I don’t think this is Tyler’s fault, but he acted more like Jason Voorhees than Michael Myers. That is probably more of Rob Zombie’s direction than Tyler’s acting.
@Jacob Ramirez go watch Friday the 13th Part 3, the way he tore the barn apart searching for Chris. That is literally identical for the way in which Michael tears the old Myers house apart searching for Laurie. Also, the way Michael runs at the end is total Jason Voorhees from The Final Chapter when he runs at Trish right before she puts herself through a window.

F13 4 - Jason darts toward Trish as she puts herself through the window to escape. Zombieween - Michael darts toward Laurie as they both go off the balcony.

Oh GAWD....you've got MY personal worst two among your favorites.....Tyler Mayne and Dick Warlock. There are a few little things about Dick Warlock's performance that I will always love.....but for the most part it was just NOT in line with what Nick Castle and John Carpenter gave us with the original. My biggest complaints about the casting of the guys who have played the character have always been their size and also the way they move. Dick Warlock portrayed the character like a robot....or a zombie. He's WAAAY too stiff and robotic. When Laurie is in the elevator waiting for the doors to close during the chase in the hospital I have always complained about how damn long it takes for those elevator doors to close.......you could literally listen to the entire song "Free Bird" while waiting for those doors to close.......and Michael STILL couldn't get to those doors before they closed!!!!🤣😂 Michael Myers MOVED like a walking corpse in Halloween II 😂🤣 And Dick Warlock's size was wrong too. Usually I complain that these dudes they cast are WAAAAY TOO friggin huge for the role, but in this case it's the opposite. He was too small lol Even the shape of his head is wrong. That's the original mask from the first movie he's wearing, but because of the shape of his head it doesn't fit right or really even look like the original mask.....still love Dick Warlock and Halloween II though. Unfortunately I CAN'T say the same thing for Ole Tyler Mayne and both of Rob Zombie's raging dumpster fires he calls "Halloween movies" 6'8 and 300 pounds is just ridiculously huge for the character.....its almost as if Rob Zombie really didn't understand what it is that frightens fans about the character Michael Myers AT ALL. Size, strength and brutality is not what strikes up fear about the character with fans. Also, the best walk and the sneakiness that he added to the character. 2) Dick Warlock- creepiest Michael Myers, love the long take scene when he was walking on the street to the hospital, favorite kill is when killed the nurse and lift her up with the scalpel 3) James Jude Courtney- balanced Michael Myers, brutal like Mane and Wilbur, creepiest walk like Castle and Warlock. 4) George Wilbur ( Tom Morga/ A Michael Lerner)- Mysterious Michael Myers, brutal and scary concurrently as the character, love his walk especially the hallway scene in curse of Michael myers, favorite kills is the shotgun scene in return of Michael Myers and the surgical machete with the doctors in the curse of Michael myers 5) Donald Shanks- emotional Michael Myers, like his slower pace of his walk in the movie, like the scene where Dr. Sam Loomis fights Michael with the 2X4 6) Chris Durand- Animalistic Michael Myers, love durand portrayal of Myers, like his walk and the homage to the kill of Laurie Boyfriend similar to Halloween 2. 7) Tyler Mane- Brutal/ enormous Michael Myers, very brutal with the kills and his 6’8 appearance was imposing to his victims. I enjoy his performance as Myers but I have mixed feelings for the Rob Zombie’s series. 8) Brad Loree- Halloween: resurrection is the worst movie in the original series, but I enjoy his performance as the character. I thought he was brutal and had a nice walk chasing Laurie in the beginning of the movie. The funniest scene in the movie is Busta Rhymes wearing the Myers costume and yelling at the real the Myers lmao.

My favorite without a doubt is tyler mane, putting how bad the rob zombie movies were aside, but mane is everything Michael myers should be, he's huge, intimidating, a presence about him, deadly and scary.

