Hello Sharon! Welcome! I'm so happy you like this recipe. It is very versatile, and I'm glad to see you using and adapting it to your tastes. Thanks so much for watching
i want to thankyou in the past ive failed at making bread BUT you have restored my faith in baking bread i tried this recipe and not only did it rise it cooked beautifully and tastes wonderful
I did this one rise and it was perfect. I was so excited. This was my best bread and the easiest. My husband was skeptical because I wasn't doing an overnight rise. Punching down dough and letting it rise again for hours. I almost gave up on bread making. Once again, I am so excited. I did however use 2 cups Organic Bread Flour, 1 cup Organic Wheat flour and oil. Thanks for the one rise!!!!
This looks like the easiest bread recipe that I’ve seen on YT. Been watching quite a few & now I think I’m game to try this one 😄 I’m in Australia & even bread has become expensive…unless you are willing to eat the worst of the worst, processed, mushy rubbish.
Now I'll be baking my own bread. I didn't know bread could be so easy to make. Thanks so much for sharing. Give me some butter with that hot bread. I'm literally tasting it. My mouth is watering
THANK YOU! ever so much for posting this video recipe. I've already made 2 loaves and they came out absolutely perfect: Lovely crust on the outside and extremely tender on the inside. This is my type of recipe - I don't like too many ingredients and I sure don't have the patience or time to proof over & over again. Thanks for "making me look Good" LOL 🙂
Hi,thanks for posting,I couldnt bake to save my life but Ive just made this bread and it came out great, well done you and thanks again.eoin.Ive just made your white bread and this turned out great aswell, and i cant fry an egg. Thanks again.Best wishes peace and love
Ive been trying to make brown bread for a while and this is the most successful and so easy. Particularly the 40 mins rise and no kneading! This is an excellent recipe. Thank you so much for showing this.
Very easy bread. I made last night. I have the paper loaf pans that don’t stick so they are smaller so I got 2 loafs out of this recipe. I Added honey. It was perfect. Thank you 🙏🏻
I can't wait to make this today with my homemade pineapple jam...so excited, hungry and sooo looking forward to breaking my fast today. Thank you for the recipe.
I know, I know! Right? You gotta try this. It would work with white flour. However, I would suggest a little longer kneading on the counter so the white dough will become a bit smoother which will make the final loaf a really good texture.
Hi Jill I live in the UK 🇬🇧 and I’ve recently started making bread I came across you’re wholemeal bread recipe I thought I’ll give that a go not been lucky with my attempts so far to make wholemeal bread so I tried yours and wow it turned out ok it was lovely my daughter really liked it so thank you for your channel it helps people especially those that are not well off cos it was cheap to make great job Jill 👍
Water I believe is not considered an ingredient. Then there's the absolutely optional teaspoon of sugar. Flour, Yeast. Salt. 3 ingredients. Amazing stuff to make into bread.
I decided to make this bread and I'm eating it right now, sitting in front of my laptop. It turned out great, just the right consistency, crispy on the outside and medium density on the inside. Chemical-free and full of fiber. The only question is about salt. It tastes very unsalted. I wonder if just 1 teaspoon of salt isn't enough. If I use more salt next time, how many teaspoons/tablespoons should I add to improve the taste? Also, what else can I add to it to make it a bit more tasty? Maybe some condiments or spices?
I'm glad you're enjoying the bread! Sure, you can add herbs, etc, to it. Regarding salt. I'd not add more than another 1/2 teaspoon and see how that tastes. 1 more teaspoon might be just fine if you enjoy salt. I'm sure that didn't help all that much, but I hope it gives you a point of reference.
Hi! You don't need to preheat your oven a whole 40 minutes, just until it comes up to temperature. The bread rising will take approximately 40 minutes. Hope that helps.
Wanted to try to make whole wheat bread and since your white bread video was PERFECT and worked so well every time, I knew where I need to go for a whole wheat one ❤
Thanks this is really helpful, I’ve been searching for a long time for a healthy bread recipe.. and this recipe is the best one out there, I’ll make it into crumbs airfry it and put in a salad❤❤
Thank you so much, I've started a no added sugar diet so made this bread without the sugar. It was so delicious! One thing I don't understand is how it can be nice without the kneeding?

