Thanks for making this video, I have 2 of these, one of them with cracked gears, they were nice looking engines, it was an early attempt by Bachmann to make something of better quality.
Nice video. It’s too bad that your attempt to fix the gears didn’t work, but at least you were able to purchase new ones to repair them. I’ve often wondered how easy it would be to put a shell on a different chassis. To date, I haven’t been able to do it, but maybe if I come across the right size chassis at a train show sometime, I might be able to do it. Thank you
It's still a bit strange that the sound is much better, but it does get better from time to time! Like someone is turning up the treble on the stereo or suddenly no base. But for brief second. I have been watching your videos for a long time. And I understand your soft spoken but I could always hear you! On to this engine I have had so many of bochmann engines do the same thing. As a fact I have a little switcher that has one broken and sadly I took care of it for years and the motor runs perfectly fine.

Sound has improved but still not great. Its not the microphone. May be the auto gain setting on camera. Turn it off if you can. Set the level manually. Glad there is a fix for the gears.
It’s worth a try. The life like body is a little bit ugly. It’s worth paying a little more to get a quality model. I keep the Life-like because they are fun. I also have better quality models. My Kato Big Boy just arrived. I’m gonna wrap it up to keep for Christmas…
First 4 mins sound was great, then went muffled when you put train on track! Then sound was up and down quality wise. Don’t know what equipment you are using but it’s making it hard to watch your videos my friend.

They all have broken gears. If you find some with black gears, they are better.

They all have the Maker, and engine model in the title. If it’s dcc I say it also. Most are DC

Wonder if Life Like bodies would fit on a Kato Drive. Nice you could get replacement wheels