Yeah, but that's NOT what is supposed to be frightening about Michael Myers.......which is the MAIN problem with Rob Zombie's two Halloween films. He didn't understand what made the good films in the franchise tick. And his lack of understanding what makes the character of Michael Myers so frightening and what makes a good Halloween film is actually THE ONLY thing frightening about his version of the character or those 2 movies 😂😂😂🤣🤣 Intimidating looking......physically, is what works for Jason Voorhees, what his fans love about him....along with his strength, physicality and brutality. Rob should have remade Friday The 13th instead and left the Halloween franchise alone.....because Rob's style of writing and film making.....gross, dirty, lowbrow, trashy, profane, brutal and explicitly gory fall right in line with a Friday movie and Jason. I've complained long enough, so I'm not going to go in depth about what makes Michael Myers scary, I'll just end this by saying it's the EXACT OPPOSITE of EVERYTHING Rob Zombie did with the character........I'm not knocking Tyler or his ability as an actor, I'm knocking Rob Zombie's total ignorance about what makes the character tick. Even people who weren’t a fan of, disliked or even full on hated the Rob Zombie Halloween movies always have to admit that Tyler Mane’s Michael as well as the mask were NAILED for the type of style and tone those films were going for 😃
The shotgun scene in H4 was actually Tom Morga not George Wilbur. They asked him what scenes he had done prior to being fired from the movie. All the bandage scenes and the shotgun scene. You can tell in the scene it’s def not Wilbur.

I've never ranked the actors, but I've totally ranked the masks. Part 4 and its no neck having self...that mask bothers me SO bad. That looks like when you had a Barbie doll and you accidentally popped the head off, the ball where the head goes breaks off, and you just shove the head back on the neck so your Barbie will continue to have a head...that's what that mask did for Michael and despite part 4 being one of my favorites, that's all I can think of. No Neck Michael.

I'm only including the main actors who play Michael. And I am not taking into account the movies or the masks, just the actors' portrayals. Now, I don't think there are any garbage portrayals of Michael, but there are certainly some that are better than others: 1. James Jude Courtney - His portrayal was a perfect combination of Nick Castle's Michael and Tyler Mane's Michael. 2. Nick Castle 3. George P. Wilbur (1-3 are fantastic. All so close) 4. Dick Warlock 5. Tyler Mane (4 & 5 are really good, but not quite as good as 1-3) 6. Don Shanks 7. Brad Loree 8. Chris Durand I know Debra Hill plays Michael in the opening of the original and Carpenter is rumored to have played Michael somewhere in the original. Can't wait for favorite kills and ranking the masks videos

