    John Cleese actually lived with some neighbours who kept waking him up by slamming the doors of their cars. This sketch was basically his revenge.

      Thank you for that bit of information. I wish I could write a funny skit about the two stroke hedge trimmer I have to listen to. Comedy is better than murder.

    Oliver doesn't know when he's beat, he doesn't know when he's winning either, he has no sensory
    apparatus known to man. love this. they are all so clever. rock on pythons!!

    I remember I was having a really bad day when I came home and this was in the TV. I laughed so hard I pissed myself totally forgetting my problems. MP making life right again. Happy 50th anniversary boys!

    I love the way there were only 4 rabbits and debutantes even though there were 5 competitors. It's like they didn't expect one of them to survive that long.

    Despite this being a 70s sketch, it's amazing how it's still so relevant today. British comedy never gets old.

    "They must be shooting from a range of at least one foot!" That is one of the greatest Monty Python sketches ever, and damn those were two of the most gorgeous cars I have ever seen!

    This is the funniest sketch ever in history IMO! I've seen it for 40 years now and every time I end up crawling on the floor laughing like a maniac! Thank god for Monty Python!

    Graham Chapman definitely does the best facial expressions out of all of them. I love Monty Python.

    The white car is a Triumph (Spitfire?), and yes, the dark car is a Jag XKE. I'd love to own either one, but I'm a Yank who'd be happy with any old basic Brit saloon (Wolseley 1500, Vauxhall Victor, and yes, a Moggie Minor!). For that matter, toss me a BMC Farina-bodied saloon as well!

    If there is anything funnier that has ever been filmed, I want to see it. I first saw this over 25 years ago and I still laugh hysterically every time. I can quote the damn thing and yet still I laugh out loud. Brilliant!

    This is absolutely Piss-Your-Pants funny! I don't recall EVER seeing this skit during the '70s when the Python shows were being broadcast in syndication here in the US, and now that I've found it on youtube, I just have to watch it once a day! No matter how many times I watch, it STILL amazes me.

    Forget the Parrot Sketch (well don't that's brilliant too) this is the number one Monty Python sketch and is indeed the number one most funniest thing I have ever witnessed in my books.

    The one scene that almost spoiled their success in America...one of the many though to be fair (watch the documentaries)...so glad hey finally made it. They deserved so more than this countries recognition!