thank you SO MUCH for sharing this recipe! I've been using a 2 rise method and it takes all day and really hurts my wrist! This is going to be a game changer! ❤️
The two rise all day method is to make sourdough bread or so I thought. I love sourdough but wants to try this just to show my hubby 2 rises are not necessary to make bread (plain that is).
Thank you for this recipe. I’m right handed and have no use of that arm…so I made this loaf with my left hand and we love it…making another loaf tomorrow.
I love home bread but the kneading was my problem so when I saw this recipe I decided to try it. It was simple to do and I liked the outcome.its a dense bread that reminds me of pumpernickel bread I even left it 20 minutes over the stipulated time in error and it was perfect Thanks

Hello Pakistan!! Thank you for visiting my channel. It's truly a thrill to know people from around the world look at my videos. I hope you'll try the bread. It's quite good.
Well, you've got my attention, I didn't know you could make 100% whole wheat bread without kneading, always thought it would come out heavy and dense. Will give this a try EVEN though the kneading is my favourite part!
Great simple recipe! I was making Easter bread for Greek Easter and while that was rising I decided to try this. It’s about to go into the oven. I’d love to see you make a honey wheat bread. 👍. Thank you for the simple clear instructions!
I tried making my own wheat bread for the first time! I ground my own hard red wheat in my mill and 41/2 cups came out completely dry. I tried increasing the water a bit to compensate. I still liked how hearty it turned out, however I'm thinking 4 cups flour, and 1 3/4 cups water will get it closer to the consistency you demonstrated. Thanks for the quick, simple recipe!
I've had some people express the same results. All flours do vary in moisture content, which could be the reason you had problems. However, because of your comments, I've gone back and updated the recipe to reflect more water to begin with and a bit more just incase the dough is still dry. Thanks!
Great video, but as simple as this recipe is, ours did not want to rise. We are not bakers but I'm encouraging my wife for us to try this and now we are both determined to make the idea work. Thank you for your enthusiasm, you are an encouragement.
Check on the temperature of your water. You don't want it hot. A little on the cooler side is better than too hot. If you didn't add the sugar to the yeast and water, I'd suggest that, too. Also, check on the freshness of your yeast. I would guess that since you mentioned you didn't do much baking, you would have recently purchased yeast, but I thought I'd mention it. Old yeast can be a deal-breaker as well. I hope you'll give it another try. I hope these suggestions help
Try proofing your yeast but taking a small amount of warm water at 110 to 15 degrees, adding a little sugar, stirring it, then adding a small amount of yeast. If it doesn't foam or bubble, your yeast may be too old or dead.
If we only have a glass loaf pan, do we change the oven temperature and cook time? Our first effort after 40” the bread temperature was well above 120. Wonderful presentation and encouraging thank you
I'm sorry to hear it came out dense. It is whole wheat which will of course make it denser. You need to remember that this is not made with kneading or a bread loaf you'd buy in the store so it will seem more dense. I think if you add 1/4 teaspoon more yeast you might find it less dense and more desirable.

I made the bread and it is really good. I did have a few slices in the middle with a big hole near the center. I sliced it a bit too thick. Any tips on preventing holes and slicing thinner?
The holes are gas bubbles caught. You might try pressing the dough tighter together when you are deflating it in the bowl before you turn it out in the bake pan. I'm sure that will help. Thinner slices, that's a problem everyone faces when slicing bread. I struggle with it constantly
I was so excited to try this recipe as I’ve never made bread before. I used 4 1/2 cups of King Arthur flour and it was way too much for the amount of water it calls for! Unfortunately, I think I have to throw it away. I saw another comment that said start with 3 1/2 cups of flour and go from there. That’s a big difference! I will try it again. Crossing my fingers it turns out this time.
Update; this time I used 3 cups of flour and still had to add an extra 3 tablespoons of water as well. My dough still was not as soft as yours looks Jill. I didn’t compact the flour. Should it be sifted? I’d appreciate any advice for the next time I make the bread. thank you!!
Hello Chris, I'm sorry to hear you've had problems with the bread recipe. I hope you'll not throw the dough away. I'm sure adding a little water if it's too dry will correct the problem. I did not make any changes to the recipe that I made on the video. I'm a person who hates to try a new recipe which then fails.