My Michael Actor Ranks: 1. Nick Castle in the original 1.5 Michael 2018 2. Dick Warlock from Halloween II (I think you bring up a good point about how he moved, but I think it also made sense since he was shot in the heart six times) 3. George Wilber from 4/6 4. Brad Loree 5. Shanks 6. Duran (the entire thing was ruined for me by that horrible “sit up” after getting hit by the truck being driven by Laurie. I know that it is because at that point it wasn’t really Myers, but we didn’t learn that until part 8, so they should have done a good “sit up.”) 7. Mane was more of a Jason than a Michael, but like I said, that may have been RZ influences. At the end of the film when he is breaking the walls and ceiling looking for Laurie, that is totally Jason Voorhees tearing the barn apart looking for Chris in Part 3. That, the running at the end of RZ1, and the speaking at the end of RZ2 just were not Michael Myers.
Do a side 2 side comparison, especially being a woman, lol. Castle had grace, posture, the way he walks, the mask, how he walks down the stairs, or chases Laurie through the kitchen, across the street. He moves with 100% purpose. JJC is the opposite, especially in the side-walk scene, castle grabs the kid, JJC's just standing there going "Now what? Oh yeah, let's walk this way". Plus he's a foot longer than Castle, hunches in the shoulders, has no ass, the mask looks like my grandmother on a sad day, everything is just off.
Gotta say I'm a fan of yours and I am always surprised at how cultured you are for your age.......but ya definitely flubbed here on the top spot, in MY opinion of course. Now, I'm sure at least 80 percent of the people in these comments are saying the same thing, but I gotta say it too......ANYONE else other than Nick Castle at the top spot is almost blasphemy to Halloween fans lol I could sit here and point out about 20 different reasons why he's the top dog, but I'll only mention a few.......THE WALK!!! Nick Castle's walk AND posture are just so perfect for the role.....because he didn't try to act or give him ANY kind of personality. Most of the guys who have played the character have put too much thought into it all. When Castle asked John Carpenter what he wanted him to do, how he wanted him to portray the character, what his motivation was, Carpenter, now famously said......"Just walk Nick.....just walk man" and that was all. He put no thought into it. He had no writer telling him to portray the character this way or the director telling him to do it that way....on top of trying to put his own personal stamp on the performance. Nick Castle was very graceful in his movements and with the way he moves it's almost as if he is floating a few inches off the ground, much like a ghost. The rest of the actors/stuntmen who have played the role have been way too stiff and robotic. It's obvious that most of them were influenced by Dick Warlock's turn as Michael Myers in Halloween II, which was extremely robotic and almost "zombielike" When you watch Nick Castle you will notice he ISN'T that stiff or robotic, there's still some semblance of a human in there. There's actually a little bowleggedness in the way he walks, especially when he walks down those stairs in the Wallace house when the chase with Laurie begins. Something everyone misses. Another thing about Castle is his size. 6'1......they've cast some SERIOUSLY huge dudes in pretty much ALL of the other films, Tyler Mayne anyone!! We've gotten these huge, hulking Michael Myers' in the other films that move like a zombie lol There's even something special about the way he moves his head that sets him apart from the rest of those guys. Man, that head tilt......when he sticks ole Bob up on the door, there's just something different about the way he moves his head that none of the rest of those guys were able to mimic....or maybe it's just me lol In actuality multiple people donned the mask and coveralls in the original. Nick Castle, Tony Moran, Tommy Lee Wallace who is actually Michael Myers during the scene with Laurie hiding in the closet and stuntman Jim Windburn, who took the fall off the balcony. You'll have to excuse me, I know WAAAAAY too much about the original film, it's my second favorite film of all time and I have literally, and I DO mean literally.....watched the film over 700 times in my 44 years. Just for the heck of it I'll throw out MY number 2 which is James Jude Courtney. Even he can't quite channel his "inner Nick Castle" but he's done the best at it. And I'll even throw out my own personal worst for my own list. Even though I still like his performance in certain ways and I LOVE the film, I have never really cared for Dick Warlock as Michael Myers in Halloween II for the most part. His performance has always rubbed me the wrong way. Talk about stiff and robotic!!! lol And even his size is wrong, he's TOO small, which is ironic for me since my main complaint has always been about how huge Michael Myers has been in the past. There's even something about the shape of Dick Warlock's head that made the mask fit differently. In Halloween II they used the original mask from the first film, but it's difficult to tell. There's really only one or two angles where you can tell it's the original. That particular mask just DIDN'T fit his head correctly, causing it to look a little different. Then again, I absolutely despise Tyler Mayne as Michael Myers and I CANNOT stand either of the movies he appeared in......so maybe he deserves the honor of the "worst" Michael Myers. The dude is TOO FRIGGIN HUGE. He's dang 6 foot 8 and 300 pounds!!! It seems like ole Rob Zombie had Frankenstein on his mind when casting the character and not Michael Myers lol He DID personalize and make a bigger stamp on the character than any of the other guys.....unfortunately it was all wrong for the character. His massive size and brutality would be perfect for Jason Voorhees but for Michael Myers it's just all wrong. I give ALL the guys who have portrayed Michael Myers their props. Each guy added one or two little things that definitely helped differentiate themselves from each other. Now I just wish that Nick Castle would shed a few pounds so that he could get in that costume and move around and give fans a little more than just a glorified cameo like we've gotten with 2018 and Kills!!!

I agree with you here. Dumpster fire of a movie, but his turn as Michael Myers is basically the only noticeable or memorable performance of the character after Halloween 4.....5.....and 6.....the performances from the dudes in those 3 movies are about as basic, generic and forgettable as you can get. There's nothing in those 3 movies that do anything to personalize or help differentiate one of those performances from the others. The masks and the performances were SO generic and forgettable that it's almost like watching a rip off.....a cheap, knock off of a Halloween movie

That's perfect for a character like Jason Voorhees, but the boogeyman doesn't need to be the size of a WWE wrestler lol He was TOO big, TOO brutal and TOO physical for Michael Myers. I mean he DID do a good job for what it was I could see he was trying to do and he personalized the character and put more of a stamp on it than any of the other actors.....aside from Nick Castle of course......but it was just all wrong for Michael Myers AND the Halloween franchise.

