Without all this extended lore, I never would have guessed that Ursala and Ariel were distantly related, nevermind being related to Hercules, and Hades. That is a crossover I would like to see.
And according to the animated TV series from the 1990s, it is canon that Hercules and Aladdin are in the same universe at the same time.

This family tree is awesome, but the lack of one detail makes it incorrect. In the TV series, Ariel has an adopted little brother, Urchin. Although Urchin is only an adopted brother of Triton's daughters, this doesn't justify leaving this orphan boy out of the family tree. For since Triton adopted him, after Ariel befriended Urchin, he is legally part of the family as well.

So Poseidon's father is ... himself? Because I'm not sure if you know mythology, but Poseidon and Neptune are the same god. I'm not sure if this is video is wrong, or if Disney was wrong because I did not watch The Little Mermaid sequels, prequels, tv series or read any of the comics, I only watched the original movie.
poseidon's dad is the titan king Cronus or Saturn aka by the romans.
His siblings are Demeter, Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Hades, and Hestia. (Inc*st is a very common theme in mythology)

@@simiankleurde1544 I do agree with you that there is some false information and wrong details, but I do have to say that this isn't about the real mythology. You could say that Disney made a fanfiction of the greek mythology. Because of that, The Little Mermaid and Hercules can be from the same universe and the map is correct, though there are some minor mistakes like you mentioned before. Like you said, Poseidon and Neptune are the same person, but maybe Triton's father was also calles Neptune, but I don't know if that's correct. Percy Jackson, as an example, is also a fanfiction of the greek mythology and was bought by Disney, which means that Percy is Ariels Uncle. And with that we have a whole Disney lore.

In case anybody was wondering why none of Triton's children had tentacles or were a different skin color. The little sister of Triton, Ursula was born much prettier than she looks now. However, because of her attempt to try and overthrow Triton, she was cursed to bear her grotesque look.
Then what about Morgana? Or their mother, for that matter?
Not gonna lie, she makes being cursed look good. Not only is she confident about her tentacled form, but she and Morgana learned how to love and accept their new bodies even if they was supposed to be their punishment.
Of all the lessons to take from them, learning to love themselves and to work with what they have is a valuable lesson to take.

In greek mythology poseidon's father is actually Kronos. Kronos is the king of Titans. Neptune is what Poseidon becomes when the Greek Gods/Goddesses transforms into the Roman Gods/Goddesses. Kronos name actually stays the same except the spelling. So that means that Neptune cannot be Poseidon's father.
This is Disney's version of Greek mythology, not actual Greek mythology.

Plus Neptune is actually Triton's father and he's the son of Poseidon Triton literally said your grandfather king Neptune in the little mermaid series so poseiden is actually the great grandfather

Hera is also Zeus’ sister, in the mythologies Hercules is the son of Zeus and the mortal Alcmene, who happens to be Zeus’ great granddaughter. Through her father’s father, Perseus.

It's important to remember that retellings of mythologies don't have to be accurate to the actual stories the characters are based on. In the Disney canon, Hercules is in fact the son of Zeus and Hera. And the two are not mentioned to be siblings so in the Disney world, there is nothing unusual about their relationship.
So not only Melody is the first half-mermaid half-human but also have the blood of a God.

Simply put, melody would have a borderline Superhuman athletic physique, she's an incredible swimmer and she's capable of holding her breath underwater longer than the general majority of human beings put together, that includes some of the exceptional ones, when she transformed into a mermaid by magic she basically became Aquaman, minus a few powers and abilities here and there, she can survive the crushing pressure of the ocean depths, breathe underwater, sees in the darkness of the ocean deep and her swimming ability is significantly amplified as well, now she can traverse through the ocean faster than any sailboat or ships of that time with little to no trouble at all and understands marine life, kinda like a lesser version of Aquaman's ability to talk to fish or something and that's it.

If you want to go deeper into it Uma from Descendants is Ariel’s cousin because she is Ursula’s daughter, and Mal, also from Descendants, is Ursula’s cousin because Mal is the daughter of Hades and Maleficent, Which makes Maleficent Ursula’s aunt.
Hercules is Ariel's first cousin once removed (parent's cousin/cousin's child) Triton is Hercules' cousin.
This feels invalid because King Triton’s grandfather is King Neptune, which is the Roman version of Poseidon

Poseiden and Neptune are the same god. One is the Roman name the other the Greek name.
And if your going with Disney version of those Gods then people should know that in The Hercules TV series had an episode where Icarus gave those Greek gods there Roman names and Poseidon was given the name Neptune.

