I realized I was in the midst of a mental breakdown. I either need a miracle, or serious medical help.
...I couldn't do it anymore...I opened my gospel library app and saw this talk.
I'm so grateful for the Divine peace, power, love, grace, healing, and strength that I know our Savior has for me, and for us all.

I love this concept! I put some quotes from this talk as a "note" in my gospel library in Alma 36:18. I will now always remember that imagery of "catching hold " of the thought of Christ's atoning sacrifice for the sins of the world.

If we "catch ahold" of the love of God, he will catch ahold of us, before we plummet to the bottom of the abyss of sin, and endless spiritual discontentment! This reminds me of when Peter tried to walk on the water towards Jesus.
"And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?"
    -Matthew 14:29-31

What a powerful talk! I spent some time thinking about the figurative ways we use "caught" in English- "I caught my balance" or "I caught myself". "To catch" can be to suddenly and quickly save yourself from something that could have gone poorly. I hope to catch hold upon the thought of Jesus and to save myself from falling or from sinning. As Elder Andersen taught, this is mentally rigorous, but the cushion of safety it provides from the stress and fear of the world is unmatched. Even the thought of Him is powerful!