4) George Wilbur ( Tom Morga/ A Michael Lerner)- Mysterious Michael Myers, brutal and scary concurrently as the character, love his walk especially the hallway scene in curse of Michael myers, favorite kills is the shotgun scene in return of Michael Myers and the surgical machete with the doctors in the curse of Michael myers
5) Donald Shanks- emotional Michael Myers, like his slower pace of his walk in the movie, like the scene where Dr. Sam Loomis fights Michael with the 2X4
6) Chris Durand- Animalistic Michael Myers, love durand portrayal of Myers, like his walk and the homage to the kill of Laurie Boyfriend similar to Halloween 2.
7) Tyler Mane- Brutal/ enormous Michael Myers, very brutal with the kills and his 6’8 appearance was imposing to his victims. I enjoy his performance as Myers but I have mixed feelings for the Rob Zombie’s series.
8) Brad Loree- Halloween: resurrection is the worst movie in the original series, but I enjoy his performance as the character. I thought he was brutal and had a nice walk chasing Laurie in the beginning of the movie. The funniest scene in the movie is Busta Rhymes wearing the Myers costume and yelling at the real the Myers lmao.

Tyler Mane for me, while I dislike the Rob Zombie films, he is my favorite part. Definitely in terms of physicality he's the most intimidating.
Yeah, but that's NOT what is supposed to be frightening about Michael Myers.......which is the MAIN problem with Rob Zombie's two Halloween films. He didn't understand what made the good films in the franchise tick. And his lack of understanding what makes the character of Michael Myers so frightening and what makes a good Halloween film is actually THE ONLY thing frightening about his version of the character or those 2 movies 😂😂😂🤣🤣 Intimidating looking......physically, is what works for Jason Voorhees, what his fans love about him....along with his strength, physicality and brutality. Rob should have remade Friday The 13th instead and left the Halloween franchise alone.....because Rob's style of writing and film making.....gross, dirty, lowbrow, trashy, profane, brutal and explicitly gory fall right in line with a Friday movie and Jason. I've complained long enough, so I'm not going to go in depth about what makes Michael Myers scary, I'll just end this by saying it's the EXACT OPPOSITE of EVERYTHING Rob Zombie did with the character........I'm not knocking Tyler or his ability as an actor, I'm knocking Rob Zombie's total ignorance about what makes the character tick. The end result definitely wasn't Tyler Mayne's fault. I wish those 2 poor excuses for movies could be erased from existence......and toss in Lords of Salem along with that wish also🤣🤣🤣😂😂

Even people who weren’t a fan of, disliked or even full on hated the Rob Zombie Halloween movies always have to admit that Tyler Mane’s Michael as well as the mask were NAILED for the type of style and tone those films were going for 😃

The shotgun scene in H4 was actually Tom Morga not George Wilbur. They asked him what scenes he had done prior to being fired from the movie. All the bandage scenes and the shotgun scene. You can tell in the scene it’s def not Wilbur.

I've never ranked the actors, but I've totally ranked the masks. Part 4 and its no neck having self...that mask bothers me SO bad. That looks like when you had a Barbie doll and you accidentally popped the head off, the ball where the head goes breaks off, and you just shove the head back on the neck so your Barbie will continue to have a head...that's what that mask did for Michael and despite part 4 being one of my favorites, that's all I can think of. No Neck Michael.

Now, I don't think there are any garbage portrayals of Michael, but there are certainly some that are better than others:

7. Mane was more of a Jason than a Michael, but like I said, that may have been RZ influences. At the end of the film when he is breaking the walls and ceiling looking for Laurie, that is totally Jason Voorhees tearing the barn apart looking for Chris in Part 3. That, the running at the end of RZ1, and the speaking at the end of RZ2 just were not Michael Myers.

