it possible to make your own team with sponsors and such. The faces are still ugly though, they should add the option to never take of the helmet and have the visor down constantly haha. I'd consider the game, but there's P5 Royal in a few weeks and it'll probably be like 60-70 bucks and I can't imagine my life without that damn game lol. BTW seems like people will be congratulating you on 5k subs quite soon haha
Haha yeah it’s a nice touch, I much prefer the official teams however. I’m sure picking up SBK 22 on sale is a grand idea in a few weeks or so 🔥 Thanks mate! I look forward to the celebrations ❤️
This seems like motogp21 re-skinned, with SBK's tracks... It van be enough, but I personally, would love to see something new. Like a new Ride game, where actual biking roads are used, with traffic, etc.... From the recent Milestone games I still prefer Ride 4, mostly because it uses Road-legal, "normal" bikes I can relate to. Anyway, this is also okay, just not for me, not now, not for this price.
It does look that way but I assure you there’s more to SBK 22’s handling than just a simple re-skin. RIDE 5 will be coming eventually. I’m sure it’ll be epic 🔥
@@SkinnyBlackoutI like my sims be as close to reality as possible. On the other hand, I prefer road bikes (I can connect to, ride IRL) over competition ones, sport cars (I can try IRL) over race cars, etc. These two things rarely are common though ("hardcore" simulation and non-race vehicles), most sims are about racing machines sadly. Also, "real road" games usually have poor physics in most cases. Anyway, we'll see, until then, I'll use what I can, especially in winter when you cannot ride as much.. ;)
@@miklospetras8252 Yeah, I'm not the biggest fan of the racing vehicles either, lots of aerodynamic bells and whistles that don't really look that good. Always prefer road legal vehicles, be it bikes or cars. I like it when the game makes it possible to either go full stock or create your own racing setup, or just take already existing ones, kinda like Ride 4 or GT series do. Basically, I like to have different options haha
@@DrAce46 Still can’t make my mind up about this game though, sometimes it’s brilliant, sometimes does my head in, spending all my time in the editor until they fix career mod 😂
Great review, I wish they made a Sbk dlc for ride 4 instead of a MotoGP 21 re skin. I’ll pass for this as I’m still disappointed by MotoGP 22 not being optimized on ps5, the game stutters in practice😩 after so many months from the release date…
Thanks mate, to be honest I’m glad they’ve moved on from RIDE 4. The engine is outdated now and I think the bikes feel better in the MotoGP games and now SBK 22. That’s a Damn shame it’s not running well on PS5. I thought about getting them on PS5 but I guess I’ll stick to PC 👍🏻
Seems like it would be better to just buy motogp 21 get more bang for the buck. Also can it be played without being connected to the internet? I think motogp19 was the last that you could.
I wish I had this game. But I'm losing my job shortly and have other financial priorities right now before I can get a current gen console. Hopefully soon.
Honestly mate, this looks more like a demo of something that could be than a full game. They have not been ashamed to release it moderately polished and with more content. They have gone to the race to get money and little else, it is a bad reeskin with hardly any work, since they have not even deigned to correct the problem that they have been dragging for a long time with some curbs. The day they implement the weight of the motorcycles and gravity well, the motorcycles will not fly when stepping on a curb.
It’s not really a re-skin. The bikes feel different and the brakes are a big change. SBK 22 is the only game I’ve found that the setups actually work. I’ve been changing the suspension settings and the feeling is different to standard. I’ve not felt that with any of the other games. I do recommend giving it a try if you haven’t played it yet 👍🏻
The braking is a real issue with this game and god forbid a bike hits an apex, at least without coming to a near stop and oversteering into the curb in hairpins. Far, far too much copy and paste from MotoGP when they could have just tweaked the Ride4 game build.
I think Milestone is moving on from the outdated engine in RIDE 4, as good as it was it’s very arcade like. I think they’re pushing for (in their eyes) a more simulated game. RIDE 5 will probably be out next year so hopefully they get it right 🙏🏻
@DrAce46 you are really balanced don't pay attention on this comment because one or another don't know how to play. The games are very simple, just a little patience and you mastered the controls 😊

Good review, straight to the point. Its good that youve reached out to the devs and they are looking at it,cant wait to play it properly.👍
Yeah, in the MotoGP games, even with the A.I. at 120%, they seem to roll off the throttle at around 180-190mph.
Has this AI problem been fixed where it easily passes her on the straights?

MotoGP clone and it's very buggy and broken, easy enough.
Not really, the bikes feel different and the brakes are unique to SBK 22