Also several Descendants books mention that Ariel has a mermaid niece Arabella but gives no info about her parents so I'd assume that one of Ariel's elder sisters also got married and had a daughter of her own.
Mel is one of the heirs, the daughter of Hades and Maleficent, this means that she is also supposed to be a family member of Ariel the Little Mermaid😱

No, you’re not mistaken. Actually Poseidon and Neptune are the same person: Poseidon = Greek mythology, Neptune = Romanian mythology. I guess the author divided them in order to unite two cartoon universes together

In real mythology, yes, in Disney mythology, no. Also, Disney Hercules is not mythologically correct, Titans are not monsters but the primordial gods, Hades is not evil at all but happy with his rich prosperous life in the underworld (he was actually more altruistically inclined god and portrayed as passive and never negatively) and the real villain of the story is Zeus' jealous wife Hera who plans plots and wants revenge because Zeus constantly cheats on his wife with other women, such as Leda in the form of a swan and Alcmene in the form of her huspand. In Greek mythology, the male deities are sexually horrible, except for Hades whose only questionable act was to rob Persphone, the daughter of Demeter, with the permission of Zeus, the father of Presephone, because Hades and Persphone were in love which is shown by the jealousy of Persephone when there are other women near Hades (Minthe, Leuce and etc.). And Hades loved good romance stories and therefore, after he became emotionally moved, returned dead loved ones to those who dared to seek them out from the underworld. Also in Heracles' task to pick up Cerberos, Hades is a good uncle to Heracles and promises to borrow his dog if Heracles can handle it and return it.

Ariel's relatives are not the mythological characters. They are just named after them. This is why we can have a Neptune father of a Poseidon.
Also, the mythological Triton appears in the Hercules TV series and he is definitely not Ariel's father Triton.
Same for Athena. Ariel's mother and the mythological Athena are not the same.
Melody can talk to fish, she can survive from cold Temperatures, and she only breathe underwater for 24 hours.
I'm not sure if I'd consider Melody to be tomboy-ish. Adventurous, definitely, but honestly, she acts much like her mother did in the first movie and prequel.

I mean it's kinda not really possible to make proper family tree when Olympians have WAAAY more children with many different men/women/creatures and also have children again with their offspring. Mythology is really complicated when it comes to family connections between gods, humans and other creatures. Some children of gods aren't even next gods or humans. Even Pegasus is techinically child of Posaidon while Disnay presented pegasus as being made by Zeus as present for Hercules. then in a way Pegasus is more like Hercules's cousin. Mythology is messy with family tree as I said. Well here it's clearly condensed to kinda changed disney lore.

Reminds me of when people insisted Tarzan was Elsa and Anna’s brother purely because a director had his own personal head canon. But it’s not true because not only do the parents from frozen have differences in hair and eye color than the parents from Tarzan, but we learn in Frozen 2 how the king and queen die making it literally impossible for them to be Tarzan’s parents.

Anyone that knows and loves Greek Mythology knows that Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades were sons of Chronos. And Heracles (not Hercules) was not Hera’s son as Zeus was not a loyal husband to his wife/sister, Hera. Hades is not actually bad either. However all things considering this is in the Disney universe and they’re allowed to do whatever they want to hide the fact that the actual stories are darker and decide to make Hades a bad guy even though Zeus and Poseidon were way worse than Hades was- in conclusion the little mermaid is one of my favorite movies no hate towards it but as a lover of Christmas Ology it’s hard to watch some thing that says that Hera and Zeus actually had Heracles together when that is not true and Neptune is pretty much just Poseidon in a nutshell I believe he is the Roman version of Poseidon if I’m correct but I am not very sure. Sorry for getting on my soapbox I just really love Greek mythology and I like setting things straight as I am a huge fan of Disney but I also see some things that are- more aggravating if you see the dark side. Disney changes a lot of things and says a lot of things, look up the original stories of the little mermaid, Hercules, sleeping beauty, and more and you'll see how many changes and differences there are between the original and its "Disney" versions. They may not confirm or deny it but you if pay close attention to the little mermaid movies, tv series, and Hercules movie and tv series you'll get all the information you need to formulate the family tree branch you see in this video.

Disney didn't do things "wrong", they're a company, they have the artistic license to change things, and they probably went with Hercules instead of Heracles because it's more well known