Do a side 2 side comparison, especially being a woman, lol. Castle had grace, posture, the way he walks, the mask, how he walks down the stairs, or chases Laurie through the kitchen, across the street. He moves with 100% purpose. JJC is the opposite, especially in the side-walk scene, castle grabs the kid, JJC's just standing there going "Now what? Oh yeah, let's walk this way". Plus he's a foot longer than Castle, hunches in the shoulders, has no ass, the mask looks like my grandmother on a sad day, everything is just off.
Gotta say I'm a fan of yours and I am always surprised at how cultured you are for your age.......but ya definitely flubbed here on the top spot, in MY opinion of course. Now, I'm sure at least 80 percent of the people in these comments are saying the same thing, but I gotta say it too......ANYONE else other than Nick Castle at the top spot is almost blasphemy to Halloween fans lol I could sit here and point out about 20 different reasons why he's the top dog, but I'll only mention a few.......THE WALK!!! Nick Castle's walk AND posture are just so perfect for the role.....because he didn't try to act or give him ANY kind of personality. Most of the guys who have played the character have put too much thought into it all. When Castle asked John Carpenter what he wanted him to do, how he wanted him to portray the character, what his motivation was, Carpenter, now famously said......"Just walk Nick.....just walk man" and that was all. He put no thought into it. He had no writer telling him to portray the character this way or the director telling him to do it that way....on top of trying to put his own personal stamp on the performance. Nick Castle was very graceful in his movements and with the way he moves it's almost as if he is floating a few inches off the ground, much like a ghost. The rest of the actors/stuntmen who have played the role have been way too stiff and robotic. It's obvious that most of them were influenced by Dick Warlock's turn as Michael Myers in Halloween II, which was extremely robotic and almost "zombielike" When you watch Nick Castle you will notice he ISN'T that stiff or robotic, there's still some semblance of a human in there. There's actually a little bowleggedness in the way he walks, especially when he walks down those stairs in the Wallace house when the chase with Laurie begins. Something everyone misses. Another thing about Castle is his size. 6'1......they've cast some SERIOUSLY huge dudes in pretty much ALL of the other films, Tyler Mayne anyone!! We've gotten these huge, hulking Michael Myers' in the other films that move like a zombie lol There's even something special about the way he moves his head that sets him apart from the rest of those guys. Man, that head tilt......when he sticks ole Bob up on the door, there's just something different about the way he moves his head that none of the rest of those guys were able to mimic....or maybe it's just me lol In actuality multiple people donned the mask and coveralls in the original. Nick Castle, Tony Moran, Tommy Lee Wallace who is actually Michael Myers during the scene with Laurie hiding in the closet and stuntman Jim Windburn, who took the fall off the balcony. You'll have to excuse me, I know WAAAAAY too much about the original film, it's my second favorite film of all time and I have literally, and I DO mean literally.....watched the film over 700 times in my 44 years. Just for the heck of it I'll throw out MY number 2 which is James Jude Courtney. Even he can't quite channel his "inner Nick Castle" but he's done the best at it. And I'll even throw out my own personal worst for my own list. Even though I still like his performance in certain ways and I LOVE the film, I have never really cared for Dick Warlock as Michael Myers in Halloween II for the most part. His performance has always rubbed me the wrong way. Talk about stiff and robotic!!! lol And even his size is wrong, he's TOO small, which is ironic for me since my main complaint has always been about how huge Michael Myers has been in the past. There's even something about the shape of Dick Warlock's head that made the mask fit differently. In Halloween II they used the original mask from the first film, but it's difficult to tell. There's really only one or two angles where you can tell it's the original. That particular mask just DIDN'T fit his head correctly, causing it to look a little different. Then again, I absolutely despise Tyler Mayne as Michael Myers and I CANNOT stand either of the movies he appeared in......so maybe he deserves the honor of the "worst" Michael Myers. The dude is TOO FRIGGIN HUGE. He's dang 6 foot 8 and 300 pounds!!! It seems like ole Rob Zombie had Frankenstein on his mind when casting the character and not Michael Myers lol He DID personalize and make a bigger stamp on the character than any of the other guys.....unfortunately it was all wrong for the character. His massive size and brutality would be perfect for Jason Voorhees but for Michael Myers it's just all wrong. I give ALL the guys who have portrayed Michael Myers their props. Each guy added one or two little things that definitely helped differentiate themselves from each other. Now I just wish that Nick Castle would shed a few pounds so that he could get in that costume and move around and give fans a little more than just a glorified cameo like we've gotten with 2018 and Kills!!!

I agree with you here. Dumpster fire of a movie, but his turn as Michael Myers is basically the only noticeable or memorable performance of the character after Halloween 4.....5.....and 6.....the performances from the dudes in those 3 movies are about as basic, generic and forgettable as you can get. There's nothing in those 3 movies that do anything to personalize or help differentiate one of those performances from the others. The masks and the performances were SO generic and forgettable that it's almost like watching a rip off.....a cheap, knock off of a Halloween movie
